Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Sugar Barge at 4:30 PM. Windy conditions and high tide...Saw only other truck in the parking lot leaving for the day and he said the bite was tough. Spent all my time in Franks throwing topwater. Initially, the bite was sporadic with most activity in the 1.5-2.5lb range...with one 6+ striper thrown in for fun. Around 6:00 the tide started moving out and the bite was on. The bigger fish were in the 5+ range with most in the 3-4 category. Hooked and released a dozen in this range and missed that many. Had one fish bounce my bait three feet in the air and when it landed another inhaled it...AWESOME to see. FOLKS...the topwater bite is off the hook and lasts the entire day. The last three times on the water, one AM, one mid-day and one evening have all produced good size and numbers.
    City: brentwood

Tips: Topwater is the ticket for me from now until December 1st or so depending on the water. Work bait fast and hold on because the bites are vicious. I prefer the bottom of the low tide, but am finding a decent bite in areas with defined edges that drop into 6-10 feet of water at the higher tides. My personal bait preference is a white no nothing prop bait that simply catches fish. Stay safe. TG.

    Water Temp: 68-69

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had a Client from Japan today. We started off from Russo's with the intent of cranking them in current, WRONG!!!!. We managed one solid 2.5lb on cranks and went in shallower with Buzzbaits, 3 short hit's and left for No.2 spot. Decided to flip after trying crank's. Interesting observation was the fact on how tight to cover these fish were, Litterily nose tight. Manage to get 4 solid hits with the client dumbing one probably over 5. He said something in Japanese that didn't sound good. We were Flipp'in 9X Watermelon/Red Flake.

Headed South on Old River and found it Dead. Headed into Rock and had 2 fish in the boat that were decent. Head back to Frank's to fish the Dock's and proceeded to hear Japanese and a splash, not good HAR!!!!. Finish the Day at 5PM and a new Vetern Flipper/Pitcher.

    Tight Lines

    Rich Thiel
    City: Livermore

Tips: Found the fish related to deep water but shallow nose tight to cover. Flip Light weight and watch for that tick. The buzzbait bite for me was short strike's. Has the moon disapates, the bite will get better. Recommend throwing Buzzbait's in White w/gold blades. Jig's in Black/Red Worm's/Senko's in Watermelon or Junebug. Big bait's if you have them.

    Water Temp: Warm

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: First off thanks for all the calls.
I would like to explain how I fish my buzz-baits
in the Delta.I like to cruise along the rip-rap
banks, looking for any type of dense weed-mats
or debris. My Double Buzz-Bait has silver or
gold blades (no clackers yet)I start out throwing
    a 1/4 ounce.If I see bait flicking I`ll use
white skirt if not I use June-Bug or Black/Red.
1/4 ounce can be worked so slow it just barely
flicks the surface.I`am trying to be bait-fish
running away.I catch big numbers of fish this
way.If I want bigger fish I go to the deepest
    water I can find.When I get there I don`t start
fishing right away.I`ll slowly idle by the bank
or any cover that might be around.I`am looking
for ambush points that bass could use.I always
start on the up-current side.I pull my bait
ever so slowly next to cover.I don`t ever
fish over the cover first.I want those fish
to come out and get my bait.I can`t tell how
many times I have caught two some-times three
fish on one log jam or dense weed-mat.
Later on in the day when you think the fish
have lock-jaw.I fish the same heavy cover
that most fisherman call frog water.I`am
looking for something in the water to allow
the weeds and debris to bunch up.Most frog
fisherman pass this dense mat up.Because
the bass can`t come through the mat.
Now is when I bring out the heavy rod
    were talking,heavy to med-heavy.I want
    #50 to #65 Power-pro.Bait of choice is 3/8 or
1/2oz Double Buzz-Bait Gold or Black Blades.
The gold bait will have double clackers.
The Black Blades will have Red-prism tape
on them but no clackers.I use these
    combos if its over-cast(Black Blades)
Gold Blades sunny out.If tide is moving I fish
with it just like I always do.No tide I just
fish don`t worry you`ll catch them.
When you get hooked-up give them the heave
in the boat.Because if you give him any slack
he will throw this bait. But don`t worry to
much because this bait has a 4/0 owner hook
and it bites back big-time.I`am not losing
    hardly any fish now.
I should tell you I don`t go down the bank
    throwing my Buzz-Bait every 5 feet.I`am looking
for targets to throw at.Even when fishing
mats or brush-piles I don`t want to give
the fish any warning I`am around.I do throw
several times at each target. But I start
out throwing my bait so close to the target
it sometimes hits it and thats when he just
can`t stand to pass it up.Bam-Fish-On!

    Thanks
    And Good Fishing
    Dale
    City: Woodland, Ca.

Tips: Buzz-Baits make waves,Don`t try fishing all
    the water.Just fish all day.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Denny Howard, Jim Ryan, vic and myself went salmon fishing guided by Steelie Dan's guide service north of discover park. (i did not know were to write this, so sence the Sac river is part of the Delta i'm writing it here). Rena was our guide, he knows his salmon fishing, for us bass fisherman it's good to get one of those 25 + fish. We landed a 20 lb first , then a 24 lb, 25 lb and our last was a 6 lb and all were fresh. Using flat fish w/ 2ozs. weight back trolling. We missed three good hits, staying in 1/4 mile area back and forth until 2pm, leaving the docks at 7am. Maybe back to bass fishing this weekend.

    Water Temp: warm

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I`ve been fishing Delta all summer long.
I have had good results, mostly with my Buzz-Baits.
Since I make my own,I can make any combo I like.
They are really working great.Skirt color
does`nt seem to matter, but they sure like those
    Gold blades.Maybe it`s those clackers.I don`t
know.I`ve caught a 71/2 lb my biggest this year.
Caught it midday.Caught most of my fish early.
But I have been fishing all day,so early does`nt
matter.I just keep with the tide and try to find
moving water.I`ve been fishing the Delta about
30 years now and it just gets better. As most
of you know it`s tough to fish the tides. So I
don`t even try any more.I live 60 miles from
there, and it`s high gas prices.Best to stay
all day, unless heat gets to me.Anyway back to
fishing.I have caught some really good fish
on my Double-Buzz Baits. These are the only
baits I throw other than a frog.My son throws
mostly a frog on Delta but he`s coming around.
I make him custom Buzz-Baits like no others.
He`s had great sucess. He now moves a lot faster
covers more water and catches more and better
fish.We have caught numerous 20lb limits.
One he caught was right at 9lbs.Caught it on
a frog.If any one out there needs a custom
    Buzz-Bait.I make the best.If my baits don`t
catch you bigger bass, send it back for a full
    refund.
My Double-Buzz Baits comes in 5-inch
    and 7-inch models.With or with-out clackers.
Any color you desire.(Powder Coat Paint).
    Any size also,1/4 3/8 1/2 5/8&3/4oz.

    Water Temp: 65 to 70

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Russo's in A.M. with my buudy Cliff. Worked around the docks on Taylor. No keepers to be had there. Ran up to Happy Harbor and Spindrift. Found some good fish on blades. Bite died in heat of the day. Started working shaded banks and docks around Frank's in the afternoon. Found a lot of 2 and 3 pounders. Had a pretty great day. Watched the sun go down on Frank's Track. Awesome
    City: Tracy

Tips: Don't know what to say. Things are probably going to change pretty quick with colder weather. Have fun.

Report: I, and Andy G. went out of Russo's this moring to put on some hour's on my new boat (Ranger/Yamaha). We started in Frank's with little moving current, nothing exciting happen so we moved North to current (What a Idea). Andy, caught some keeper's. Me, time to change, Cranked two up in consecutively cast, 2 1/2lbs both. We pulled a small limit and culled.

Off to Secramore Sl for a run on the engine, Nothing happen up there. Ran back to the river and proceeded to catch even bigger fish in current over flats of grass. Unbelieveable, all on Crank's (Timber Tiger's). Tried all the normal plastic's and a few combination's in jig's and nothing to get your drenal'in going. Had to crank.

    Good luck and Crank

    Rich Thiel Guiding Service
    City: Livermore

Tips: Look for current over flats with grass. Crank them from all angle's. Change color's if you think it deem necessary. you maybe surprised on the result. Perch seemed to catch the bigger fish in the morning. Once the sun became higher, color changed to a light brown Crawdad pattern. Try Timber Tiger's their a great crank.

    Water Temp: 70's

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Dels at about 0800am. On the way out noticed a lot of activity deep in the weed beds. Didnt fish anywhere specific and actually hit some middle of no where banks I have never tried. Tried spinnerbaits, buzz baits, and poppers Got one 2.7 on a buzz around 9am and had a good bump on the spinner, but nothing else. Switched to the trusted Senko texas rigged with a small bullet weight and caught 4 more small keepers. Nothing to right home about today but 5 keepers in three hours of fishing will not get a complaint out of me. Weather lately has been great with almost no wind and decent cloud cover in the am. Cant wait until the weather fully turns...I love the fall bite!
    City: Danville

Tips: I dont know enough to leave a tip....haha. The senko always works for me when nothing else does.

    Water Temp: 68-69 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: 2 of us were on the water by 7:00A from Paradise Point Marina. My cousin sticks a 5.5 lb bass on a buzzbait in the first 5 minutes. For the next 2.5 hours, we catch 4 other keepers (1-1.5 lbs each) fishing inside or over weedlines using spinners or buzzbait. The minus tide making fishing over/inside the weeds tough so I decided to fish a shad color Rat L Trap on the outside edge of the weedline. In the next 45 minutes, I caught 8 keepers (2-2.5 lbs each). We culled the smaller bass and released the big one.

Did a little exploring, so didn't get off the water until noon. Ended the day with 10 keepers in the 2-2.5 lb range.
    City: Dixon

Tips: When they aren't biting inside or over the weeds, try outside the weedline.

Report: I had a pretty good day today. Caught numerous small fish on a shad pattern spittn image. I had my best luck on Bobby's perfect frog in the smoke color. My biggest fish went 4 plus pounds. It could have been a 5 pounder if it had been eating good, it was a little on the skinny side. I also fished blades, brush hogs and jigs. All of my fish came on top. I also had some fun with the small stripers bustin on all the shad out there.

Report: Got on the water around 9:00. Water was so calm there wasn't a ripple on it. Fished around sugar barge and caught six of my seven fish on speed trap. Caught my last fish in big break marina. Fishing was really tough with that calm water. Any suggestions would be great.

Report: Windy, windy, windy! Launched out of Paradise Point at the top of the tide and headed for White Sl. Forecast called for minimal overcast and wind at 8-10 mph. Was looking forward to very good conditions and lots of fish. WRONG!
There was heavy overcast (a good thing), but the wind must have been peaking at 20 mph. Geez! I hate the wind!
I threw Senkos, blades, jigs and tubes. Managed 3 rats and a small keeper after 3 hours. Fish came on Senkos and a dropshot rig. Fished primarily in 8-14 foot water, working the baits into shallower water. I'll try again Monday.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: fished for the big bite today, I'm just not ready to put down that darn frog. bites were few and far between for me today. I did manage to give a five pounder a taste of my baby duck snagproof first thing in the morning, but he outsmarted me and ran off to tell all of his other bass buddies about his experience. Super windy day made for quite the challenge. I boated about 10 fish all together, the biggest going for 3 pounds plus. I wish I had today off, cause now the weather is perfect. Damn delta!

Report: Launched out of big break around 9:20. Fished the marina with two fish right off the bat on blades. Headed to franks and started nailing them on blades. Switched to chrome rattletraps and started to rip them. Landed 27 fish for the day losing only six. Only three keeper fish. Couldn't catch a keeper to save my ass. Fishing was awsome. Left the water at 2:00.

Bigger one came on the spinnerbaits we got 3 or 4 3lbers and some 2's and a bunch of 10-14 inchers all of the fish were off the bank in about 10 ft of water. Some were in the bend other were on the points. When the tide stop and turned the fish shut off about 5 fish after 11:00am
