Water Temp: 48.5
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Rain & then more rain w/ little wind w/ morning temp from 38-42. Bite was non-existent all morning as rain pelted the south end. When rain stopped, bites were in the south/west end of lake on finessing pumpkin tubes & blk/red senkos. We caught 14 fish when rain stopped from 11 am to Noon.
City: MartinezTips: Fish the walls and docks. We had no luck w/the robo worm oxblood (flavor of the week). We changed it up by texas rigging tubes (yamamoto pumkin) and Senkos (blk/red). Tube landed a 5.2 lb LMB and the senko landed a 6.1 lb LMB.

Report: Fished out of Red Bud. Almost no wind all day. The bass bite was a bit slow, all on worms. Went to Shagg Rock and Henderson Point, but nothing there. Couldn't find a reaction bite all day. Caught 16 fish up to a little over 3 pounds for the largest.
City: SacramentoTips: Fish are still sluggish, but some warmer weather around the corner to get them moving (I hope).

Water Temp: 50's
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Clear Lake Sunday, the reports from this site were dead on know one wants to give up info. Started fishing after that tournament blasted off. Fished for hours on the north had a few small fish no bragging rights. About noon I saw this guy on a pontoon boat sticking fish after fish, I trolled up to him and asked what's the deal. He threw me a few bags of Robo Worms (Oxblood) told me to fish along side him. We targeted 8 to 10 feet of water on the edges and I started sticking some better fish. The first one I nailed was a three not bad and within 20 minutes between us we stuck 13 fish up to 4 lbs. He also showed me this dart head called a spot remover, he had a 6" trick worm on it Watermelon Cotton Candy, it worked as good as the drop shot.
City: ConcordTips: Robo worms in 6" and Trick worms. Stay in the 8 foot range. Hey Thanks for the tips and the worms the guy in the boat was the owner of Tackle It "Ed". I got about 40 fish Sunday.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Castmaster,
You have picked a bad time to ask about Clearlake. Everyone who knows anything has one or more tournaments there in the next 3-4 weeks so no one, including myself, want to get too "chatty" about what they know. We have been putting our time in on the water pre-fishing for the last month and don't want to give up too much. I can tell you the north end is muddy so the fishing there is tougher than the south end. If you want to come up and catch fish, you can launch at Rebud Park in the town of Clearlake and catch fish around most docks with a darker color 4-6" worm on either a drop-shot rig or split-shot, both will catch a lot of 1-2 lb fish right now. Be prepared though, there is a WON BASS this Saturday and an Anglers Choice on Sunday. Then next weekend is the Northlake Ford tourney on Saturday AND Sunday. It is pretty busy out there right now so be careful.
City: UkiahTips: Small worms around docks will let you some fun.

Water Temp: 48-53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I was thinking about going fishing and I read a guys report names Kamron, so I emailed him and said thanks for the report, that he made up my mind by the his report to go to Clear Lake. He emailed me back and said no problem if I need a buddy to go along to let him know because his truck was down and could not drop his boat in the water so I picked him up at a dock near his house and he put us on the fish. He said ripping is the way to go so we started at south end and ripped 30-40 fish each to 4lbs before lunch time, I nicked named Karmon RML (rip master lips) this guy could cast like no one I have ever fished with before and thats 35 year of fishing on my end. I kept up with him until about 2PM and than my lack of slip and 40 year old arms got tired (He is 29). We ended the day with David 45-50 fish and Kamron 65-70 fish, 110-120 fish total. Had 2 4lbrs, 3-4 3 lbers and a ton of 1 1/2 to 2lb cookie cutters. The next day was a dif story, the front came in Sunday but the barometric presure must have change over night becuase we had to beg still and borrow for a fish. I caught 2 on dart head and 2 on split shot and Kamron got 3 or 4 fish on worms and he did rip one or 2. Had a great time with Kamron and I am sure we will hook up again.
City: San JoseTips: Before the front the fish were in shallow 1-10 feet with deep water near by, 95% of our fish were between the docks not under them. rip rip rip with very short pauses but they hit it on the pause. Stacy 90 in any color but the crazier the color the more fish. The few worm fish with caught on robo's in purple and brown and magic worm green weenie.

Report: Fished today with Jerry and Mike Cossey of Petaluma and had an absolutely amazing day on ClearLake. Our first stop produce 5 football fish in 20 minutes, 3 of them 4 pounders on Lizards. We then ran to the stained water of the north to toss jigs and found a million boats! LOL! We did manage 3 long skinney two pounders. After an hour fishing, a chat with Seig and some guy on a dock speaking cajun yiddish er something, (kept talking of this 100 pound bass he caught in the state park! LOL), I decided this wasn't gonna work like it had been and we needed to go back south, so off we went. Along the way we stopped and tossed some blades and jerkbaits with only a couple of strikes but no fish. We then pulled into a cove on the RedBud arm where the wind was blowin into the bay out of the south and commenced to just stroke fish from 11:30-4:00pm. In all, we caught 103 keepers and two dinks over the entire day. 11 of these fish were over 4 lbs 5 ozs, with the biggest going 8 lb 10oz. Best five were 8.10, 6.9, 4.13, 4.10 & 4.10 for a total of 29 pounds 4 oz. All but 6 of our fish were caught on lizards in 6-12 foot of water on big flats between docks with deep water behind us. We just put the trolling motor on low and kept our baits wet and moving. We did catch 6 jig fish, but amazingly, none of them were more than 2 pounds.
City: OakleyTips: The big flat pattern has been working for me at Clearlake for over 3 monthes now. Typically I'll work that lizard from 3-20 feet until we locate which ledge or level the fish are at. On this day, we got very lucky to find one bay that was just loaded with a ton of fish up shallow and the temperature, when we got there, was 52 degrees and was 54 by the time we left. We talked to a lot of anglers who struggled today and many of the boats were grouped up. Heard at Limit Out that it took 31 lbs to win the 100% Team event. Look for those areas void of boats, where the big flats are being overlooked! This will be a tough task this week with the Stren series taking place. But I believe this will be a good pattern that will be overlooked in the tournament by most anglers and if yer not in that event, you should have a great time like we did today.

Report: First thing it is an afternoon bite. Concentrated on ripping and swim bait fish. Caught 8 good fish ripping 128's. My two big fish came on swim baits both plus 5. I through Mission Fish, man they spanked it. I found a bunch of Mission in the Tackle Store in Lake Port "Tackle It", by the way they moved down the street right there by the Skylark. They have a bunch. I also drop shotted and used a dart head that seemed to cath numbers, Maverick Worms and Robo.
City: Redwood CityTips: Ripping key to me was 8 feet of water. Mission Fish, throw up into a foot of water and work it really slow back. The key, really slow. Hit Tackle It, the Guy in there holds the lake record for 5 fish and knows swim baits.

Report: Fished off a dock in jago for a couple hours today. It started off kinda slow, water was flat lots of dead tulies and sticks on the surface, still managed to rip a few nice fish including a four pounder(stayse 90 ghost minnow). Then the wind picked up and they went bananas!I ripped about ten in about twenty casts, one went five and a half pounds,my hand got tired so i picked up the spinning outfit and dropshotted,( six in robo in mm).The first fish I cought was every bit of five pounds,(pita to land on a dock eight feet above the surface)so i threw back in in the same spot, instantly got bit. This continued for about fifteen minutes, keeper after keeper, footballs! After all was said and done Landed thirty five bucketmouth!Having that much fun off of a dock shoult be illeagle!

Water Temp: 45.6-49-4
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished today with Daniel Balaba & Steve Irie. I was a little concerned with the 45 degree water temps and the shad die off in the south end with all them gulls by Rattle Snake, so we headed to the muddy waters of the north end hoping to find a little warmer water. After a bone chilling face freezin short run from the Lucern Park to Nice, we began pitchin black and brown jigs to docks in 8-10 foot of water. Amazingly we started catching fish right away. After several missed strikes and 3 fish, I convinced these two ta switch to pork and they too began to catch em. The fish right now are absolute football chunks with fat, full bellies and still gorging themselves. 14" fish weighin 3 pounds! My Boca Digital scale got a work out today. I was in awe today of the weight these fish were carrying. Caught 18 keepers fishing docks all the way to Lucern. Later in the day we headed up to the Narrows and fished around Kona Tai, Paradise and Buckingham. Couldn't buy a jig fish in the clear water and switch to a Carolina rigged Lizard and put 6 fatties, two over 4 pounds, in the boat before calling it a day.
City: OakleyTips: Fishing slowed down today considering how it busted wide open the past three days, the swimbait guys were in heaven this week, not today. We found a better bite in the dirty water of the north lake on jigs. Al the fish were 2-6 feet on the outer edges or along isolated pylons. in 8-10 foot of water. Brown jigs produced best with a very erratic hop and pop (Cooch's Claw Wave) motion triggering strikes. Bites were soft and fast, use a football head or remove most of yer weed gaurd to assure fast hook penetration. Crank that C-rig moderately fast along the bottom on the flat chunky flats in clear water. Bites might be far and few, gotta stick with it and cover some water. When ya git bit, you'll know it and hang on! As fer the minner bite, well, I only used two of the 18 in the boat today, we caught better fish on the jig and lizard. Just never had to revert to the minners ta catch em.

Report: Lauched out of lucerne 0730 ran over to long tule pt. fished the points and all around clear up to the casino nothing, not a bite. Next over to rocky pt, still the same, nothing. Tought I would try and save the day by going a getting some cappie for dinner. Stopped at county park to give it one more try, this time in the other direction, toward kelsy creek 1100hrs. Left the water at 1800hrs never used the big motor till then. Bass there wouldn't let my white spinnerbait (small col/wil)alone. When it was all said and done 30+ fish, 20-solid 3lbers with a 5.8 just for fun. Never got that many of that quality before. The where every, run the bait by and around the dead tulies. 1-6ft deep,if there were tules,(both above and below the water) the bass were around. It was just NUTS.
Tips: never give up! BIO-FREZZE for sore arms, and shoulder.

Report: I was glad to return to Clear Lake after a 7 week break. The bass didn't welcome me very nicely however. I have often found warm afternoons in Feb to be slow and today was no exception. I'm sure the good bite was in the morning - if there was one. I wanted to night fish a little and I was almost a hero. I lost a big bass about 9 pm near the Buckingham area and did land one about 3 1/4 lbs. I only caught 3 or 4 before dark and they were just 2 to 2 1/2 pounders. I know I have some homework to do but I still thought the bite was a bit tough!
City: Yuba CityTips: ALL my FEW bass were caught on Weapon jigs in about 10 to 20 feet - all around rock. Probably the most amazingly perfect night I have ever spent on Clear Lake in Feb. Didn't even need my snowsuit!!

Water Temp: 46-49
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched in Redbud. South water much better water clarity than the north. Fished with my buddy Tiger, we got 9 bass, best 5 went 11.8 lbs. Tigers 4.1 on a Jig was the biggest. Not great, but considering all the maddy lakes we were happy to find decent water. Fish were either on a Jig or a drop shot and one on a Senko. To our surprise all fish came in 5 to 12 feet. No jerk bait fish or T-Rig takers. Wind came up late morning and no fish after 12:40, first one at 7:34.
Went by Konocti to check out the Marina activity and what a scene. 50+ people with everything from surf rids with 4 hooks to $10 kids poles. Watched them for a while and saw literally every fish go into a bucket, 3" to 2 lbs, pogey or Croppie it didn't matter. Great for the kids but not sure I agree with the message the adults were sending. Maybe Konocti should police it a little heavier. Got a kick out of a couple guys and their son, he pulled in a 2 lb bass and one of the people saw him release it and said something to him he replied, somewhat jokingly I think, "some one has to release a fish around here" Most of the folks probably didn't understand it but Tiger and I got a real kick out of it. The dock was a zoo.
City: PacificaTips: Water seems to be clearing and bite was OK in the morning. Our fish were short and fat eating the abundant shad very well. For what it is worth I agree that when Cooch and Larry and others give updates it is great for us all - Thanks to you and the others who post here I know it helps us! Weather was great mostly sunny all day.

Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went up with a buddy and his boy for a 2 day trip in hopes of a combo bass-crappie trip. We weren't disappointed, though it was a bit tougher than last year. We had hoped to head to Shag Rock like we did last year and catch 150+ crappie and 50+ bass, but the water was very dirty and there was nothing going on. We then tried Kono Toyabee (spelling?) and there were 4 or 5 boats there with only 2 of the boats catching fish. Luckily we ran in to a couple of guys that told us the crappie bite was doing well at Kinocti. When we got there we were surprised to see over 200 people loaded on the docks. It was so bad that some parts of the dock were actually under water. We pulled up and just decided to watch for a while to see exactly what people were doing. Noticed that half of the people were catching gills and half crappie. We decided to stay and try for bass in the area figuring that a lot of times a good population of bass will be where the crappie are. We started d-shottin' and got some nice keepers up to 2 1/2 pounds. We then decided to anchor up and start crappie fishing. The last 2 hours of the day were hot. With about 20 minutes to go in the day I caught a 3'5 crappie. By far my biggest crappie I have ever caught. The next day we went to our same spot and spent the whole day anchored up and catching crappie up to 3'0 pounds and bass up to 3 pds. We also bought some meal worms for my buddies boy and he was catching gills as fast as he could get the bait down to them. Wound up the trip with 90-100 crappie, 30-40 bass and another 20-30 gills. My buddies boy also caught his first crappie. Great 2 days of fishing.
City: RosevilleTips: I would like to mention a couple of thing. First, I would like to thank Cooch for all the great reports on Clear Lake and the delta. I am a pretty successful tournament fisherman, but I know a couple of trips with Cooch would help me greatly. Second, I don't mean to sound like some self rightous, holier than thou person, but it was so disturbing what I witnessed on the Kinocti docks this weekend. There were 200+ people that didn't have the sense to spread out when the dock was sinking under their feet. There were people out there letting their 2-3 year old kids run around on a dock over 30 feet of water that was 50 degrees with no life jackets. I even saw a guy leaning up against a gas pump, smoking a cigarette and watching his kids fish. The marina manager came down and looked at the guy like "what the hell are you thinking" and politely asked hime to leave. But, the saddest thing was watching 200 people with ice chests keep every single thing caught. It didn't matter if it was 2 inches or 3 pounds, it went in the bucket or the chest. When we released our fish, people were yelling at us and could not believe we weren't keeping our bass and crappie. I yelled back, "someone has to their fish go". I also told another guy, "just because you can catch a hundred fish, doesn't mean you should keep a hundred". He looked at me like I was insane, but I think there was a language barrier. I just can't stand to see people making pigs out of themselves and you know that some of those people are there everyday. The saddest part was I did not see one game warden down ther checking licenses, under size bass or over limits. Sorry. I did not mean to go off. I just think that someone has to stand up for common sense and our finned friends every once in a while. Good fishing. Take a kid when you get a chance. The best part of the trip was watching my buddies boy tear em up.

Report: Brrrrr was right..I went out with one of the West's best fishing guides and he did not let me down. Andy "Cooch" Cuccia taught me so much about Clearlake and how to fish it and I now know why he is in such demand as a guide. I can not wait to go out with him again. Andy thanks for everything! Also want to thank Bob Higgins of Limit out tackle in Clearlake Oaks..He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. So when you're up in Clearlake Oaks or in Clearlake stop by his shop for some lake pointers and meet this great person.

Water Temp: 45.8-48
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Brrrrrrr, Very chilly day on ClearLake Thursday. Started out in the RattleSnake arm and work towards the Narrows, then over to Konocti and down below the old Boat works before heading back to the Oaks. Post frontal High seemed to slow the fishing down today. We did manage about 18 keepers with the biggest going 5lb 8oz on a lizard. C-riggin' was our ticket for the day as it caught most of our fish. Lizards and Baby Brush hogs in Green pumkin. Never caught a fish under 15 feet, most came in 18-23 foot of water, out in front of docks. Caught one 3 pounder on a jig up at the rock piles of Konocti, as we also caught 5 nice keepers on Jumbo minners. Minner bite was very slow today, only used 6 minners ALL day, just wouldn't eat it. Crappie fishing at Konocti was also very slow, lotta guys on the docks all whinin' as they was catching blue gills by the scores. A large mudline has blown down from the south, you could see a distinct line from SeaBreeze accross to Anderson Island. Tons of birds chasin Shad way off shore from WindFlower all the way down to the old Boat Works. A lot of birds in the Glenhaven area south towards the Oaks as well. These two areas seemed to be the most productive for us all day. West side of both south legs seemed dead and we caught only a couple of fish at Konocti.
City: OakleyTips: Not a bad day for post front High pressure conditions, but certainly not the typical bite that has been going on here for the past month.
