    Report: Hey not much rain up here.On the water 8:30am Second ish 3/1/2 lbs. Spot. Fish were happy except or the ones with hooked soar jaws HA!!!!Five ish total 12lbs was a good day with total o (16) ish or the day.5 Spots 1 largemouth 10 smallies.All on darthead 4'Red and 5'Worms.Day was better than last week with a riend 11 ish all day.

    Report: Launched out o Capell cove about 2:15pm and across the lake to skiers cove and started throwing a 1/4oz brown jig w/ craw trailer, no bites on the jig. High og had burned o by 1:00 and the sun was shining good, igured the ish might come up a little shallower with the weather. Started throwing a lucky crat aurora crawdad colored crankbait, ound 3 spots in about 8 to 10 eet o water. Found them all near cover. Nothing real big, one spot was a little over 2 lbs, the ish are really white right now, the water is still a little cold. Get ready or the lake to start turning on. O the water by 4:45pm with 3 ish.

    Report: Monday aternoon ater the 4th, should be deserted. Nope. Lots o activity. Regardless I wanted to night ish so I dinked around till dark drop shotting here and there. A couple o small smallie's nothing to write home about. I'm glad Larry wrote his report because I thought something was wrong with me. I missed every single hit I had ater dark. Not suttle hits either, a couple o the jig hits I could eel in my teeth. So I thought perhaps small ish but on Two I elt the ish or that raction o a second beore the hook up ails and they elt heavy. Dont't know either.

    Tips: Jigs and 8" grubs in 15 oot or so on points. Every good point had 100 t water within a cast away. One point - this is not a lake to learn night ishing. There are no lights on the shore to use or navigation and it eels spookey at times. Remember to let someone know where you are and your return home time.

    Report: Be careul out there! I started walking the bank at 5:30 in the morning. Caught 2 small bass on topwater and then noticed that I'd also caught 5 ticks!!! Watch out i you're on the shore! I ound 2 on me, decided to leave, and by the time I got to the truck there were 3 more. They're all over the place. I wouldn't even go unless I was in a boat. Good luck to you though. The ishing is good, there were a lot o shad getting busted on in the shallows. Also... elkgrove bass is looking or members. members.aol.com/elkgrovebass

    Report: guided a guy and gal rom washington, and manages about a dozen or so ish each day. we caught ish rippin points, dartheadin yamamoto twin hulas, and single tale grubs. the bite was tough, and we didnt see alot o ish on beds yet. the lady on the trip, who was not only a trooper, but she was a darn good stick as well. we missed our share o ish, but i think the ront had alot to do with it. thanks dave and inger, had a great time with ya both !

    Tips: hit points with rip baits and dartheads... slow movement with the darthead... rip rip and a 2-3 second pause with a lucky crat pointer rip bait.... most o the spots were spitting up shad !

    Report: Fished Markley, Wagg Canyon, and then North or the remainder o the aternoon. Got on the water about 3:00 and o at dark. Only one other boat bass ishing that I saw. Not alot o bass moving shallow and I saw NO beds;however the other bass isherman said he saw a 15+ but could not get her to go. I ended up with a 6.2 lb. senko ish ( up north) and another senko ish at 3.0 and lost a big girl in the canyon. I got short hit on a senko and saw the ish lare. I waited a minute, probably more like 30 sec,and pitched a ika peged and tex-posed into the same area. Tic and I set hard with the problem being the ish was taking drag into a tree top. I stoped the spool with my thumb and unortunately broke o 14lb. Sugi lorocarbon. The pits. total o 8 ish with the top 5 around 13lbs.

    Tips: I do believe the ish are on beds but are VERY selective on where. Don't waste alot o time looking where it is easy. For the tourn. boys on Sunday there are some big ish irmly locked in on beds, getting her to go is another story. My irst topwater ish o the year this trip, zara spook and all small mouth, 4 ish right at dark. Good luck on Sunday and i anyone has any great tips on Folsom let me know, I'm on the line or sat.

    Report: Here are the details on the new lake record.Neal Halter o Fremont, CA, landed a 20 lb. large mouth bass outside o Pleasure Cove. The bass was 30 inches in length. Neal used a green Crawl Winnie or bait. He said he worked his great catch or 1 hour beore he was able to get it into the boat. This breaks the old record catch by Delbert Abrams o Vallejo. He held his record o 17.5 lbs. and 28.3 inches since 1988.

    Report: this report is not much dierent than therest, but i it helps someone, here it is...started ishn around 9am with 20mi N. windsmakn the main body not un. since me andand my buddy ("mouth") are wusses we opted orthe ew spots that were sheltered rom thecool winds. we made three times the normalcasts in the areas we ished and we learnedthe meaning o ishn slooow, as all o the ish we caught were either dead-stickn or repeated casts into the same area...all ishwere caught on plastics (maybe cuz that's allwe tried) and were in 15' to 20'. oh, "all ish" equals 4 keepers (2 spots and 2 lmb's).on 7 bites total...nice ishn day, but justa air catchn day....

    Tips: you know them reports that say i you thinkyou're ishn slow, ish slower....do that, especially i you eel structure on the bottom in about 15' to 20' depths....

    Report: Got on the water about 2:00pm out of Markley cove. I was sort of suprised to see the water skiers and jet ski crowd still at it. I limited myself to three baits, a super spook, carolina rig with a 4 inch "pinkie", and a #350 Tenn. shad luckey craft crank bait. My usual points were not holding bait fish altough I did have a BIG blowup on the spook by a brush top just inside the mud line. It was more of a defensive slap rather than groceries. That was at 2:30. I am learning to trust my electronics more so every year. Great point in the past, no fish on the finder fish it anyway and nata. Go to a different point, nice archs on the finder and bam, a fish or two and we are off to another point. Great topwater bite, total of 5 spook fish the largest just at dark, at 3.8 lbs. Also had a little over a 3lb. spot that became my dinner after inhaling a super spook down into her gullet. I put her in the live well and she did't make it. Fortunately I've not forgotten how to clean a fish. The crank produced 4 small 13 inch or so fish and Mr. pinko gave me a couple of under sized dinks. Only saw one other bass boat and Maggie my 1/2 English Setter other 1/2 Beaver had a blast.

    Tips: Trust your electronics, no arches don't even put the trolling motor down.I found the fish to be really scattered out and all on main points with nothing in the coves, secondary points, or futher back in the arms. Day in day out top water

    Report: just a quick note on my trip here sat...went with my son and first cast was @6:15 pm. five casts later hooked and lost a 2# on a spook. 10 casts later boated a 2# on a jerk bait. i was happy and my son ate alot..we set out the lights and started night fishing.3 hrs and 6 spots later equalled nada bites. finally caught 5 keeper fish on one spot from 10 to 20 ft on plastics....a beautiful night; caught a few fish, one on one with my son, and he caught up on his sleep.

    Tips: typical of this time of year is the dropping water levels for winter...makes bass catching tougher than normal...keeping moving to find active fish or bait.

    Report: went to try our luck nite fishn. got some some topwater action just before dark. fished til 10:30 and used topwater and plastics and resulted in a few light bites and no fishes. the moon was too full and too bright i believe. had a little excitement tho, as we were stopped and check by game wardens. they checked us as thoroughly as if were at the airport or something.

    Tips: hard to offer and advice based on no catching. when its too bright, fish deeper and look for banks where there are shadows.

    Report: Fished the lake with a couple of buddies Friday night til about 2:30 Saturday morning. We boated 14 fish, with 5 of those coming before dark. All fish caught before dark came on crankbaits. All fish after dark came on a Berkeley pulse worm 4". Had a number of other bites throughout the night, but the fish seemed to be short striking. Biggest fish was only 2 lbs.

    Report: went night fishing june 29..launched at montecillo at 6:30 and went directly across to the east side in search of some likely spots to fish when darkness fell..there was a pretty good westerly breeze and combined with the boat wakes made for rocky fishing..hooked some jerk fish but they didn't stay on...searched some more and went to calmer waters to throw topwater, but no takers..by now darkness started to fall and we pulled out our night stuff and neated up the boat so me, my son or my buddy wouldn't hook ourselves or trip and fall over...intially nothing much, than we hooked a couple on plastics and missed a couple as my fishin' buds were checking the dark skies for shooting stars and satellites.(which they saw a few)..then on 3 successive casts, i boated a 2#, missed a non-shaking, but SURGING fish which just unbutton and then boated a 4#! we were starting to get excited, cause the fish were turning on and we still hadn't fished our 2 best spots..but mother nature started to blow from the north and changed our game plans...figured it be best to go back across and hide behind BIG island. made a long drift the resulted in one 14 incher and another missed fish (too many stars)...too much wind and quit at 12:30 a.m...final tally: 8-10 fish up to 4# with 4 dinks...excptfor the wind it was very mild...i was still in shorts while driving home @ 1 am....one last cast......the worm

    Tips: all the fish were caught on plastics, something with a tail; grub, brush hog, twin tail jig...best depth seemed to be 10-15'.

    Report: Hit water Sat. at 7am, ran over to flats, one smallmouth on topwater. Then up to north end and worked plastic from 10 to 15 ft, caught 3 more, off water by noon. Back out around 5pm, but only for about 1hr, buddy forgot to charge up batteries,duh! Caught 2 more in the mudline on plastics during that hour though... Went out sunday am fished pretty hard for 4hrs., with only two small dinks to show for it. Nothing seemed to be working sunday, bummer, cause it was a pretty nice day, quit early to watch race at Sears Point, congrats to Ricky Rudd for hanging around to pick up a win.

    Tips: Reds and browns on splitshot seemed to get more bites, but the bigger fish all came dragging doodling rigs.

    Report: Decided to try an afternoon on Berryessa out of Markley cove. Wrong move. Got in line to launch at Markley at 4:30pm and got in the water at 5:45. So many water lice that the mud line from each shore joined in the center, tough fishing but managed 3 smallmouth to about 2.5lbs ( did not weigh them) on a rico. Nothing on jig, worm or crank baits. Weekdays only for this guy for the rest of the summer.

    Tips: Top water bite in 15ft over submerged islands, main body which was the only clear water I could find. Two hours of cranking and pitching a jig into the mud lines did not produce. I only saw one other bass fisherman. Now I know why.

    Report: went this past wed and hit the water by 5:30 and caught fish just past the 5 mi bouy at capell's. went to the eastside and caught a few more...nothing big, but decent 1-2lbs..most fish we on topwater and jerk baits....quit at noon with about 10 fish released.

    Tips: like devin says go early or expect VERY slow fishing..the fish have been gorging on shad for about 3 weeks, so switch baits or colors if you're not getting bit...they can be very finnicky this time of the year.....

    Report: i've fished 3 times in the past 3 weeks and have had good success in the early am throwing topwater and jerk baits...the fish are definitely relating to bait. i've been lucky and have found a few pockets of baits with fish on them...in between its pretty slow. a week ago most of the active fish were smallies, yesterday i also caught largies also....in afternoons i've caught a few fish on wind blown points jerkin' and with a few others draggin plastic at 25-30'.

    Tips: definitely seems like summer...go early and cover water until you find fish either shallow or on your graph. there is to much empty water to fish slow.
