Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished down south looking to establish some kind of LM pattern.... tough for me to stay focused when the linesides are in....Got bit everywhere I went on just about everything I threw,, but no size. Buzzbait, spinnerbait, chatterbait, rat-l-trap, speed trap, DD14, jigs and senko's.. Got em tight to the bank, outside weed lines, deep ledges ,in the current, out of the current, high water, low water.... a few 2.5's and one 3 with bunches of rats.. Maybe 12 pounds for best five. I know the bigguns are out there, I saw the weights last weekend, just not for me..
Still pretty good water clarity and the dams will be up till about the 20th..
    City: Tracy

    Tips: Catch more stripers!

    Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Big Break at 7am, Ran into a fog bank on the river. Slowly made my way up into Dutch Slough, We were going to go for stripers, and had some luck on scoolie sized ones from 18-24 inches. when the tide went slack the stripers stopped biting.
I saw some comotion off of a tule point and fired a swimbait over there. Much to my delight it was whacked by a bass, after that we were bass fishing. We got maybee 15 bass, nothing big, but alot of fun.
    City: Suisun City

Tips: look for tules with deep water right next to them, look at the current and pitch your baits in all the protected pockets.
rememeber a fat bass is lazy, she don't want to fight the current......

    Water Temp: Clear, cold

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the north delta in my favorite slough. Maybe due to cold ass day, the fish turned off. No Bass caught. No Strippers caught. Did catch 2 nice crappies on a DT-10 Rapala in bluegill patern. Also snagged a little Catfish in belly. Then comes the whopper. Buddy hooks to what thought to be a huge stripper, surfaced to become an ugly, stinky 20lb CARP. CARP was accidentally snagged in the bottom bass of tail fin while trolling swim bait. Since 1 guy said to report even the lowest ugliest CARP, I thought I might share my carp story as it was the only highlight of the day's trip.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: I look at it this way. Carps produce babies that feed our more sought after fishes, Bass and Strippers. I have heard stories of people shooting carp with shotguns. I have seen people toss carp onto banks to kill them. WHY? Carps do not share the same food source as bass or Stripers so there is no competition. Carps clean the bottoms of the waterways and is a vital part of the systems food chain. Give them some respect. Nicely throw them back in the water next time you catch one so it continues to help clean and supply our fishery.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tom Erickson and I have been on the Delta for the last two days trying to find some big bass. The tide is slow and so are the fish. Most of our fish came on cranking the main rivers and some on Senkos, brush hogs.

Tips: Keeping fishing and good luck.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: The stripper fishing has been good to great. Live bait is working well. Also the famous Hair Razor has been dominating the stripper bite.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished today at low tide and after a full moon. Hooked four bass from 15 to 17-inches in 12 feet of water in front of weed beds. All on drop shotting.
    City: Novato

Tips: No tips. I'm just trying to learn to fish the Delta.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Keep up the striper reports. Sometimes the LM and SM don't want to cooperate and the stripers are eating every thing that is in front of them. Some one has obviously not caught a 20lbs+ striper on a crankbait, or topwater or even live bait for that matter.
    City: NorCal

Tips: Don't dictate what people want to talk about.

    Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got out late and launched off from Lazy-M before noon. Bite was very slow for both crank and plastic. Managed to get a few keepers under 2 lbs with the new swimming white senko. Slow retrieve with the fish hitting soon after the cast. Tried every crank with now success. Fished til sunset hoping for some striper topwater action, but nada. Very dissapointing day with anticipation for the next weekend. :-(

Tips: not much to offer except that plastic seemed to get some fish.

    Water Temp: 58-59

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Was excited about getting back to the delta after a month, but it turned out to be a pretty slow day. I'm sure the clearing pattern and north wind after the storm didn't help, but still expected a better bite. We fished the Whites, Bishop and Disappointment area and probably managed a 12 pound limit at best and that was anchored by a 6'1 we hit on a rattle trap. We also nailed two striper. One small and one about 7 pounds.Junk fishing was the rule. Caught fish on a bounch of different lures, but no pattern. The best part of the day was pulling up to a spot and seeing a guy puliing out huge crappie. We just so happened to have our crappie jigs with us, but only had 10 pound test for our lightest line. It didn't matter, as we smoked the crappie up to 1 1/2 pounds for the next hour until it was time to go home. Wish we would have started on them earlier.
    City: Roseville

Tips: Going to head to the middle delta next weekend. The east area water is really dirty unless it's high tide. I know some guys that have been on a really good swim bite in the disappointment area, but we could not get it to go. Other than that we had the kind of day I have been hearing about. One good fish and then not much to go with it. Good luck.

    Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I took my partner out today to chase some stripers again. First thing in the morning, we pulled up to a spot I usually do pretty well on. After about 15 cast we had our first blow up and our first fish, a 13-lb striper. We fished the remainder of the out going tide (about 2-hours) and had 10 more blow ups and caught 5 fish between 5 and 10-lbs. We tried a couple of other areas unitl the tide started to move back in. We went back to our first spot and on my third cast I caught a 18-lb striper. We fished for a while longer catching a couple of undersize stripers and decided to head in by noon. Another good day on the water. We caught all all fish on topwater baits, except for one with a swimbait. The overcast skies along with the water clarity allowed us to keep fishing with topwater baits.
    City: Suisun

Tips: Mark bait fish and larger fish in deep water and then fish the flats close by. It has been working for me.

    Water Temp: 60-63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: This is a little late. But I'm bored at work. Went out Last Saturday and caught a pretty good crankin' bite. Fished from Disco bay, up to the San Joauqin looking for stripers and large mouth. Lots of Schoolie Stripers in one of the elbows of Idian Slough Frist thing in the morning. They were small guys though. Rattle Traps along weed lines picked up largemouth. Lots of dinks. Caught a few pitchin sweet beavers and jigs in heavy current pushin' up to the tullies. No size though. Biggest Largemouth was caught in one of the entraces to franks tract on the north end along the weed lines, 4.8 pounds(good job Jerry). FOund a school of stripers bustin on the way back to Orwood south of Holland's cut. Rat'l-traps got em first. Then threw a white swimbait, let it sink to the bottom, reel in slowly and they'd bite every cast until they left the slough. Largest was about 5 pounds and a lot in the 2 to three pound range. Looked for them in the same spot next day same time and they weren't there. Good delta double header day.
    City: San Jose

Tips: Don't use trout poles to catch stripers. Don't use trout poles in franks tract.(jerry did bring in a four pounder in the current through the weeds with 8 lb test on a light spinning rod though) just don't do it again. DOn't fish hung over. Charge your trolling motor battery before you drive an hour and a half to get the stripers in the current. when all else fails throw a ratl trap chrome and blue, baby shad, chrome and black. Swimbaits provided from fishermans warehouse were the ticket when we found a school of stripers. see you guys out there on SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Report: Went out today started at about 11:30am-12:00pm and stayed in piper. I fished Brown and Purple jigs it seemed for the deeper fish sortly after it touched bottom they would hit the jig. Deepest I caught was about 18-20ft but most were in the 12-17foot range. I caught a few in 4-6ft of water. They seemed to want the jig to be moveing a little bit. Best 5 went 12lbs 12oz biggest was 4lbs.
    City: Russo's

Tips: Fish the docks with a brown and blue jig if they arent eating the jig in the fall down twich it a few times and hang on!!

    Water Temp: 67

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I hope you guys are talking about the fish which is spelled with one "p". Two "p's" refers to an activity involving poles without guides or reels and five dollar bills. The thought of Stripper man perusing Disco Bay at night is a little frightening. As for the Fish, STRIPERS are filling into the system nicely, but not in great numbers yet. This storm while a little warm, should help. Some topwater action on spooks and large poppers in and around Mildred. Some in the elbows on Indian slough where bait can stack up. Only 2's and 3's spooning yet as the schools don't seem very dense. I have not done well trolling, but have talked to some who have done well in shallow water before first light.
    City: Discovery Bay

Tips: Use your electronics and binoculars to look for schools. If you are thinking of eating a Striper check this link first. http://www.oehha.ca.gov/fish/general/99fish_part2.html. Thanks Mike for the word on Bluegill

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I went out with Randy Pringle to chase some stripers. We had a great morning using topwaters, swimbaits and roadrunners. We pulled up to our first spot and on the first cast we had a blow up, followed it up with a swimbait and the fight was on. This action continued for two and half hours in this one spot. We had over 20 blow ups with 10 keeper stripers ranging in size from 10-lbs to 15-lbs. We also had three double hook ups. We took a few pictures, kept a couple and decided to go chase small and large mouth bass for the rest of the day. Everytime I go fishing with Randy I learn a few more things. This man knows the Delta and where to find the fish. It was an awesome day.
    City: Suisun

Tips: The only adive I can give is to have a follow-up bait ready to throw if they miss the topwater.
