Water Temp: 70-71
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 8-11, caught 6 decent bass on a variety of plastics. Biggest one was just under 3 lbs. and was caught on a Texas rigged Roboworm. Once the sun came up I had the best luck with Carolina rigged baby brush hogs.
City: San JoseTips: Fish the shoreline early and the main lake points later in the day.

Shad senkos caught 10 the rest of the day with one coming on 3X Zulu. Senko fish came off points. Last one caught at 1:30 pm. All came walking the shoreline. Biggest was 3#. Total = 11 fish for 25#'s.

Report: Went to CFW this morning to get in a little fishing. Got three on light green & pepper worm. There is a really nice launching facility now. Nicely laid out too. Got on the water at 6am, the water level is dropping quite a bit. The spillway is high and dry. While fishing on the river arm I look up and see a full race clown boat, V8 big block come screaming past. They turned around and came back the same way. Moving so fast that there was very little wake. As I moved out of that arm I hear drag boat after drag boat blasting off. I find out later that this is time trials for a drag race this weekend at CFW. I left at 1PM talked to the man that takes the money and he says by the end of the summer there won't be much water at all. He said there is 40% more rice this year and they're scheduled to lose most of there water. When this happens they are going to extend the launch ramp another 200 ft into the water. SO CFW is going to dry up soon.

Report: Launched at Red Bud at about 8:15AM and took a nice ride up to the Nice area. On my 2nd flip into some tules with a pig and jig I got a hard bite and set hard. Snap goes the flourocarbon leader! Please don't let that be the only good bite today was the thought that ran through my head. Decided to head up and try Rodman for the first time. It looks great but I didn't get a bite until I got back to the low bridge. At 1PM I got 2 little 12 inchers on a Nories Bug and a chartruese Norman crank. I fished some docks along the west shore with no luck. By now the wind was howling so I headed down to the south west part of the lake. I was seeing a lot of fish in the 9-12 foot range on the meter out in 16- 22 ft. of water. So I did the same thing I did the day before at Berryessa- I trolled that chartruese crank on 12 lb. Big Game and a Striker glass rod. I caught 9 more bass but only half were 12" or bigger- one was 15 1/2" and 2 pounds. The 3 best all came along shorline areas that had big rocks on them. You could actually get within 12-15 ft. of shore in a lot of places. The best part was the looks on the face of the bass boat guys as I'd go by in my aluminum boat- they must have thought I was the most clueless trout troller in the universe. Maybe I should talk my WON bass TOC partner into using the aluminum boat instead of his Ranger! All in all a decent trip but I really was looking for a few nice ones. Next trip!
City: napaTips: My tip... thank your wife profusely for not insisting you go with her and the baby girl to Minnesota. I've fished every day so far- Berryessa twice, Black Butte, Clear Lake, Lake Henessey, 2 local ponds twice and I still have 3 days to go- ain't vacation GREAT!!!

Water Temp: unknown
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Hit the lake just after it opened. Went straight to the tules across from the ramp just like someone had posted. Stayed in about 12 foot of water just outside the weeds. Threw my trusty chug bug in front of a tule pocket, let the ripples dissapear, then twitched it "whoosh" had me a toad or so I thought. Couldn't bring him in out of the weeds. Caught my breath then cast to another pocket, again whoosh, had him on but halfway to the boat the fish spits out my bug. I'm scratching my head, what the hell's wrong here? Well, I put down the spinning rig, and changed to my senko rod. I spot a clump of tules next to some lie down wood where a previous fish had gotten off the hook ( that'll teach me not to sharpen the hooks before I go out). Cast the senko, never hit bottom line starts goin out, bam I finally boat a fish, beautiful 4.3. Strong fish! Had a fish and game tag on it so released it. Well after 7:30 the bite shut down so I left around 10:00.
Hey for all you guys who fish Del Valle, please write your assemblyperson, senator or the governor to keep the park open to all of us in the bay area. As Bernie said, this fishery has come a long way. Good fishing
City: FremontTips: Fish tight to the tules. Poppers, soft jerkbaits
Get out there before the sun comes up for topwater fun

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Good day. Caught 3, all on different rigs. First one at 1.5 lbs on a 1/2 oz. white spinnerbait reeled in slow. He hit it really hard. Second one again 1.5 lbs on a Carolina rigged Yum Crawbug in Tequila Sunrise. Again hit really hard. Third one was 4 lbs and it absolutely exploded on my white buzzbait! Awesome. Had a couple more hits on the C-rig and buzzbait. Hooked what was probably another 1.5 lber on the buzzbait, but he unbuttoned. A fun day. I was amped for a long time after the 4 lber.
City: FremontTips: No pattern, though the buzzbait from about 6pm on was alot of fun. Talked to another guy who has been catching them in the evenings on a frog.

Report: Fished from shore. Caught a 2-5 flipping pocket between tules and riprap during hightide. The rest on around low tide, 1 small dink on a red craw crankbait and 2 dinks on Senkos. Missed a big bite on a senko. First time in a while I haven't been able to pick-up any on blades

Report: We went out yesterday launched early. Mario caught one on first cast of the morning on a rattle trap. Right after that he caught one on a buzz bait. Then we hit up some rock walls and tulies and worked the little guys all day using everything from spinner baits, brush hogs, sweet beavers, gator pups, gator tubes and rattle traps. Between three of us we caught 32 fish, but nothing over 2 pounds. Where are the big guys? Today Mario and I went out for some evening fishing. Mario caught his first on a buzz bait, then I caught mine on a spinner bait. We then found this awsome spot of tulies I caught one on a gator tube and then one on a brush hog. Mario caught one more on a spinner bait. Still no love from the big guys.

Report: I heard about the news that they may be closing Del Valle due to budget cuts.It could be as soon as Labor Day. This is not good my fellow anglers. We need to try everything we can to keep our fishery open. I,ve been fishing this lake for a good 30 years and it has come along way, especially the smallmouth population. To see it close would be a crying shame. A friend of mine gave me a number we can call for information and to voice our opinion. They will email you a letter that we can send to the Governor and other officials. We need to do it ASAP!!! The number is 510-544-2212. Please pass it on, Thanks.

Report: THis lake may not be controlled by EBRP anymore and may close saw a write up in the paper today dailyreview that said they will close due to budget cuts and that the state would take over the lake this is VERY BAD for alll the fellow bassers out there so please write or call ebrp and tell them you fish there and not to close or let the state try to manage the park. This fishery has come a long way and its great for bass fishing so lets keep it that way i will keep you all posted on who to contact and what we all can do to try and save this place!!

Report: See below.
City: SacramentoTips: Bobby,
See the previous reports that I and others have posted. Jack's Shack area in the trees has been good with Senkos in watermelon and purple. Trees have been the hot spots for me in the past several trips to Folsom. I would try white, silver or blue spinner baits as well. If you get out early you might try topwater, I hope that it turns on soon as it is always the most fun! The back sides of rocky point protected from the wind have also produced the last trip out! Good luck and let us know how you did! -

Report: Fished two clients from the Bay area, who were on a house boat vacation on the upper Sac.
launched at Sugar Loaf @ 5;00 pm and picked up my clients @ 6:00 pm. Fished the rock wall above Little Sugarloaf Creek, throwing Ricos and Jitterbugs for about 1 hour with several blowups and only one 1.5 lb. fish. Decided to stick with the topwater baits, as we tried swimming grubs and worms for the next hour without sucess. At about 8:45 the topwater bite got hot,one client caught a 2 lb and a 2.5 spot plus several smaller fish and the back seat caught a good fish
Bite died about 9:40 so we switched to plastics without any success and then I delivered my clients back to there house boat @ 11:00 pm and proceeded to find my way back to the dock, man was it dark out there. I don't recommend fishing at night without some moonlight to go by. caught a total 9 fish all on topwater, most on jointed Jitterbug.
City: ReddingTips: if we would have hook all our blowups we would have had a boatload.

Water Temp: 72-85
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: My buddy and I started off Tuesday evening 6/15 at about 7pm. We hit a point off an island down south near Red Bud with spinnerbaits and rattle traps and caught about 6 fish pretty quick up to approx. 3 1/2 pounds. With all of the carp spawning it made the bite a little tough but we made due. I had two frog blow-ups and landed one @ about 3 pounds. The other one I could not turn her head and she spit my frog. She was a big one!!! We fished till about 8:30pm and ended up with 16 fish. A good amount of them were about 2 to 2 1/2 pounds.
We started Wednesday in the A.M. at about 5:30 around Rattle Snake. Everywhere we looked there were carp spawning so we got out of there pretty quickly. We flipped Silver Dollar with jig's and 5" senko's and caught 4 fish up to 4 pounds. We wanted to fish up north but the further up we went the nastier the water got. That green algea was every where and it was "Thick." There was no bite up north from what we were doing. We were tossing frogs, buzzbaits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, senkos and jigs and not a bite. We then took off back down south and stated catching fish on crank baits and drop shot's. One thing we noticed was down south the water temp. was about 70-76 and up north due to the shallow water the temp. was about 82-85. This was a big part of the algea being so thick up there. Not to mention there was no wind what so ever. I was told the wind had been so bad throughout the past couple of weeks, perhaps the fish were not use to the calm weather yet. We ended up with about 13-15 pounds for 5 fish and a total of 25 fish. It was a productive and fun day. Any trip up to Clear Lake is worth it. Good luck and be safe out there!
City: Walnut CreekTips: Stay away from the carp spawing and thick algea blooms.

Report: Evening bite, 1700-2200 hr., If the wind is a blow'n and the waves are a roll'n fish top water, BIG TOP WATER luers like the Jimmy Huston Super Spook. Work main lake points, wind blown cuts, not coves, and hold on to your rod, they're inhailing em like no tomorrow. Flukes didn't work well nore did smaller top water that accounted for only a couple small fries, but offering them the big spook was what they wanted working it slow and pausing occasionally. Fish were on the bank to 40 feet deep. Of the 15-20 fish we caught 2-3 were under the slot the rest were all quality fish, pound and half to three pounds. Once the sun sank so did the bite. A couple rats on 8" lizzards and we called it a night. Great memories again with a Great Partner even though i had to spank ya. Your turn next time.
City: turlockTips: Big top water baits, main lake points/cuts, and wind. Stay away from stained water and coves if you're throwing top water it just didn't seem to be where they were or what they wanted.
