    Water Temp: 69-71

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Water clarity varied significantly but I did find clearer water. Launched out of Oaks, hit rattlesnake as the morning wind was up. A few tourney guys there so I backed off so they could try. Went north and found a couple docks kind of out of the wind and tossed a dropshot in. Second cast 3.26 first fish. Threw the next cast deeper and got another. Couple casts later another. Next dock got one more. Headed north, still windy, tried Shag rock no takers, threw the swimbait for another hour or so blowing from Shag to the break before the point going to Redbud arm. Went back to trying docks and got a couple more. Wen't to the point past Konocti and tried swimbait and senko in the flats there, no takers. Another on pilings in the wind across the street and back to Glenhaven and got the last one off a ramp. Spent an hour at Rattlesnake with Senko and Swimbait no takers. Fished 8:30 - 1:00 landed 9 fish total all on Dropshot mostly all small fish but all appeared to be very healthy. Senko and Swimbait did not produce and I threw them at least 1/2 the time when the wind was low enough. I spent alot of time trying to avoid the high winds. Ironically, at 3:00 the wind was gone and the lake was very fishable.
    City: Pacifica

Tips: Probably could have got many more fish if I stayed with dropshot on docks but most all those fish were small I tried deeper and shallower to no avail. Wanted to go North but whitecaps were too big in the am. Good luck - wish more people would post.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I have been fishing from my kickboat around the buckingham/konocti area, water looks good and bass are chasing bait fish in the shallows. Tubes, cranks, spooks, senkos, blades... Ya know, the usual. Lots of bass active deep in the tules too.
    City: Kelseyville

Tips: If you locate bait fish the bass will be around. Follow the birds!

    Water Temp: 77

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Sun - Weds (9/18-9/20) It was pretty crazy. Fished south on riprap & rockpiles. You had to keep moving but once you found fish & were throwing what they wanted, fishing was really good. Our most successful pattern were plastics in red-brown + my partner did well with wacky rigged 6" watermelon Senkos. No reaction bites until Tuesday night but caught 6 fish in 30 minutes on a red double willow blade spinnerbait on the way in Tues. evening. I even caught a 16 lb catfish on the spinnerbait & that was a 1st for me. We caught alot of 2.5 - 4.0 blacks. Big fish were 9.7, 8.1, 7.5 with four fish in the 5-6 lb range over the three days.
    City: Visalia

Tips: Keep moving & when you graph fish, keep throwing different baits until they bite. Seems to me if you find out what they're willing to bite that day, you will do well, but the pattern changed everyday. I'm by no means a pro but this is what we ran into.

    Water Temp: warm

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I've heard all the same reports for this lake all summer long and for the past three seasons. For all of those wondering why the past several years have been tough... The fish have plenty to eat, therefore, I don't believe it has much to do with fishing preasure. Clear Lake will always be a tough place to fish, especially when bait fish are plentiful (which is every year). Remember, your artificial lure is competing with the "cesspool" of life... that Clear Lake has to offer.
    City: Clear Lake

Tips: You can always slow fish with a senko, but you may develop attention deficit disorder (ADD). Otherwise, use bad language...

    Water Temp: 80*

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Tues and Wed in Rattlesnake/south end. Tons of dinks, with a some good fish thrown in. The little guys seemed to be closer in to the tules, though there were exceptions. Got them on everything, small 4" senkos, jigs, curly tail worms. They really liked the jig, got most big fish dragging jig slowly on outside weedlines in about 15'. Whalen cove and thereabouts was most productive. Two 30 + days, lots of 1lb fishsticks. Keeps it interesting though! Big fish about 4 1/2, with 9-10 fish 3lbs + - over the two days.
    City: Clearlake Park

Tips: AM and PM best, they really turned on at dusk. No crank/blade/swimbait bite to speak of. Senkos in rainbow trout and a blue color I found in the bottom of my bag (?). They seemed to want some brighter colors on senkos, but were hitting the old green pumpkin jig/rage tail trailer.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: We fished the County Park area from our float tubes between 9AM and 6PM. We fished up against the tules with drop shotted Roboworms, as well as some house docks. We pulled in tons of bass, but most were non-keeper sized fish. The most notable fish were 5-15, 4-9, 4, and 3 lbs. A few other good sized fish were lost too. The rest were basically little dinks at 10 inches and below.
    City: Livermore

Tips: Drop shot Roboworms - in Folkestad Special, Margarita Mutilator, and Morning Dawn colors - right up against the tules. The deeper and thicker the tules, the better. Fish it slow and keep an eye on the line for movement. Focus particularly on the east-facing side of tule points leading into creeks and small openings - this is where all of the bigger fish we caught were residing.

Report: During the first half of the day, we fished the State Park area from our float tubes and targeted mostly the offshore weed beds. We tried using spinnerbaits, topwater, crankbaits, jigs, and drop shot worms, but were unable to get even a nibble. We're guessing the lack of bite had something to do with the annoying air boats spraying the weeds. With the air boats causing a racket out on the main lake, we moved into the creeks, but had no luck there.

During the second half of the day, we moved to the County Park area and fished up against the tules with drop shotted Roboworms. We finally found tons of bass, but most of the bass were non-keepers.

Report: Re: R-TRUTH I too have heard the report of the “fish kill” as a result of the FTP tournament this past weekend. This was very unfortunate and yes this could have been avoided. By no means was this the intent of any of the anglers involved such as myself or “Vince”. FTP has a lot of well respected members and Vince has done a great job, though at times can do better. Education is the key here to help our fisheries. DFG should limit the number of tournaments at Clear Lake period! I’m sure you fished in 6 maybe 7 events this last year at Clear Lake. Really, do you think that is wise to do for a lake that just gets hammered such as this one? Face it you can find a tournament at this lake more times a week then poker games in the casinos.
    City: Redwood City

Tips: The bigger fish have moved to the Oaks. FTP don't let this happen again.

    Water Temp: N/A

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: To add to some people being alarmed over dead basses during FTP tournament, I had seen so MANY dead basses at three of their tournaments in the past that the lake looked so white with their bellies being up on surface. And one of that events was in early June, with cool weather! It BROKE my heart and I have had reported to DFG, and apparently they did nothing.
I fish average of 10 tournaments a year for over a decade now, I had only ONE dead bass in my livewell out of those over ten year as I am really careful with my livewell. I NEVER liked the idea of ice as they melt too fast and different water than the lake, causing more stress on fish. Use solidly frozen water bottles, bring about 8 frozen bottles, they will keep your ice chest cold, and handy in live well. Also, I add some hydrodixe proxdien (?), about one oz. to every 3 gallon, to sataure the rich oxygent in live well...Also, everybody in tournament should know how to do the 'fizzing'.
    City: PARADISE

Tips: Come on, STOP fishing if needed to take care of your babies in your well. And tournament rules should be, NO COUNT ON DEAD FISH!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

    Report: Fishin Is great

Tips: A lot of complaints Dead fish in the livewell.
General knowledge during the summer Clearlake is very warm. You should carry extra Ice in the boat for your livewells. Tournament fishing or not, It is you responibility. Not a tournament director or anyone else.
Use the cold water in the bottom of your Ice Chest. doesn't take much. You need a cold drink also. Keep plenty of cold water and Ice in the boat during summer. For yourself and your catch.

Report: I have been fishing the south end of the lake. Its getting stinky up in here, some spots looks like pea soup. Good news is I have been killing it on topwater. The Buckingham/Konocti area isnt too bad, but try to catch it in the morning. 1/2 oz Snag Proof has been doing the trick.
    City: Kelseyville

Tips: I have had a some problems with drunk boaters. I fish from a float tube and have almost been hit more than I would like, so be careful friends.

    Water Temp: 80

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Well I can't recall the last time I've seen the algae bloom this bad...must have been in the 90s maybe. The dominant algae is also the real stinky stuff...my kids said it smelled like fish food flakes or a porta-potty. The stuff was so thick in areas it would clog my guides and even worse a 1/2oz jig would suspend in it. Find some cleaner water with weedbeds and you'll find the fish.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Red Bud yesterday afternoon with a friend - fishing until about midnight. He is fishing the Sat night tourney - so this will be brief. We started catching nice 3 to 3 1/2 lb bass. Everything was fine until I hooked a huge bass on a D&M Piranha swim jig - and lost it after 15-20 seconds. Wow!! My bud covered lots of water and did quite well. After some excellent spring trips, this was my night to stink up the place (in addition to the algae!) and I did - only caught a 4 1/4 and a 3 1/2. He did well and it was his turn to nail a nice one - 7 lbs 3 oz. Our limit was pushing 23 lbs.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: We'll let the weekend tournament folks figure out the "tips" for this weekend!

    Water Temp: 82

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Lake with my partner first time this year. Got out at 5am for a crack at topwater bite. Not great but caught 3 on super spook and 1 on a rico in a 45 minute window, no other blow-ups. Fished east side of narrows. Tried Lakeport but fan boats spraying tons of purple weed killer into lake, no fish to be found. Picked up 3 more on north end, 1 on jig, 1 on beaver, 1 one senko. Added 1 more on a frog at 2pm. Temp got to a blistering 101 with no shade. Added 2 more 5lb cats to total up against some pilings on senkos. Algae starting to go into full bloom will take over many spots on lake soon. Total 8 bass, 3lb ave. 2 cats, and only one missed fish. Not great but quality good, no consistent pattern!
    City: San Francisco

Tips: Cover water fast in early morning. If you find some post spawn fish stay on them until they shut off. Look for shade and dark spots in tules in the afternoon, it's HOT and bright on the lake. LOTS of guys beating up the same tule lines look for more secluded stuff most guys overlook. Fish are still hitting very subtle even on the topwater. Good Luck and Good Fishin.

    Water Temp: 71-76

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Mike Sperbeck and I made a return trip to Clear Lake last night to see if we could keep the night bite going. We did. He started the trip at dusk with a downer - losing a big fish! I started with the hot hand and then he took over. We fished for about 5 hours, 'til 1:30 am and we each boated 6. Our best 5 was almost like the last trip - about 25 lbs. His best was 5 lbs even and I landed a 5 lb 9 oz and a 6 lb 7 oz beauty. Only 3 of our bass were under 3 lbs. The best bite was during what is supposed to be the slow time - the hour after dark. Go figure!! The bite really slowed after 11:30. I caught the biggest on a D&M Piranha swim jig w/ 6" Yamamoto grub trailer. The other were caught on Senkos, Power worms, and brush hogs. Fish all seemed to be from 10 to 25 feet.
    City: Yuba City

Tips: We tried some topwater and buzzbaits at dark when we started, but no takers. I think Mike is fishing an upcoming night tourney, so I will end the report here.

Report: I pretty much stunk it up ...caught a couple using Wacky senkos and ChatterBait. marked alot of fish in the 12 to 15 ft range I couldn't get them interested, also had a few blow ups on frogs but they were half hearted attemps.
Area fished Rattlesnake to Long tule point.
