Report: Bassn'it,

I was the guy that pulled out the 10lb40z fish. Up til that fish we were having about the same kind of day as you. About 5-8 fish off points. out of curiosity where is Rattlesnake cover. I haven't heard of that spot, but I've probably fished it since Anderson is not that big. Thanks

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished in windy cold conditions from 1-5 Pm. Caught 10 bass in shallow water 3-5ft using senkos and drop shot. Nothing big. Had one very large female on for about 3 head shakes before she said see ya. Not many boats or fishing activity due to the weather. The bite seemed to pick up late PM. It took a while to get a pattern figured out. Tried a little reaction with spinner and crank but nada.

Tips: Shallow with soft plastics on muddy banks.

Report: Well we gave Amador another try to see if we could find some big females got on the H20 at 6 am. and started throwing BBz swimbait and hollow belly with no luck threw these off and on all day and I am not going to stop utill I get that big girl I'am looking for.It started out a little slow we picked up 1 male on a weightless senko then picked up another here and their all males. we had 15 fish by noon mostly on dropshot nothing big about 2 lbs avarage but alot of fun we headed in for some lunch and stopped at a point real quick to try it and hung into a 5 lb trout the was thirsty for some margarita mutilator. left my buddy at the dock to fish for trout and headed back out with my brother we caught a few more and then at 5pm all hell broke lose and we got 7 in a row and a couple of doubles. it kept going like that until 10 pm and decided to call it a day lost count after 50 Mostly males a couple of females all fish were realesed except 2 trout I figured I had to take them to cover the 32 buck fee for two guys to fish.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Worst day of the year to fish Anderson. Got there at 2:30PM and found 64 bass tourn boats camped on every fishable spot on the lake. To add to the enjoyment it was cold and windy. After the weigh in the lake got quiet. I beat the shoreline for leftovers and caught 5 bass 2lbs or less in 3-15ft of water. They all looked thin. The largest was very light looking like he had been deep and just moved up. Caught 4 on dropshot and one on shakey head worm. Off the lake at 6:00. Not fun.
City: Foster City

Tips: Don't bother going to Anderson when there is a bass tourny in progress. Too many boats for too small a lake. Not one of those heros posted his catch on this site.

Report: My buddy and I fished from the shoreline near the bridge from about 4-6pm. We caught three in the 2-3# range off of tubes about 20 feet from shore. We had a few bites on the senko with my buddy landing about a 2#. We probably would've caught more but it was pretty damn windy.

Report: Went out sunday from 12:00OM to 6:00PM. Bite was wide open. Caught 23 fish on a combination of 1/4 oz shakey head with a 6 inch straight tail Aarons magic Roboworm, drop shot with 4 inch curly tail roboworm, and 1 fish on a crankbait. Fish were caught on main lake points and transitions from sand to rock or chunk rock to solid rock. Depth didn't seem to matter much, fish were caught from 6 inches of water to 23 feet. Most of the fish were in the 13-14 inch range, my largest was 2.5LBS. Good luck out there and be safe.

Tips: If heading out to Anderson, make sure your boat is bone dry, or you won't pass the mussel check. Check your livewells, bilge area and your motor.
Also check the website to ensure that your boat is registered in a county that is allowed on Anderson. Several counties and states are currently banned.

Report: A very slow day. Fred and I launched at 10 and left by 1400. Fred caught three, I caught zip.
There were 20+ trailers in the parking lot. Per Russ Snyder's recommendation caught 2 in the back of Packwood cove. 1 on a split shot MMIII, one on a cinnamon with purple flake Hula Grub. The third and larges 2# caught on a split shot MMIII against the west bank (rocks) south of the bridge.

Despite the rains the lake was very low @20' down. Left some nice spots high and dry. Put a couple of photos in the photo section/ "Other".
According the this article in the San Jose Mercury news http://www.mercurynews.com/valley/ci_11381307 The lake is at 63%. They may never fill it again due to concerns that an earthquake might cause the dam to fail resulting in massive flooding ... duh!

Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The first big storm of the year rolled through last week. It was quite cold and nasty. Once last weeks storm passed, it warmed up quite fast. Having three consecutive days of warm weather, I figured flipping wood should be a solid afternoon pattern.
We put the boat in around 12:30, and worked our way up the main lake, jumping from one piece of wood to the next. The water was still quite cold, 54 degrees, so we made sure to work our baits slow. Starting out with Brush Hogs and Jigs, we were unsuccessful. Finally after tying on a 6

Report: Finally, some rain. Charlie and I managed to get out and do some fishing just before our first big storm of the year. Because of the last few small storms, the water is already starting to dirty up. Our first stop was Packwood Cove. The bass are just starting their transition from winter to their pre-spawn mode. We caught a few two pounders fishing 10-15 feet just out from the spawning flat in the back of the cove. Small rock piles and wood were both holding fish. Towards the afternoon we worked our way up north. At each spot we would pick up a fish or two using tubes and jigs. Because the overcast conditions, brown/purple was definitely getting the most bites. The reaction bite still seems nonexistent. Just to check, when arriving to each new spot, we would pick up a swimbait, spinnerbait, or ripbait. After making a few dozen or so casts without getting bit, we would go back over the same piece of structure with either a tube or jig and catch a couple. Before heading in we spent the last hour fishing by the bridge at the south end of the lake. While most of the fish throughout the day seemed to be sucked tight to the bottom, below the bridge I saw some larger bass suspended at 20 feet. With the rain starting to come down hard, I positioned the boat beneath the bridge while tying on a weightless 5

Water Temp: 52

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Sure seems like it's going to be another dry winter. Lake Anderson seems like one of the few likes that might survive a rainless spring. The island top right outside the 5mph zone is still submerged, which means we have at least another 40 feet until the end of the ramp. Which isn't to bad for this time of the year. Other bodies of water such as Lake Oroville are in survival mode, 240 feet and dropping! Everyone needs to get outside and do a little rain dance.
Total of three people in the boat today. It's 11am and we shoot strait across the lake from the ramp, and start fishing a steep point. We miss 3 fish on a watermelon tube up shallow, 10-20 ft. We then head south and fish another point on the east bank. Tubes and drop shots produce a few, but nothing big. It's now 2:30 and we head to the bridge at the lakes south end. There were several bass holding off the steep rock wall just past the bridge, due to the fact in had been facing the sun gathering heat for the majority of the day. We caught a few smaller fish on plastics fished right up against the wall, but the larger fish seemed to be suspended off the wall about 10-15 feet. It looked perfect for a swimbait, but they wouldn't touch any of the dozen I threw at them. Heading back up the lake we caught a few more fish on plastics, but nothing over 2lbs. 12 fish for half a day was the days count.

Report: Only caught 2 dinks all day. One on a shakey head, the other dropshotting, both RoboWorm Aaron's Magic 35' off of a point. Only 5 or six boats on the Lake.

On the way back from the bridge a spotted a guy on a point trying to recover something from the water with a long stick. Motored over to him and saw that he was standing in his boxers with his clothes drying on the rocks beside him. I asked him if he need any help. In a Russian accent he said that a big fish had pulled his rod and reel into the lake. Asked him what he was fishing for and he said he was using corn for Carp. So I started casting across the point and dragging a spoon along the bottom. Snagged some 30# Stren and started pulling it in.

Sure enough, at one end was a 15# Carp and on the other was an Abu Garcia spinning rod and reel. He offered me the carp but I declined. Gave the whole mess back and had him take a picture of me holding the Carp. My biggest catch of the day.

Tips: Carp like corn ;)

On dark color roboworms. Just 3 other boats on the lake. One angler said he caught 4 dropshotting in deep water as well. Bites came late morning to early afternoon, then shut down when North wind kicked up about 1:40

Report: Fred and I caught about 9 between us, the biggest 2#. First tried the grass beds on the North end of the lake, eastern side. Only got a couple of dinks and one sunfish on worms. Nothing on frogs or chatter. Then went south and
fished the rocky western bank past the bridge.
Picked up the biggest of the day on a hula grub 2+#.
Fished the south end of the lake, caught my first one on my homemade lunker punker in trout pattern, how cool is that! Fred picked up a couple more on a shad crank. Fished seemed scattered, no real pattern. Pretty much got bit once on about everything we tried.

Water Temp: 64

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished for a few hours Sat morning. Started with top water and got about 5 blow-ups but only one fish on my frog along weed lines. The grass was hard to find and so were the fish. The only pattern I could describe would be mud lines and grass combinations very shallow 1-3 ft. Fish were all small. Tried spinner bait and crank but no reaction bite. Drop shot was the bait they wanted. Caught 9 fish.
City: Foster City

Tips: Fish shallow around any grass you can find. Also fish mud lines.

Water Temp: 70

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Ed and I get to the lake just as the gates open at 8am. While driving down the boat ramp, we noticed the five foot decrees from where the water line was a few weeks ago. Let me tell you, the water level was not the only thing that changed. The fish were behaving completely different compared to my recent trips. In spite of the warm weather, most of the grass has vanished. As a result of the grass dying off, the bass have really started to scatter. Points, coves, main lake, or the ends of the lake, wherever we went we picked up a few. The key right now is to find the bait that is balled up, whether that is in 5 or 50 feet.
The first two hours we moved fast and threw reaction baits, such as topwater, crankbaits, and ripbaits. Only catching a few small fish, we soon realized we needed to slow down. Using a 3 inch senko on a drop-shot Ed caught several fish, including one just under 5lbs and one just over 3lbs. At 5pm, before we headed in, we came across a school of bass busting bait. Casting poppers to the shaded main lake point we caught a few more, leaving the days total at around 20 bass.
