    Water Temp: 67.5

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: This past weekend I got to the lake late Friday afternoon. I set off to my
favorite cove for the late bite. I threw my chugger at least fifty times until
I got my first top-water fish and then for about an hour (from 8 to 9 PM) every
cast was action. The following day I went out with my wife and we used plastics
only for the bass. We caught a few and lost a few. The bite was tough because
the bass are on their nests and did not have any interest in feeding but only in
protecting the nests and teased us by moving the lines before we could set
the hook. I went out later in the evening with my friend Albert and we had better
luck. Once again I was looking for that evening top-water bite but nothing happened
until around 8:30 PM. I was throwing a chugger and Albert was throwing a Zaro Spook
and we just kept hitting fish. We landed a limit in no time. Fish were jumping all
around us but not all bass. During the day light Albert threw Cast Masters at the
boiling fish and they turned out to be trout. Hooking them was no problem for Albert
but he had a hard time landing them. It turned out to be a great night (see photos).
Sunday I went out for a couple of hours on my own. The wind had picked up and I
decided to troll most of the morning. I used a crankbait that only went down about
two feet and hooked up around nineteen trout. The water temperature ranged from
65 to 67.5 degrees. If next weekend is warmer, I look forward to a great fishing
weekend. In the photo Albert is holding an eight pound catfish. 'til next week..............

We found most of the fish were near the backs of cuts with grass and on the sides of points with chunk rock and a weedline. best five around 13lbs.off the water at 3 p.m. and bot traffic was picking up.
    City: knightsen,ca

Report: Hey guys, i just quickly need to ask if anyone's been catfishing at berryessa, or if you've heard any negative or positive reports of the conditions for catfishing right now. any advice helps: 'cause i'm going to berryessa this weekend for catfish using chicken liver, and i'm just wondering because the fishing report said there was no sign of cats, yet i know that some of those kinds of reports aren't always true. THANKS!!!!!!!

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: It was a beautiful weekend out at Berryessa. My friends and I loaded a bunch of gear in our boats and we camped out on the big island in the middle of the lake. We arrived Friday evening at around 4pm. We decided to fish skiers cove, and got on a decent top water bite. By the time in got dark David and I landed about 20 fish to 2.5 pounds. Saturday was a bit tougher because of all the extra fishing pressure and boat traffic. We went to the north-east corner of the lake. The topwater bite never happened in the morning for some reason. By 10am there wasn

Report: Took my two boys out for a trip to the lake. Started them out with a mojo rigged baby brush hog watermellon red flake. I was throwing a vixen topwater. Ended up with 15 on the brush hog and 6 on topwater. Most fish were Berryessa specials 1.5-2.25 lbs. My older son did however get into a 4 pounder on the brush hog and was able to get his first bed fish at 3 lbs. Dad had to get in on some of the fun and I was able to get a 7.5 lb bed fish. Best 5 over 19lbs. Great day on the lake even better when it is shared with your sons.
    City: Vacaville

Tips: All the brush hog fish cane on the inside edge of the weed lines main lake 10 -15 ft. Topwater fish came on the sides of the points. The water is very clear so long casts are a must. Not much of a reaction bite clear water and little wind. There were alot of empty beds but some fresh fish were moving up and looking. Take a kid fishing.

Report: Went to East side in the morning and picked up a few spots. Found one point they were holding and picked up 5-6, biggest 2.6lbs, all spots on drop shot and crank. Late morning moved to west side but all dinks. All of the small fish were smallies. Majority of fish all spots in 15-20'. Threw a brown garlic worm and caught a trout on first cast. They were on a feeding spree today after yesterdays high winds.
    City: south San Francisco

Tips: Drop shot robo worms (brown) in the am. Later switch to white kinami worms on drop shot. All fish were holding off points. Looks like spots are on move to spawn.

    Water Temp: 60-62

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Since I was at Pardee yesterday, I thought I was there again today - it has been many moons since I have seen Berry this clear. Glad we fished today - tomorrow morning many be a record low. Nice Spring we are having! I was prepared for the worst as far as wind goes as I met my clients at Markley today. It was bad most of the day, but the lake went dead calm about 11 am at the mouth of Wragg Canyon - weird! About an hour later it was back at it - even worse. In spite of the winds we had a very nice trip. My clients were very new to bass fishing but picked up techniques very quickly and did well in the wind! We Texas rigged and split-shotted Robo worms in morning dawn and warmouth colors and wacky rigged #301 Senkos. We fished about 7 hours and moved around alot but still managed 19 bass for a 10 lb plus limit. A near 3 lb largemouth was the biggest. They caught all the quality fish except one, starting in the afternoon after it warmed a bit. Most bass were deeper - 10 to 20 feet. We could not see any shallow fish.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: Almost like summer, we found some of the quality bass on windy points that had a mud line. We checked out the backs of several major coves - not much there. Most fish were back on walls and major points. Wind and murky points were the best pattern. We only fished the narrows. Didn't think we needed to take a chance on the main body. Nice trip!!

    Water Temp: N/A

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got out on the water about 1:30 on friday just looking for bed fish. Caught one, but didn't see many. The fish I had on beds the week before had moved off with the water dropping. I went out to the Narrows and I switched to a jig and did okay. I caught 13 on a green jig and than towards the evening in the wind, I got on a good rip bite and had a blast for a while. I caught 16 across from Wragg Canyon and two others come unbuttoned at the boat. I also had a lot follow it in the clear water, but not strike. Not much for size, but I did have fun. I think a crank would have worked, but I just couldn't put the rip down and was sad to see the sunset since I was having so much fun.
    City: Fairfield

Tips: Just get out there! Reaction on the windy banks and I caught a lot of my fish on a jig in the pockets between the points or the sides more so than the actual point.

    Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Took another client out on Wednesday, what a change from last week. It was very windy and cold. The fishing started off slow, because we were fishing the same pattern as last week. The cold front and dropping water level had moved the fish off the beds
and into deeper water. We adjusted to the changes by getting the boat next to the bank and throwing out towards deeper water.this worked great,The fish were still in spawning areas, but they just moved off the beds into deeper water. When the lake level is dropping bass position themselves, facing out, towards deep water. We caught 42 bass ,after the adjustment. We caught them on brown worms and swimbaits. In the afternoon some the fish started to moved back up to the beds., so we did get to do some sight fishing.I have two trips booked for Don Pedro this weekend, so look there for a report.
    City: Livermore

Tips: Fish in spawning areas; Hardbottom, wind protected, sunny

    Report: Subject: Fishing with Sid
    Date: Sun, 13 Apr 2008 23:20:35 -0700

The weekend ending April 13th was great fishing. Friday I took Travis out for
a day of non stop fishing. We caught over 25 fish which included bass, crappie
and trout. It seemed like everything was biting. Our success with the bass was
that anything we threw out they were going for. They were hitting crankbaits,
plastics you name it and it worked. This coming Sunday, April 20th, will be the
full moon and I think this weekend should be even better. I won't be able to fish
this coming weekend as I will be out of town but I hope to hear some good reports
on how it went. Please check out the photos of some of the fish we caught.
    'til next time........................................................good fishing!!!!!!!!!!

Report: Gin clear water! i went yesterday with my bro and my buddy and his dad and caught 5 fish, with a 3 pound smallie at best. my bro caught 2 largies and i caught a 2 and a half pound LM, who struck my night crawler out of aggresion 9 feet off shore, as I hovered it over his rock bed.(the water is so clear I could see him take it). IMPORTANT: the bass are at the BRINK of starting to spawn- with evidence from my previous sentence. the best shore fishing at least, is probably this ONE tiny cove at OAK SHORES. fish here!
    City: el cerrito

Tips: USE WATERMELON BLACK FLAKE ZOOM mini-lizards catch the bass well. another bass was caught on a green roboworm and the smallie was caught on a firetiger little cleo. i'd say just try the lizard.
