Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished with a friend from Columbia cut to North Victoria. Caught lots of small fish on Chatterbaits going from 1 to 2 pounds. All the fish were on the outside edges of weed lines. Our better fish came flipping into hyacinth with a Senko rigged with a screw in Florida weight. Best fish went just under 4 pounds. Got several frog blowups but no hookups. Best five would have been about 12 pounds.
City: Fair OaksTips: Senko with a 1/2 oz screw in Florida rig weight goes through hyacinth easily. Spray the Senko with your favorite scent to give it extra lubrication for slipping through the thickest stuff.

Report: Did a pre-fish and tournament (Hook series) this weekend with Eric Thoss..Launched Saturday afternoon nad headed south for the areas around Holland..Fished the points around entrances to cuts and such, all on the slack and out going tide..Caught a few, largest around 5 but mostly non keepers..Lost the steering on the way back in, but was able to get it fixed while on the water ensuring we could get out the next day for the tourney..Launched Sunday morning for the tourney and headed south again, the tide was incoming when we arrived to our area and we once again started fishing the weed lines around points..The action was super slow, no takers for the first hour then as the tide changed and started back out we started getting some hits..Unfortunately for us those we did catch weren't that big or that many..Ended up weighing in just three fish..Had a great day on the water and enjoyed the tournament..There were a lot of dads entered with their kids, I think they all outfished us today..
City: San JoseTips: Caught fish on Beavers, Senkos, Speed Traps and spinner baits..Our keepers came on the Speed Trap (delta craw color) and Sweet Beavers (not sure of the color but it was some sort of bug)..The biggest weights for the tourney came (if honestly reported) from white chatter baits, jigs and drop shotting..

Water Temp: 65.8
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out with a buddy who was pre-fishing for a club tourney. We started with topwater around the south end of Franks and Soundmound areas with lots of bites from small fish. Tide was dropping, I switched to a beaver a picked up a 3 from a deep point in the current. Picked up another close to 3 on a swimbait off a small tule island, again in the current. We switched to crankin and got a bunch of littles ones, plus a 5 on rat-l-trap... from a small tule island with lots of current..Hmmmmm. Mid day when the current slowed way down we switched to punching mats, got another 3+ and about a half dozen decent 2LB fish. Bounced around catching lots of jig fish from points and ledges 8-15ft in the current. We set up on a point just as the tide turned around and got an 8 on jig. Finished the day with some fast action on a buzzbait and spook inside Franks on fish up to 2 1/2. Around 30 in the boat today with best five about 22lbs.
City: TRACYTips: JIGS and Cranks in the current. Punching mats when the sun is high and temp is up...CURRENT, CURRENT, CURRENT... Did I mention current

Report: I hunt ducks out there from a kayak, you just got to do your homework to find them. Lower Sherman Island is a good place from what I've heard but I have my own sweet spot.

Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at Russo's today. We started with spooks and gunfish fishing deep water with current, bends in the river and cuts wit moving water, got one 2.5lber right away then missed two decent ones then caught a bunch of 1-2 lbers. Fished around Franks some but I wanted to find some fish somewhere besides Franks so we went to Potato got a few but nothing to talk about. Tide was mid way and going out, poked around the main river and still only got small ones. Went back over by Franks (gave in to the pressure) and started catching fish again we got a few 2.5 lbers and a bunch of 1-2 lbers.
City: MartinezTips: Most of the fish were in the current and 1.2 were caught on top buzz bait and the gunfish, a few on a speed trap and a few on a jig.

Water Temp: 70.0
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launced out of Tracy Oasis for the Nor Cal Tourney. Weather was clear and calm but was was pretty stained due to the recent winds. First spot we hit was at the west end of grant line canal. We picked up one keeper on a chartrues blade. Lost one about 2# on a speed trap that came off at the boat working the current edges on outgoing tide. Headed toward victoria and got another keeper on the speed trap on a totally stopped retrieve. they seem to hit it on the pause. We got our fourth keeper on a red rattle trap in union point area along the rip-rap.
got bit about five or six times on a green punkin 5" senko/wacky on outside of weed edges on low tide buy could not keep em hooked up. One senko fish was rock solid when i set the hook and actually pulled drag and came unbuttoned. Hooked fifth keeper back in grand line canal on a crank and had it bounce out of the net and come off. best five went 9+ lbs. Only weighed in four keepers for 8.22
City: turlockTips: slow down and flip, the fish are there somewhere it think you just need a slower presentation. Browns seem to be the color.

Water Temp: 68-71
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: FIRST TIME FISHIN' THE OLD DELTA. GOT A TOTAL OF 8 LMB. NOTHIN' TO BRAG ABOUT; 3# WAS THE BIGGEST. I TRIED THE NORTH PORTION OF FRANK'S. THE TAKERS WERE INTERESTED IN KLACKERS AND SENKOS. IT WAS WINDY, WINDY, WINDY. A FISH AND GAME GUY SAID IT'S WINDY 350 DAYS OUT OF THE YEAR OUT THERE. IT WAS NOT VERY FUN. I SPENT MORE TIME FIGHTIN' THE BOAT IN THE WIND AND WEEDS OFF OF THE TROLLING MOTOR THAN ACTUALLY FISHIN'. THE FISH AND GAME GUY SAID THERE ARE SOME PLACES IN THE STICKTOWN AREA THAT ONE CAN HIDE OUT OF THE WIND. DON'T KNOW WHERE THOUGH. I'LL STICK TO THE LAKE FISHING.
City: WINTERSTips: DON'T GO ON WINDY DAYS. THE WIND IS A PAIN OUT THERE. GOOD LUCK TO YA.

Water Temp: 68-70
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished out West today mainly because it wasn't windy seems like a rarity anymore. Fished around the break, the meat wall and got one small dink. Then moved to the main river north side and caught about 10 fish biggest was 4 lbs most were right at 2 lbs, caught. The water, low incoming and was pretty muddy. I got a few on a wht/cht chatter bait, some on a red/blk speed trap and two on a frog. Better fish were on the crank. Late in the afternoon I went back to the break and fished the clear water at high tide. Fish were everywhere "you could see them" I caught about 10 more on a frog, buzz bait, chatter bait and speed trap. But most I was just looking at all the fish.
City: MartinezTips: Keep moving until you find the fish and keep with it until they stop biting.

Water Temp: 69
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: We started off the morning in Franks Tract around 6:30am. Began picking up fish off shallow ledges in front of tullies. Our best tactic was covering lots of water quickly using Voo-Doo baits and some crankbaits. My buddy Kevin stuck an 8 on Delta colored Voo-Doo around 11 am, not a huge fish but his biggest this year. Moved up to the south Mokulme around noon. Using the same method as in Frants on the rip-rap walls we immediately started hitting good numbers. Off the water by 3pm best five going 21.3#.
City: OrangevaleTips: This time of the year is usually really good for reaction baits, today most of our success came from a new lure called the Voo-Doo bait. We threw many colors, but white and delta pattern were the most productive. A buddy of mine turned me on to these about a month ago. FYI www.fishinmagiciantackle.com

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out with long time buddy Kane. He taught me how to fish the late summer bites first working the cranks at the weedlines and then following up with the jigs once we found some takers. We ended the day with about 20 hookups most of 1.5 to 2.5# Didn't hook onto any big monsters but definitely fun. First time seeing fish being pulled out of beds of water hyacinths!
Tips: Keep working that lure. More time the lure stays in the more fish!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a Chico Bass Club Tournement Saturday with Kelly Renihan. I Took first place with 14 lbs. Biggest fish was 4.6lb. Kelly took second place. Fish were taken on 6 inch Magalia Plastic Baits Gummy Worm (Light brown with blue blood line) Biggest three fish were taken on red speed traps fishing rocky banks on the out going tide. Some fish were taken on white blades
City: ChicoTips: Beat the banks with speed traps on out going tides, flip black/blue jigs with plastic craws in black with blue flake and light blue craws when tide is up back in pockets. We fished mostly in the sand mound area because of the wind. Caught a lot of clone fish and ten strippers and a one one pound perch

Report: Friday 9/15 cool & very windy. Fished main channel tules near Mokulmne & in Potato Slew. Partner & I caught 20+ keepers (all small)mostly on white spinnerbaits, baby brushhogs (watermelon red)or dropshot Aarons Magic. Saturday warmer & no wind. Fish slightly bigger, but not as many & spinnerbaits not productive. Bite very slow after noon both days.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished last fri, 8th, down south. Tide was high and falling in the am.. temp was warm with no wind. Had decent action on a spook and buzzbait catching about 10 to 3lbs. Switched to a white chatterbait outside the the weedline and caught at least 20 more. Mostly little ones with a few 2's mixed in and lots of missed bites. Tide bottomed out about noon and I switched to punching heavy vegetatation with a tube bait. First flip into the mat and a 3 1/2 comes out. A few flips later and I boat a 7..nice. Off the water at 2 with about 35 boated, best five around 17 1/2lbs.. Went out Fri 15th down south and it was cold and windy. First few hours were slow, but magaged a 3 on a buzzer and a 4 on jig from a deep ledge. Tide botomed out about 9am and the bite was wide open on little fish to 2lbs for the the first hour of incoming.. 10-15 on a buzzbait inside an island and at least 20 on a rat-l-trap outside the weedlines.. Went back to the jig (blk/red & brn/orng)looking for a better bite and got another 4. Proceeded to catch jig fish all day long and ended with a 3 and a 5. Close to 50 fish in the boat today with best five about 18 1/2lbs.
City: TRACYTips: All the better jig fish came from rocks/wood in deeper water in the main current.

Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went to Sycamore and White Slough for 5 hrs before the wind picked up making it real tough to hold positon. Total was 9 for my partner and I with two decent size, biggest went 4.2#. No surface action. Fish were hanging at 5 - 8 feet.
City: Elk GroveTips: dropshot with brown & blue 5-in roboworm at outside edge of hyacinth did best, followed by Wtrmln/red flk 6-in Senko. The fish are definitely deeper with this post-front, nothing on the inside. Move till you find a few takers, then work it.

Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a club tournament today out of Paradise Point. My partner and I spent the day fishing from Columbia Cut to the bottom of Mildred. We caught a lot of fish (20+) but never found a kicker. Our best five went 4 1/2, 3, 2, 2, 1 1/2 for a 13 pound total. It was good for 5th out of 20 boats.
Our first two quality fish (the 4 1/2 and 3) came on a Snagproof frog in the yellow headed blackbird color. They hit right next to some thick scum. The rest of our fish came on Senkos, jigs, Florida-rigged craws, chatterbaits and buzzbaits. We could catch fish on almost every flip by flipping little pockets in scum next to tules but they were all small so we switched to the outside of weed lines where we culled out all the little 1 pounders from earlier. We spent way too much time fishing shallow slop.
It took 18 1/2 pounds to win the event. Second was another 18+ weight and then it fell off fast. The winner had a nice 8.7# kicker. Second place had real nice average fish and got beat by the lucky kicker...sounds like Texas Hold'em poker, huh?
City: Fair OaksTips: 1) Our three best fish came on buzzbait in open water (1 fish), frog right next to the outside edge of scum (2 fish), chatterbait over top outside edge of weedline (1 fish) Florida-rigged craw on the outside weedline. So, if I was to draw any conclusion it was that the better fish are holding on the outside edge of weedlines or scum just inside the shade line.

Report: We headed out first to try get a some topwater action that failed horribly. As the sun came up we switched to senkos and jigs which got us sporadic action but no big ones. We ended up with 25 bass with the best 5 only going 12.5-13 pounds

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Headed out first light. Tried the jig again today but was getting smoked by my buddy with the Rat'l trap. Two hours into our trip I barrowed one and started to get more fish. No size today because no net--hate to get trebles in my hand. Overall about 15 fish. Hey Burke--Rat'l Trap Time a true Fall pattern is here.
City: SacramentoTips: Rat'l Trap outside weedline on low tide or over weeds on high tide. Just your typical Delta knowledge.

Water Temp: mid 70's
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished today with two friends, Larry Hemphill and Rick Tietz. We started behind Venice fishing the incoming tide. Caught lots of small fish on the Chatterbait but couldn't get a top water or jig bite. Followed the tide down to the bottom of Latham where we got a few small keepers. Several fish came on worms but the marginally better fish came on the weed edges with the chatterbait.
Ran down to Bullfrog. Same story...nothing but small fish. Probably had a limit under 10 pounds by then.
At 11:00, we changed tactics, targeting hyacinth. Rick used a jig, Larry a worm and I used a pegged Senko. We all caught fish by pitching our bait 10-12 feet up into the hyacinth and shaking them down into the water beneath. I didn't keep track of how many fish we caught but it sure was fun jerking fish up through that stuff. Unfortunately, the fish only averaged 1 to 2 pounds.
We never did find a bigger fish bite. The tide wasn't very big and went slack for the last two hours of our fishing. Our best 5 only went 10 pounds or so.
City: Fair OaksTips: If you want to have some fun, put on a veavy bullet sinker, peg it tight to the bait and drop it into the thickest hyacinth you can find next to deeper water. Make sure you're using stout line! You might not get a big fish, but its fun to fish this way.
