City: LINCOLNTips: MAIN LAKE POINTS AND BLUFF WALLS. IF YOU CAN'T CATCH THEM HERE GIVE UP FISHING!!!!!!!!

Water Temp: 74-79
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Caught some nice 3 lb. 17" spots fishing tubes in about 15-20 feet. Fish were just off bottom hanging under schools of baitfish. Their bellies were gorged. Hadn't fished this lake in 2-3 years. There are definately some better quality fish in here now.
City: RenoTips: Downsizing for this lake always seems to work better.

Water Temp: 77-80
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I have started to fish this lake as an alternitive to Lake Orovile to give my repeat clients a change of pace. After a few trips here I find this to be hidden treasure. I brought a couple of clients here Sun. and after going through the usuall colors to find what they wanted to eat, the Morning Dawn was the meal ticket. The guys were on fire for the morning and picked back up afer lunch. In the afernoon the jig bite picked up in the mud lines at about 20-30ft. Bass ranged from 1/lb. dinks to 2-3/4 to 4-1/2lbs. Best 5 bass went around 12lbs.
City: ParadiseTips: Try to fish in the week and avoid the weekend. The lake will settle afer school starts. Best time to fish 530am-11am.

Report: Went back to this lake for more fun. I anticipated a good bite due to cloud cover. It did not happen. No fish on points, all fish caught in coves. My wife caught 5 Spots to my one. She caught hers dragging a grn pumkin lizard. I caught mine dragging a salt/pep leech. No reaction bite. Tried Spinner baits, Wake baits, and Cranks.

Report: This lake is the best kept secret of Nor Cal. Free launch and good sized spotted bass. Unlike past trips the fish seemed to have gotten bigger. My best five went 10 Lbs. That's not counting the 4lber that I brought to the boat foul hooked on a rip bait. The lake was beautiful multiple falls running into the lake.
City: W.SacTips: My bigger fish came on reaction lures: spinner bait and rip bait.

Water Temp: Unknown
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Made the 3 hour trek for a houseboat trip. Staff here is really friendly and I had a great time. I'll definitely be back.
The bass fishing on the other hand is annoying. I read the previous reports and thought, "How can there by no big fish in the entire lake?" Well, I caught almost 20 bass and nothing was over .75 lbs. To make matters worse, these bass are experts at ripping your worm off your hook. I must have gone through 3 bags of Senkos easily.
Plenty of bites. I fished mainly off of points looking for drop offs. Did the same around the marina area near the docks and there were lots of bass there, all spotted bass.
City: San MateoTips: Went initially with the weightless t-rigged senko. Color wasn't much of a factor, but I threw mostly dark colors. I kept hook setting and I would have half of my worm eaten to the edge of the hook. Switched to wacky rig and had better luck boating fish. IF I come back, I'd probaby drop shot roboworms. I think you'd get a better hook set ratio and they're cheaper than senkos!!! Good luck.

Water Temp: 67-72
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I gave this lake one more shot to see if I could find any bass bigger than 1.5 lbs and I was dissapointed. Either we caught 30 fish or we caught the same fish 30 times, I don't know. All spotted bass. All really skinny and nothing over 1.25 lbs. I am really bummed about this. It's fun to go out there and fish, don't get me wrong, but after catching dink after dink, your hope kinda fades. Oh well, my kids came with me and they had fun, so it was worth it. You can go out there right now and catch at least 50 bass per day if you wanted to, but don't expect anything big. Everything we threw worked to some degree because the spots are so aggressive, but the smaller plastics had better results. The water was gin clear, so it was a lot of finesse fishing, not exactly my favorite thing to do, but hey, I got to get and and fish and the lake is gorgeous and uncrowded this time of year.

Report: Westside anglers fished our July tourn. at BB. 18 boats showed up. Only three limits were weighed in. Top weight was 5 @ 4.6lbs, second was 5 @ 3.9 and third place was 5 @ 3.2lbs. Most of the fish were caught on plastics around mud lines. Big Fish was 1.35lbs. (where are all the big fish?) Hopefully we will try a different time of year next year.
City: ChicoTips: Downsize, Downsize, Downsize and fish mudlines. Browns and pinks caught most of the fish.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Trolled the western shoreline from 7 am to about 10:30 am. Caught 3 keeper Kokanee using pink needlefish behind a dodger at a depth of about 30-35 feet. Switched over to bass fishing at about 11:00 and worked the eastern shoreline, spending most of our time in willow creek cove. Boated, and released, 10 or so spotted bass, all 1 to 2 pounds. T-rigged worms and drop shotting were working for us. Bites ocurred off steep drop-offs. I went out the next day and fished from shore in Dark Day Cove. Caught 3 spotted bass and missed 2 more in about 3 hours fishing plastic worms on a lightweight T-rig. Spots are all over the place, but where are the largemouth?
City: VacavilleTips: Got more bass bites on the smaller baits. They bit nothing but worms, but ocassionally, they would nip at a small tube. The lake is loaded with spotted bass. You can catch big numbers of small spots working points and ledges. I saw bigger fish (maybe 4 pounds plus) cruising in schools just below the surface in Willow Creek, but they were spooky and didn't like anything we had to offer. Based on the spotted bass we were catching, I'm guessing the larger fish we saw were likely smallmouth.

Water Temp: 76
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Cal and I fished this lake this afternoon. On the water around 5pm. Water was great, Cal put a LM on his first cast with a crankbait. We fished just about everything we had in the box today and fish hit it (no spinner bait or buzzbait bites). Largest fish was just above 1.5lbs. This lake is beautiful and the people are great, very friendly and polite with thier boats. See ya tomorrow on Collins.
City: Plumas LakeTips: Be very careful on the plastics. Many of the fish we caught on them we felt nothing just saw line movement and they aready had the hook in the gullet (had to perform surgery on a few but they made it out alive).

Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: fished the north part of the lake for a change all the way up to the no wake zone. We were looking for smallies and my son got one right away, about 1 1/2 lb then it was a spot fest from then on we put 76 fish in the boat between the 3 of us, nothing over 2 lbs though. But still alot of fun, cranks, small tubes, and small grubs, We missed alot of fish as they were slashing at the bait. It was as if they were trying to kill the bait instead of eating it. Fish were bunched up in spots. Mostly in the back of small coves or cuts a few off the points.
City: b-villeTips: dark colored tubes, grubs, worms in 4 inch

Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: fishing is still good, but with the clear weather and sunny skys it was a bit slower. Cranking ripbaits and small tubes were the main baits we used. Most all our fish came off main points on the main part of the lake, no to many in the back of the coves or into the arms but a few. Fish were scattered from the bank down to 50 feet no real pattern. Lost a few fish that felt really healthy, nothing in the boat over 1 1/2 lbs.
City: brownsvilleTips: i am going to try collins real soon maybe this week

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: saturday turned out to be a nice day got down to the lake at about 11 fished till 5. most of our fish came off steep points, cranking, small tubes, and brushogs. biggest went 2.5 all in all we got about 20 to 25 fish between me and my son, he had me down 7 to 3 early on, but the old man came back and put a whoopin on him late in the day. Took us awhile to find the fish, when you do find them they seem to be bunched up in one spot. All fish released to catch another day.
City: brownsvilleTips: brushogs down about 20 feet off points

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: made a couple more trips to fish, did pretty well considering how cold it was. As far as this persons comments on the previous report before mine, My private bass lake was meant as a joke!!!! so lighten up. i seldom see anyone else fishing there for bass and i go almost every week. Second of all i cleaned my fish at home and didnt know they were full of eggs when i left the lake with them, so i am no longer taking them home to eat. And yes fish are used for food and there is nothing wrong with eating them. And from what i understand from fish and game, bass have been in this lake from the beginning of time. So you dont know what you are talking about. I post my email address with my reports so if you have a problem email me directly and dont use this report page to air your ignorance. And for the nice people if you need any advice on how to fish or where for bass on this lake i would be glad to help. jon

Report: I guess i post these for my own enjoyment. Havent posted one for a while and even though there is snow on the mountain i went to bullards to just do some fishing and i am glad i did, had my son with me and we got about 15 bass or so, took 10 home and made tacos they were great. Ty got the biggest 2, both went 14 1/2 inches and were fat. Most of our fish went 13 inches, looks like they have been feeding on crawdads. Some of our fish had eggs maybe they were going to spawn early. Who know's.
City: B-VILLETips: Tried cranking to no avail, caught all our fish on tubes fishing points. Nice to know even in the middle of winter my private bass lake still produces.

Report: Anyone catching any Kokanee?
City: West Sacto. -
Water Temp: 60 - 64
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Took my son out to catch some fish for dinner and had an awesome day dropshottin' about 50 fish. All were the typical Bullards clones (12") and fried up nicely, but did see one I estimated to be around 4#. Alot of fish cruising the banks and suspending out over deeper water. Fished alot of different areas with incoming water being a key ingredient.
City: RosevilleTips: SMALL worms dropshotted or darterheaded in about 15 to 25 feet. During mid day, fish out to where the bottom disappears. Clarity is about 20' and the fish move out to this depth once the sun hits the water. All of the fish I cleaned were eating bugs and aquatic larvea, but no minnow or rawdad type food. Lake is very sterile with little or no forage base for the bass to grow. No wonder the growth rate of these fish is so poor
