Report: Fished the Round up , didnt do as well as I wanted but had a great time. The whole event was run as smooth and professional as any large tournemant i'v been to! We had some morning fish in practice that would eat Husky Jerks and jigs of shallow flat's close to deep water in the south end of the lake. We shared the areas we had with 20 to 25 other boat's and couldn't get those fish to go during the tournament. Ended up going after are afternoon fish to try to stay in it but it just didn't happen.Had two fish the first day on frog's from the north end , a 4 and a 5 , and couple of blow up's on spook's that broke are heart! And struggled the rest of tournament with only one more 4lber on a frog sun. Congrat's the team's that did get on and do well , they earned it! Dave

Tips: Stay focused and dont let the pressure of other boats throw you off track , I learned alot from this one.

Report: Went out today before school but after a brake job. Got out at like 9.20. Threw out all the hype and even my experience in the last 3 wks and fished shallow. Fished laydowns and standing wood. Stuck a few good fish, but all of em were SILVER. Not a speck of black on em. Not even round the lateral lines. These fish were up in 3 ft of water and the calrity wasnt that bad. I assume they decided it was time to move up and start bitin. Hope it is a sign! All fish on laydowns and stick ups were on reaction baits. Then moved out and flipped "hard tules" in 3 ft and stuck some jig fish..also silver...hmmm, think there is sumtin going on here? I wonder.....Also checked on the deeper fish..they were there too.
    City: Antioch

Tips: Do what you do best and just go out there and pound pound pound. But dont use a steady retrieve...shake um up a little.

Report: Went out of Orwood Sat afternoon % Sunday morn. Getting used to the long boat. Found decent jig bite just outside of Orwood Sat afternoon. Also did OK on worms and brushhogs. Nothing huge, though. Best five would have went maybe 10 - 12 lbs. Sunday, good morning bite. so foggy i couldn't get on plane. Partner got a nice buzz fish on fifth cast. Fished rock and disco. Best five would have gone 12 - 14lbs.
    City: belmont

Tips: blues and purples with a touch of chartreuse, and PB & J worms/hogs. black w/red/purp jigs. slow fall. they semmed to be taking it on the first crawl, not the fall.

Report: Fished the hook team w/ my dad. My first event as a boater. My dad's first tourney period. He had a good time. We had a bad day out there. Hadnt prefished all week. Decided to fish a backwater pool area, crankin' just like evryone else. Only had 5 fish for 9.72 but had a 6+ at the boat, but my dad's inexperience failed to land the fish...he wont hear the end of it for a while since I had the big fihs for the tourney + would have had a top ten. But his first tourney so it is ok. Besides the loss of fish I found em. Gonna get em next time! People fished around us...but not like us...could miss us, Bright orange trihull!
    City: Antioch

Tips: Fish Isolated cover on other cover, its like a double header. Fish reaction baits until fish get onto the fall bite. Jigs will catch fish but you will do better MAKING the fish bite. Dont leave an area till you are SURE there are no fish there.

Lost a 4+ that would of easily put us in 2nd. Alot of small fish, most caught early in the day. never got a hit on anything but Speed Traps.

Report: Went out on the big rig, my 10 foot kickboat, launched from the Howard Ave. Bridge into Middle River. Went twords Union Landing. Well it was a fantastic day, for fishing, but not catching. I threw a buzzbait for a dink and a blade for a dink. Both came off of wood as the tide was going out. A great day on the water though... I would like to say HI to Flip, Bluegill, and the family. Thanks for holding fire! And yes I did see the clammers and yes they were still clamming! But you did not see all of them, there must have been 25 - 30 people down stream!
    City: San Jose

Tips: I am open to suggestions. I have sore arms from blading! Lockjaw has set in on the great muddy, at least for this weekend...

Report: Went out of antioch in the new rig, well my new rig. Tough bite out there. Went to a bank with a ton of weeds on it, real lowtide. I got one blade fish of the inside edge by a stickup. Then moved down the bank with no more sucess. Went to a wooded bank and put tow fish in the boat off one 'ol tree. Then moved down some more and another blade fish off an laydown. NO JIG FISH! But thats ok. Then fished some HEAVY current eddies with a crank and picked up a deepwater fish...so silver i thought it was a sacramento pike. Not bad for a deep water fish though. I think all the bite I got were reation bites. It was a kind of repeated presentation deal. Not a good day, limit not good enough for a check but woulda beat Cooch's..HAR HAR HAR! Just playin Cooch, well see on the 18th right?
    City: Antioch

Tips: Throw a blade on wood...over and over and over and over and...well you get the point. I'll be out there tuesday...maybe see you out there.

    Water Temp: 80+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished between 2pm until dark, many fish 2 to 3 lbs using white or shad flukes (shallow),on thursday had 3 over 4+ using greenie wienie worms (t-rigged),fishing out side weedlines 6 to 10 feet off the shoreline in about 8 to 10 feet of water,on rocky banks ,also there was a little current in these weedline areas from an incoming tide.......
    City: Tracy

Tips: the fuke bites were easily detected as the fish were very aggressive, but the worm bites were very subtle, and you had to pay close attention, as they were simply picking up the bait and swimming out to deep water....

Report: On Thursday went out of B & W Resort. Took 6 bass to 2 1/2 pounds towards the end of the minus tide in the late morning. No definite pattern, 2 on crankbaits and 4 on plastics. Friday, my partner and I launched about 5PM to fish the last part of the incoming tide out of B & W resort. We only took two fish, one about 2 1/4 pounds and a HAWG at 7 pounds 5 oz. on the scale. The smaller fish was on a brush hog and the hawg was on a zipper worm.
    City: Susin

Tips: Fish the back points of isolated tule islands. Use dark color plastics (Junebug, blackn'blue, etc.)

Report: Went out of Vierra's on sat. Started around the marina for a couple keeper buzzbait fish, then worked my way up river stoping at anything that looked good. Cranked and threw blades most of the day, caught a dozen or so , smallie largemouth mix. Boat traffic was a little sketchy but doable. Fished up past WalnutGrove , up into Snodgrass and those areas for more consistant fishing.Went early stayed late to get 12 or 13 fish , Tuff bite for the most part.
    City: San Jose

    Tips: 1/4 oz Jigs

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I have been fishing the Sandmound area 3-4 days a week, AND ITS BEEN BAD!! Well today something broke, 15, keepers, few dinks, best five 15-16 lbs. Not a great limit, but the way things have been lately, one word Wahoo!! Started fishing around 9am ( not going to set my alarm clock with the way the bite has been) low tide, 5 keepers off docks with a smoke & silver Flute. That bite died around 10:30, moved to the mud banks, cranked a SpeedTrap, (Craw color) for 3 keepers, finished the day fishing the outside of weed lines to pick up the last 7 keepers.. got off the water around 1-2pm.....About time the bite started.
    City: Bethal Island

Tips: There is alot of quality fish hanging out on docks that have a cross brace at the end of them, stay off them, long casts. Blades, using a huge RS, white, 1/2oz, two willows # 6-7 I think (2 1/2") Long casts, fish the weed beds and Burn It!!! Good Luck !

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Went out today in the later afternoon evening...and the bite is still TOUGH. I mean, I couldnt belive how hard I had to work to put together just four decent fish. And what was weird is that they were all caught doing pretty different things. Caught the first in shallow water(1ft) on some rip rap next to REAL sparse weeds, he hit a tube deadsticked for like 10 seconds. Then the other four came on various other types of weeds. two more on a tube and one on MY handpoured zipper.
    City: Antioch

Tips: The fish are up TIGHT to the cover with the muddier water. The current is keeping the smaller fish (1-2lbs) handy but the better fish want a slow presentation RIGHT in their face. My tip is to flip small stuff and wrok it REAL SLOOOOWWWWW.

    Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I went to Middle River near the Rock Dam again this morning. Here is a summary, BUZZBAIT, Flippin, Spinner Bait, Texas Rig Worm. I was flipping an black and blue fluke and texas rigging a june bug 6" magic worm. The blades are basically shad color and almost a clear skirt right on the rip rap. Oh, first cast of the morning with a buzzbait, 2 cranks on the handle, BOOM! 2.5 lb'er, thank you very much. The tide was on the way out. Great fun! Check out the Bass n' Tubes homepage at members.xoom.com/jeff_sxx
    City: San Jose CA

Tips: Buzzbait is my latest (isn't it everybodies?) favorite bait. But when buzzin isn't working I am flipping with good success.

Report: Went out with DanD today. Got out at about 6:15 and headed in at about noon. It wasnt to good of a day but got some fish. In the morning caught small fish off tules on riprap on jigs and a tube. Also a crank fish. Then as the sun got higher and the water got lower fished a weedbed...the outside edge produced two nicer fish...the best of the day...on a blade fished quikly. Then flipped some more fish off tules with weed clumps around. Not all that good of a day but would have had a limit but nothing to speak of. Tried froggin and a spook with no takers.
    City: Antioch

Tips: Be careful out there with so many boats on the water.

    Water Temp: 76

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Okay, so miracles happen. I went out to Middle River near the rock dam (on both sides of the dam) and I caught a limit plus a couple. The tide was way low in the afternoon when I got there. I was mid way up when I left in the evening. I caught 3 flipping a black and blue fluke and 3 on a buzz bait. Top water is better than flippin any day. Oh, I had one shake off a red and black brush hog too. I did go after fish using a frog and only messed around with other (live) frogs. I sure do like the Delta in the Summer!
    City: San Jose

Tips: I got lucky... But buzzing during the early evening close to the weedbeds sure did work well!

Report: Friday fished the break area early...got one 2# fish on a black jig with watermelon twin tail grub. Went to Franks Tract and we got 10 more (dinks to 4 1/2#) flipping plastics (black/red flack) and the black jig/grub. Biggest fish came on the jig. Saturday, worked Taylor Slough...partner and I probably caught 30 fish...better fish ran 2-21/2 pounds. Two fish over 3 but no "big" fish. Caught them on jigs, frogs, and a variety of plastics (Zipper's in several colors and Kick'n Bass ribbon tails in Watermelon).
    City: Fair Oaks

Tips: Look for shade and a little deeper (cooler) water nearby.

Report: A buddy and I got a late start at the delta; around 0700hrs. I picked up 19 bass and my buddy hooked 15; believe it or not we only had two dinks a piece. The bite got pretty good for us on low tide. We used some handpoured 6" zippers in an oxblood w/red flake, brown worm w/black flake-chartruece tail, light watermellon 6" lizards w/chartruece tail, and 6" brown lizards w/black flake-chartruece tail. We didn't use anything else because this was working for us. Most of the bites we on the fall. WATCH THAT LINE!!! Since we are pretty new to the delta I dont know exactly what the name of the area we were in. All that I know is that we launched from Ladds marina (#39) and went left toward stockton.~~~sorry guys!
    City: Fresno

Tips: Use 1/8 jig heads in the above colors. Skip cast your bait under any overhanging trees/brush. WATCH THAT LINE!!!.......GOOD FISHING TO ALL!
