Water Temp: not sure no tem
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Stockton Bass day today I wish I was in the tournament with some one. I got a late start this morning. Hit the water by 10:00 am. As a scout trip tried all my usual spots close to marina. No bites. Ran to Caleveris river no bites. Ran out to Windmill Cove. Finally hooked my only ish 1.5 lbs. at 1:30 pm in about 12 eet, mojo shotting a 4" zipper at the mouth o the cove next to Wind Mill Cove. I'd like to say thanks to the team that asked permission to ish around me. I here whats going on out in the water. I wish all anglers would be more polite with each other. No body owns a certain spot or even the Delta, only our Lord Jesus does who created us. Sorry, church tomarrow just getting in the mood. Any ways I'd like to say to the team I met,"I hope you did well and maybe hook up some day to ish with you."
City: StocktonTips: Water still cold to the touch. Work slow around channel area or try to ind warmer water. Windy conditions and weekend boat traic made a little tough or me today. Need to ind calmer water. Next time plan on heading or Big Al's and love to make the trip all the way back into 14 mile slough. I need a whole day though with just 20 hp Mercury.

Report: Went out again today to the same sloughs that we ished yesterday. A lot more windier today. Didn't catch any black bass today, but we limited out again with stripers (all 6 were in the 9-10 lb range). Not the quantity that we caught yesterday (only released 5 keeper stripers), but the quality was better. We ished the outgoing tide again (11:00A-3:00P).
City: DixonTips: Same strategy as yesterday and the same color o Rat L traps.

Report: Fished Sac. Bass Wranglers tourney on Saturday. Good job Glenn, you had the mojo with you!! I had a pretty good day with a limit or 11.96 lb. (good enough or second place.) First ish came on Norman DD-14 Chart./ blue on 4th or 5th cast on a rip rap steep bank on main body. Everything else came on 1/4 oz. darter head with 6" Green Ghost straight tail worms. all healthy & at and all up the river. Did not ind one location holding large numbers o ish; rather they seemed to be a pretty well spread out. Moving around to several secondary points seemed to be the ticket, at least or me. In all I caught 10 keepers but wasn't lucky enough to ind that kicker ish. The bite was pretty subtle, mostly just pressure while shaking, but once you set the hook they ought like heck. A beautiul day on the water. These ish seem like they're just aching to come up shallow and start doin' their thang!! Should open wide up within a week or two.

Water Temp: 51-54
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The Bass Classics o Santa Clara Valley had their tournament at Don Pedro on March 22 and we had a pretty tough time. There were only two limits caught out o 22 anglers. The winner with 11 lbs was Patrick McMurray he was ishing all the way in the back o Woods creek and caught 15 ish using Morning Dawn worms on a light Carolina rig with brass & glass. He was ishing rock piles and shale back in the skinny water in the back o the cove. The ish seemed to be sunning them selves on the rocks in shallow water. In second place was David Malley he was using Carolina rigged cotton candy lizards or three keepers and he had three on Spider grubs mostly in the same area near the ive mile bouys in Woods Creek and in between two points in 20-35 eet o water. In third was Izz Byrd he was using Carolina Rigged Senkos to catch his ish in the back o the Moccasson point Cove in 20 - 30 eet. He also had one o his three ish on a spider grub on the main lake on the side o a secondary point. There were also ish caught in Moccasson cove on Witches T worms also deep 20-30 eet in the creek channel. We all had a great time the night beore when orteen o our club members rented two houseboats that stay at the dock and we stayed the night playing cards and Bar-B-Q'ing steaks. It was only 100 per night or two nights and we split it between 6-7 guys so it was a good deal and very comortable. They provide all the blankets and sheets and everything to eat on and cook with, they have a microwave, a stove, and oven and two rerigerators and propane Bar-B-Que. We all recommend i you want to stay at Don Pedro the houseboats are a great way to do it. Right now they are haveing a sale beore the season starts.
City: FremontTips: Spider Grubs in the cinnomon Brown color and Carolina rigged lizards or worms but the majority o the ish were deep.

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: 49
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I took a very nice retired couple (they looked too young to be retired!) to the lake yesterday to teach them how to approach the lake and how to ish certain kinds o baits. It was a beautiul people day but not a good ishing day because o bluebird post-ront conditions and a pretty sti north wind. We started at 8:30 am, hoping the aternoon would be warmer leading to more active bass. That proved to be the case as we got more bites later in the day. I wanted to go to the south ork, but was araid o the wind, so we chose the middle ork. The bass were all suspended or on the bottom in deep water and had to be hit on the head to make them bite. It was tough or my clients to detect a bite in the wind, but they did manage to land 3 apiece on morning dawn and green craw worms and one on a white jig. Larry Hemphill used the "Hemphill" special jig mentioned by Clay on the previous report and was 1 or 8!!! Most o the jig "bites" yesterday were bass blowing them out - didn't even eel the pickup. Talk about ickle!! I did catch some on the Berkley Pulse Worm. We wound up with 11 in the boat and 4 o them over the slot - barely. The gentleman did get the biggest - probably about 1 3/4 lbs. I know these olks are ready to tackle the lake on their own and the ishing can only get better!
City: Yuba CityTips: I was really surprised to see just how tough it was, but that how winter ishing is - good or really slow. I was telling my clients that it will be better today and tomorrow at we will be having warm days and that will move the ish up some. The biggest bass was caught at the mouth o a creek, but most o the others were caught on walls with direct sunlight on them - something I always want to do in February and March. Deadsticking was working the best - just let the bait set or a second or two. Most were caught in 20 to 35 eet o water and appeared to be males. They sure were skinny!!
