Water Temp: 61 - 64 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Ran up to the upper end of 14 Mile Sluogh today near the Paradise Point Bridge in my custom Valco "BASSBUSTER1". First started out with my usual checking to see if there was a reaction bite first. It ended up being a finesse bite for me Mojo Shotting a 7" Berkley hand poured worm straight tail Oxblood/Blu/red flake. Biggest bass today went 5 pounds. She felt real good on my medium action spinning rod with 8 lb. flouracarbon line.
City: StocktonTips: Keep looking for the clearer water. With the higher than normal high tides the shallow weedy sides of banks were holding fish from 5 to 10 feet, just work your presentations slow.

Water Temp: 58-60
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Potato, Little Potato, White and Honker Cut, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Used Shad Speed Trap, Bl/B jig, Green Weenies and white Spinnerbait. No bites on anything but the green weenies (with red and green fleck). Caught 20 fish total for the day, all in shallow water near deeper water. All males up to 3#. Bite was soft and slow. Overcast all day with wind to 8 8MPH. Most fish were bloody. Caught a 1# with a fresh crawdad in it's mouth.
Tips: DON'T bother launching out of Terminous. Use BW or Ladds.

Report: Delta/Stockton
Bass**** Stripers** Sturgeon***
Sturgeon action remains hot in the deep water in the Carquinez Straits near the Green Buoy, Eckley Pier and Dillon Point. The high winds have limited boating activity in the main Sacramento River in the Pittsburg area with gusts to 30 mph over the weekend. James Nguyen of Dockside Bait in Pittsburg said the striper bite was on its way up before the winds started to howl. The waters of the San Joaquin River are still high but clearing rapidly. Scattered schools of stripers are moving quickly through the system. The best striper fishing is found either in the Pittsburg area or in the north Delta above Rio Vista. Alan Fong of the Fisherman's Warehouse in Sacramento reported outstanding largemouth bass fishing in the Delta with "perfect water conditions." Randy Pringle, the Fishing Instructor, has been using reaction baits such as the Pure Poison or Timber Tiger DC8 in black/orange, as the fish have moved off the banks with the cool morning temperatures. He expected the large females to move up on the coming full moon. The 10-inch Berkley Power Worm is effective on the outside edges with a slow presentation, and there is a top water bite starting in the back coves with the IMA Big Stik in the flats for the occasional largemouth in the 4- to 7-pound range. Fresh shad is still very limited for bait soakers.

Water Temp: 57-58
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Brannan Island SP and worked all the areas between that and Mokulemne by B&W; real spotty and hardly any action. Lipless and speed traps produced a few barely keepers to about 1.5lbs but nothing bigger. Senkos and jig/trailer combos picked up 3 more. Hard fishing all day and I don't know about the "perfect conditions" reported below.
City: sacTips: Our report is nothing like the previous...not sure if it's a plug to get people's blood pumping but check out all the previous reports and the one before this seems like an ad for local stores and guides.

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This report is about a week late.
I launched my custom built 15' Gregor "Bass Assassin" at that free ramp off Diablo near downtown Stockton. I loaded up my gear and my "old lady" in the "Bass Assassin" and headed out. The "old lady" has been on a diet so the "Bass Assassin" was able to maintain it's 25 mph top end speed. I made a long run and there was quite a bit of boat traffic and the "Bass Assassin" took a small wave over the back of the transom when I slowed down to get over a yacht roller. I got the ol' "Bass Assassin" mopped out and proceeded to my first spot. The tide was low and the place was screwed up. Caught one small bass off a senko and missed another off a jig. Got out of there a couple hours later and headed back to the port downtown because the "old lady" wanted to go to the Asparagus Festival. I battled the wind and waves from those big offshore boats and finally made it back in my trusty "Bass Assassin".
I dropped her off and dropshotted a few more bass downtown. Nothing big but it was some action.
City: ModestoTips: I think it has been tough out there but some guys are getting them. Hit it as often as possible because its gonna turn on soon.

Water Temp: 56-61
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This report is a bit tardy but conditions haven't changed too much, so hopefully it still helps. Fished the Delta all day with a bubby on the 10th and 15th. All fish hit on 4" and 5" Senkos in shad and craw colors. No takers on cranks or spinners.
10th: Launched out of Tower Park and found clear water in Little potato and White's slough, as well as Honker Cut. Caught a 2lb-12oz in Little Potato, a 7lb-1oz and 2lb-4oz in White's, and two 2 pounders in Honker Cut. Fish were in weeds in 2 - 6 feet of clear water a few feet outside of the tullies.
15th: Launched out of Sugar Barge and went south to Sand Mound slough for 2 fish, and then north to Piper slough for three more - all around 1.5 to 2.5 lbs - and all in 2 to 10 feet of water tight to cover. We found a number of males guarding beds around Frank’s Tract that weren’t interested in any lures.
City: SacramentoTips: I’m doing better spending lots of time in areas where I find clear water, rather than spending that time searching out more clear areas.

Water Temp: 57-60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Luanched the custom Valco "BASSBUSTER1" out of Ladd's at 9 a.m. and was off the water by 12 noon to get some sleep for work tonight.
With just a 3 hour window I headed for 14 Mile Slough. 6 bass today (all guarding males up to 2 lbs.) using crawdad speed traps and white spinnerbaits along the riprap. Inside LVW Marina I used a carolina rig with Zoom trick worms.
City: StocktonTips: Look for the warmer water, main channel was 57. LVW was 60 by 11a.m. I feel like I missed a good afternoon bite today as the water temp was warming up.

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: The water temps are in the 60's and we are coming off of the big cold front. I went into the day thinking it was going to be a grind, it wasn't. We caught over 25 fish today up to 6 lbs. Bed fish, reaction fish, finesse fish you name it we did it. I even pulled out a top water frog and got 2 nice keepers, go figure.

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: It was pretty tough on me today. I haven't fished the delta in probably a year but I heard it was "wide open" so I thought I would give it a shot. Didn't get on the water until 10:30. I launched out of Paradise Point and fiddled around in that area for a couple hours for nothing. I got out of that area and ended up in a wide open area off the main Stockton deep water channel. I spent 3-4 hours in that area and ended up catching 5 bass off a 6" weedless swimbait. They were all fat keepers up to 5 1/2 lbs. They smacked it hard but it took a solid 100 casts to catch one fish. I didn't see any bed fish where I fished but i'm sure their out there.
Before I got there I was thinking a 20+ bass day would be easy but as usual I picked the wrong day to hit it.

Water Temp: 57 - 60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: launched out of ladds this A.M. got kind of a late start but ran to victoria where my bro stuck a keeper in the 1st 5 min. thought for sure we were on to something. only hit one more in the next 45 min. fished around victoria and woodward most of the day but pretty much got skunked. bro lost 2.
moved over to union point and nuthin. ran to bullfrog on the way home and stopped at the train tracks where i hit a 2.8 for the final fish of the day. fish are not active, but the ones we landed had fat bellies.
City: modestoTips: none to offer.

Report: Fished in South, Flipped S-20's and crancked red.

City: TracyTips: red speedtrap was in their mouth sideways. flipped with a light weight and was getting better fish on the fall.

Water Temp: 57-63
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Rolfy and I fished South Delta and the water is still muddy, not as bad as last week but still muddy.
We got lucky on wacky senkos and flippin. As reported in Earlier Reports we found them set up on tule points near deeper water. As I've said earlier...if we can catch'em anyone can
City: WoodpileTips: Like he said....Never give UP !

Water Temp: 56-60
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Ladd's, got on the water about 7:30. Fishes Disappointment Slough most of the day and Turner Cut, caught 5 (all in the 2-3 pound range) and mised a few, nothing to brag about, wind was whippin' and spent too much time fighting with that. was blanked in the early morning throwing white spinnerbaits, pitched weightless Senkos(watermelon/red flake) into tules for all 5 fish. VERY soft bite. fish will just pick it up & cruise with it, doesn't seem like they are chasing anything right now. I keep waiting for the bite to turn on...but it still ain't there yet, should be any day now.
City: ModestoTips: fish slow & tight to cover. charge your batteries good, as you'll be on the TM all day fighting the wind.

Water Temp: 59.2 - 63.6
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I fished the FAB-4 Invitational Derby on Saturday launching out of Sugar Barge marina. My partner, Hook 'em Hard Frank, and I headed South into Sandmound slough and Taylor slough to get out of the wind. This proved to be a good wind break for us and produced the clearest and warmest water. We found fish scattered along the outside of the weed bed, suspended at 5-12 feet deep in 15 feet of water. Fish were sluggish and bite was very very soft. In most cases, didn't know they were even on the hook. Weight of our best 5 was well under 15 lbs. First place went to Team Fremont, Karl T. Keeper. and Tommy Tight Loop, with their winning fish coming on the final cast of the day.
City: San JoseTips: Fish very slow, letting bait sit motionless on the bottom for first 2-5 seconds. Senkos, split-shot worms and Carolina-rigged plastics produced the best results. Best bait was motor-oil worm with chartruse tail. Use straight tail, not curly.

Water Temp: 58-63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: got out to the water about 7ish. fished on the east delta. at spud early morning, nada! had one hit off a brn/red jig with bloody red beaver, lost it hook didnt set. might be a small one who knows!! went to around empire, skunked!! decided to go try out this slough we fished last weekend because the water was really clear, and got good actions!!!fished there was already spawning and really active! saw an 8+ momma, couldnt get her to commit to bite..she was hiding and wouldnt come out from weeds. was alot of weeds...caught about 23# the whole day...average fish was mostly 4#....was out there for 12 hrs..
City: stockton,caTips: caught most of the fish on points and tulles...mostly points is the key!! all fishes caught on topwater, traps, blades, and the number one senko!!!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Looking for a trolling motor repair shop in the area. Please post if you know of one. Thanks
City: Bay Area -
Water Temp: 54-60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: A windy start to the day and I was fired up hopin for a good reaction bite (finally)Stuck a 6 on a 5/8 oz blade runner spinner bait and the heart was pumpin! Caught two 3's in the next 5 casts and that bite bite died,Bucked the wind on the windy south side of the tract for the next 3 hours and deciced to put the blades down.I started flippin the black and red beaver and sure enough the flip bite was back, after the last two days of the fish being suspended on the surface they finally moved back to the bottom.Managed to salvage 20lbs +or- for the day.
Tips: Although short lived the reaction bite died for me early but these fish are still sluggish and tight to cover but reacting to the heavier weight on the flip if they dont hit it on the fall let it sit for 5 seconds and pop it 6 inches if that dont work make another flip.

Water Temp: 58-70
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Yea. 70 degrees. Fish south end today. Out of Lazy M @ 7:00. Hit Widow Island. Water was 58 deg. Partner caught a 3.4 right off with a green weenie. Next 1.5 hrs was slow. Tried Shad Rap, Green Weenie, Watermelon weenie, white Spinnerbait, bl/b jig. Nothing to write home about. Left for Mildred Island south end. Started catching dinks (2 lb or less) on the green weenies. Dead stick for 0 seconds with SOFT bite. Went back to Italian slough where it was 70 degrees in the back. water was chocolate. Finished the day with 4 more dinks in the last 15 minutes. Off the water by 2:30.
Tips: I did 2 days in a row in this sun and I'm fried. I don't know how the pro's do it in that Florida heat. If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm almost always gonna report fish caught on green weenies.
