Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Hit it up for the first time in several months and had pretty decent success. Not many Big fish but numbers kept me interested. Did have to find quiet water to get the better fish. I will definitely hit it up again real soon.
      City: San Jose

Tips: 10 to 20 feet of water and drink lots of water. Most fish bit about mid-day.

      Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of the south, straight to the bridge. Caught 2 dinks on a splash-it and spook. Around 10am started fishing trees that were in 10 to 20ft of water long casting senkos weightless. Caught a 5.2 and a 4 in the same tree. Moved up about 50 yds to another group of willows and caught a 3. Mid afternoon I started to split-shotting a river rock point in about 20 ft of water in the main lake and landed a 7 plus. I met up with a local and he showed me some secondary points and other main lake areas and he then landed a 9 plus split-shotting and unknown plastic. I couldn't believe the Florida strain bass in that lake. This was my first trip to the lake and for 2 yrs I haven't blinked an eye nor had the urge to fish this body of water. I normally always spend my time in the Delta but my eyes are now open to quality fish that are lurking in this lake. Monster bass and a lot of snags.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Fish slow and work all trees, missed a lot of quality fish in 10 to 20 ft steep drop offs. Fish light line.

      Water Temp: 82+

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: All I can say is WOW!! I've been living up here on Clear Lake 1/2 time for the past year and have enjoyed some tremendous fishing in that time. But this last week has been "the BOMB"!! Had a 50+ fish morning on 8/7,caught 28 from the beach at Kono Tayee while drinking coffee w/ my neighbor on 8/8(all crankbait fish from 1 to 4 lbs). Came back 8/12 and found concentrations of bigger fish and was able to coax them w/ lipless cranks and big worms to 5.2 lbs. My girlfriend arrived 8/13( Ijust now realized it was on Friday the 13th!!) and I took her to some rock piles and ledges that produced 20+ -all over 2lbs up to 4.8#s(all on big worms) from 7:15 PM till 9:00 PM!! We could do no wrong. 8/14 we got up lazily and missed the topwater window but got right into fish drop shottin' and Texas riggin' 8-10" Power Worms. Our best fish(out of 30) for the morning was a 5.8#er. Went in for lunch, watched the Giants win in Philly then headed backout for a couple of very exciting hours from 5-7. We found a spot holding BIG fish-we boated 3-5 lb fish one after another(7 fish) and then the HAWG hit. I'm embarrassed to say I did not get to weigh or photograph this rascal because I tried to lip him at the boat(instead of waiting 30 seconds for my gal to get the net) and popped off.He was an easy 10 #s(I've got one on the wall and have caught 3 other fish over ten) and impatience got the better of me. Sadly we have to pack it up today but have to be thankful for some of the best fishing of the year!! This lake is so healthy and vibrant right now -schools of shad, hitch and silversides are thick as can be. Most fish we caught had Big bellies on them.
      City: Lucerne

Tips: Rockpiles and rocky points from 4- 20 ft.Drop shot, senkos, big dark worms and crank baits are the order of the day.Larry's right-it has slowed down recently but the QUALITY has improved!!
      Tigh lines to you all!!

Report: went out on sunday using senkos and drop shot. didn't even get a bite off drop shot. lost a two pounder at boat dock on senko, tried to swing it on the dock. i got a 4.5 pder in the cove by the lagoon, the west side. i tossed it into some weeds right and saw a big fish move, thought it might have been a carp. then it grabbed my senko and shot off with it. that was the only fish i got all day.

      Water Temp: 82

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Had to go see what the water level looks like. Got on the water after 4:00 pm and could not believe how low it is. One of the most productive trips I have ever had as I spent most of my time marking off shore humps and islands on my GPS unit. Thank goodness for way points. I caught seven fish the largest a 4lb largemouth on a Luckey Craft Sammy. A 3.2 lb spot ate the Sammy too. Two other good 2lb+ spots on a ghost colored crank, one on a Stasybe, also in the ghost color. The drop shot only gave me dinks and nothing on a jig.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Fish till as late as possible. The gate closes at 10:00 pm and all my bigger fish came at dark. Just remember that going back to the launch after dark is nasty without GPS and a trail that was saved. The 5 mph zone starts at New York Cove in the South arm which left alot of water to get away from the lice. $15.00 launch fee and there was a ranger helping direct the launch process. should be good fishing this fall.

Report: Lake Perris has produced fish consistantly for float tubbers with a little knowledge, all year. We fish virtually any time of the day and usually on Sunday morning till the idiots run us off with their water craft, loud music and general contempt for the rules of the water. Since February 2004 till August we have never been skunked and our fishing count runs from 8-10 fish each on a slow day to 25 to 30 fish in a few hours on the good days. Fish size is not to relavant to us however we C&R from 7" to 20" fish. Our biggest fish so far this year is 9.8 lbs and we usually catch a 2.5 to 3.5 every time we go out. Shakers can be fun too as we catch lots of them.
      City: Hemet

Tips: My friends and I Carolina rig either a watermelon, pumpkin or green and red plastic with a short bouncing motion along the road, weed line or in flat open spaces with consistant luck.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I like fishing black butte, but don't care for the atv's noise. we have no boat so we fish the shore and have been able to catch bass every time, dark sinkos, and worms worked for us.......no size to brag about, but still fun. we were there two weeks ago, water near camp sites was at least 90degees, next week I'll try my tube and hope to catch something to talk about!

      Tips: catch'n release!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Either get there early and fish for a couple of hours or get there late. Lots of bass boats as well as wake makers. Not much etiquette out there on either side. I was first out and managed to get my obvious line blocked by the second boat out. With the whole lake (although it being a small one) I get blocked. Not to mention the 5-6 other times in 2 hours. Good thing I have mellowed out with age. Did pretty good, got 4. All were decent fish to 3+ lbs. Cooler morning than usual with breeze early. Water dropping with fish moving out. Found the decent fish in 10-20 ft of water.
      City: San Carlos

Tips: Marked fish suspened so found a ledge in the depth that I marked fish. Easy access to shallow and deep water. 1/2 oz Blade got 3 and got one on a buzzbait. Off the water by 10:30. Stick to your guns and don't waste too much time here.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Spent 5 days fishing at Clear Lake. Had a wonderful time, and the fishing wasnt half bad either. Went out with Larry Hemphill on the 18th as he posted and caught some nice fish. I ended up catching about 115 fish myself during our stay and with my girlfriend and dads fish added we had around 210 fish. For the lake being in a slow phase compared to a few weeks ago, this is pretty dang good. Anyways the best part was on my last night, i hooked on one of my 1/4 oz orange jigs (after loosing about 10 others to the rocks) with a frog trailer and thunk, i felt the thunk and weight of a fish, i set the hook and she raced for the surface, jumping clear out of the water and thrashing her head. I about cried since i had lost a 7 pounder the night before the same way. But this fish stayed on. Within about 30 seconds i had an audience of about 20 people watching me fight this hog. After about 3 good runs out to sea i was about to get her close enough to grab, not having a net. I grabbed the fish and pulled the giant out. Hearing about 20 different "oh my gods" and "oohs and awws" i felt like a star for a moment. I grabbed my scale and put her up, a perfect 9 pounds 0 oz. My past personal best was only a 4.5 so this doubled it and was a perfect finish to my week. Since my girlfriend had just left to get some drinks i had nobody to take a picture, but a couple boats passing by saw the hog and a man was nice enough to hop on the DOCK and leave his family for a moment to lend me a hand. Took some great pics and revived her for a couple minutes then let her go.
      City: Rancho Cordova

Tips: Just to show you dont need a bass boat to catch big fish if you know what to do. All of these fish were caught on a specific spot at the Konocti resorts dock, with the exception of the trip with Larry Hemphill. And in response to the post below, are you sure that 21 pound fish was a bass, sounds like a carp to me. 21 pounds is very close to the world record. The lake record is only just over 17 pounds. And for a bass to take stink bait is odd.

Report: CAGHT 50 + FISH THREE TO SEVEN LBS. AROUND ROCK AND DEEP WATER. THIS BITE YOU CAN TAKE TO THE BANC
      City: San Francisco

Tips: look for rocks, throw worns 7" to 10" long, Crawdad color black stripe down the back model A bomber medium diver. Right up on the bank just like spring time fishing around deep water. This is real strange for this time of the year, let's injoy this golden time of bass fishing.
