Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Wimpys for only the second time this year. Heard there were some smallies up here. Tried for about two hours for a small mouth bite just north of wimpys. Nothing but dink large mouths. Headed for beaver slough. Never been there before, started on the calm side because the wind started to pick up, couple of dinks, went to the wind blown side, hard to keep boat in position but caught some good quality fish.
      City: elk grove

Tips: zippers or brushhogs on the windy side of the bank, it sucks for the fisherman but the fish dont seem to mind

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Hit the northfork for a while yesterday and caught a few on a jerkbait in the morning then switched to the bitsy jig with yum chunk trailer and found a few nice fish on steep banks with chunk rock. Biggest fish went 16 1/2 inches and only went 2 pounds. used boldbluegill 6" robos on jig heads to end my trip. I most have caught 25 fish in about a hour and a half on those but nothing big.

Report: very good bight in the am throwing rip baits and senko's. then darthead and weighted senko's when the sun comes up. if you're not catching fish within 15-20 casts on a bank, move, there's more fish elsewhere. not much in the backs of coves, lot's of fish on the main lake points and baks with red dirt and rock.

Report: Fished from 8:30 to 12:30. Caught 6 LM under 2 lbs each. Caught one on a drop shot 4" worm and the other 5 on a carolina rigged brush hog. Drop shot fish was in 20 ft of water near a bluff. Carolina fish were in 2 ft of water near brush on a rocky shore line and a flat.
      City: Foster City

Tips: Fish are shallow early. I fished a flat with a steep drop nearby. When the ski boats take over go with a drop shot in deeper water.

Report: Alot of wind this week. Went out on Tuesday from New Hope and caught fish on top water in the am until the wind came up. Went to spinnerbaits over the weeds and they loved that. Also caught fish on senkos. Most of the fish where small males with a couple of fish up to 31/2lbs.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: High tide roll a spinnerbait over the weeds just ticking the top and hold on.

Report: THIS IS NOT A FISHING REPORT ,BUT AFTER SEEING THAT OTHERS BESIDES MY SELF HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF BY A BUNCH OF LOW LIFE THEIVES AT THE SHASTA LAKE BOAT RAMPS I THINK ITS TIME THEY PUT SOME KIND OF SECURITY AROUND THOSE RAMPS. THE LAUNCHING FEES SEEM TO BE GOING UP AND THE BREAKINS IN THE PARKING LOTS ARE ON THE INCREASE,A PERSON ON THE LAKE CANT REALLY ENJOY THEM SELFS KNOWING THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE ANYTHING LEFT WHEN THEY GET BACK TO THERE RIG.

Report: Took a break from my Saltwater fishing and did some Freshwater fishing. Got to the Lake at 6:15am, windy with whitecaps, fished coves for protection. Fish seemed to be mostly near or in the wood closer to the points. Fished Senkos dark colors any size but we caught fish on spinnerbaits, dropshotting and jigs. Fished Yorty and Cherry Creeks at about 10 am fish were closed to main channels. All fish were small in 1#+ range but it was fun. Fish were in the mostly caught in about 8 to 15 feet of water. Like to thank Frank for his reports and information it certainly help make our fishing day alot of fun!

Tips: Go early leave early or stay late, launching is a bear!!!! Have patients, fish are there but spooky. Do not fish with 50+ braid too much wood!!! Enjoy the Lake!

Report: I took the same client that I took last week, along with his brother this time. What a difference a week makes - post spawn is upon my boat, at least! The bass wern't nearly as aggressive as last week and the shallows only had a few carp left. Thurs night was chilly, so naturally the topwater bite didn't happen for us Friday morning. Clients then started fishing worms and I decided to throw a jig since bass have been feeding on crawdads too. Lo and behold I did get a 2-2 largemouth on a jig and missed 2 others. My clients were using worms and small brush hogs and doing very well. High clouds moved over the now golden hillsides and the fish turned on from about 12 to 2 pm. Each client got a big spot - over 17 inches - drifting over a shelf. One weighed 2 lbs 11 oz. The hot bait was the ruby-red small brush hog. While we caught only 22 bass including just 2 dinks - the size was impressive with our 5 biggest nearly 11 pounds. We didn't get any hogs, but lots of largemouth from 2 to 2-6 lbs. The smallmouth bite was very slow for the first time and they were only as big as 1 3/4 lbs. We fished the east shore, Big Island, and the narrows. We had to work harded, but they can still be caught!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: While the fishing conditions were tough - high sun and flat water, the lake appears to have taken on a little color. That is in keeping with the approach of summer. We found fish in areas that had shadows - they are looking for shade now. The bite again was very subtle - be on your toes! I tried Senkos quite a bit, but it didn't happen on Friday. Just caught one. Don't overlook brush hogs and jigs - the bass are feeding on 'dads!

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out on my friend Jesses boat (might be mine pretty soon)so we got to fish many parts of the lake. We hit up the banks and points in between the two damns first thing in the morning and got them on Spinnerbaits and ripbaits. The reaction bite was on for about 2 hours until the sun popped out. Went to the south end and I hooked a huge one on my ripbait, it was takin line and I thought i had my first Toad, well it was a carp. A huge one at that. I hooked it in its belly. None on the south end though. Then we carolina rigged lizards and dropshotted roboworms on points and rock walls on the main lake with occaisionally throwin'ripbaits. Did really good all day. Jesse caught a bunch(he lost count) and I landed 6 and unbuttoned 3. Biggest one all day was 3.3 pounds. The rest were all 1-2lbs.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Reaction bite is good in the morning. Slow down in the day. If you see mudlines in the day, throw a ripbait to em'. I freakin love those things.

Report: Spent the day with none other than the original "Wild Bill" from New York..This guy is a kick and a lot of fun to fish with so if you get the chance on one of his visits out here do so..Anyway, took him up to show him some Smallmouth. Crankbaits and senkos worked but the jig accounted for the majority of our fish in fast current. I'll post a picture of one of his fish. Great time , thanks Bill
      City: San Jose

Tips: We fished a 1/2 oz Brn/Brn jig for some decent bites on current breaks and eddies..A bomber crankbait is also getting bit. A lot of post spawn fish moving out toward the faster water up north with a good mix of Largemouth,Spots and Smallies right now.

Report: fished old river near the dam and up to whiskey, wind was incredible, white caps all day...spent alot of time just controlling the boat. wound up with 5, biggest a 3-7, damn wind pushed us so fast we couldn't keep the bait down. using sweet beavers in the tulies. scoped out some good cheese for froggin soon, just wish the wind would go away.

Report: Please dont talk about the quality of fish at my home lake. every year there are less and less bass being caught or even seen. If we advertize about the lake and its bass the fishing will only get worse due to the meat hunters. I am responsible for starting the x-mas tree planting along with Walton. The more the better but when you have helpers dumping trees killing 13lb bass it only makes me wonder just why we are trying to establish a better habitat for them. Please dont report big catches on this site although rare the meat hunters will come and we will have nothing left but carp and the hatchery cats and trout to catch.
      City: C V

Tips: Come help next Jan. we need 5o volunteers to help keep what bass we have left.
