Report: My cousin, Chad, and I went out to the lake at about 5 in the evening yesterday. I went over to where Alex lost the big emale on the bed on Friday and tried to get her. I saw her as I walked up and she swam o. So I pitched in the Chart./Black Bass Stalker jig that Alex gave me on our last tourney when I won. I start hopping the jig and shaking it and all o a suddend it gets heavier so I set the hook hard. I ended up getting the male which went 2lb.3oz. My irst ish on a jig. Cool. So I try to get the emale or a ew more minutes but I can't see her because she swam away rom the bed. I wish emales were as aggresive as the males and wouldn't get all spooked rom a lure. Oh well. So me and Chad go down by the dam and I start throwing a Lucky Crat G-Splash 80 in Chart. Shad. Ater throwing it or about 5 min. I get a blow up and this time(unlike last time) get the ish. Oh ya, a 7incher. My irst topwater ish other than on buzzbaits. So ater ishing there or a while without anymore bites, we go over the the east bank by the dam and start drop shotting. Chad gets the irst one(his only one o the day) while its dropping to the bottom. It probably went 1lb. So I snag my rig and snap it o and set up a new rig. I throw it in about 3t. o water, and to my surprise, get a bite. It was a little 5in. bass that came unbottoned. At about 7:45p.m. I get one that eels like a pretty good ish, especially on 6lb. test. I get it to shore and weigh it. 1lb.2oz. my irst drop shot ish ever! Wohoo! Now I got more conidence in my jiggin, topwater, and drop shottin' skills. Ay about 8:00 we started throwing buzzbaits but don't get jack. We let at about 8:30.

Report: went to loma today rom 1-4pm.went over to a spot where i have been catching some real nice catish, all going 4-5pounds about ten a day but never ishing rom a boat.well we started ishing and we had no bites or about 2 hours.so we moved to the dam and the buddy i was ishing with hasnt been ishing since he was about 10 years old.we were using chicken liver and he tossed his bait right next to the shore.his bait was in about a 2 eet o waterand i told him he should cast a little deeper.ok his bait wasnt in the water 10 second when he hooked into a 8.4 pound cat.it was the biggest cat ive seen cought.i dont know i the reason we didnt catch any cats was because o the lake being a couple eet lower.i dont know but thats my excuse,or maybe it was the wind.
    City: antioch

Tips: there is going to be some serious catishing now through september.you ind where they are schooling upyou could ind a day ool o ishing last year i cought 150 cats in 1 weekend.chicken liver and mackerl seem to work the best or me.i cant seem to get on a good bass bite so i guess catishing will be just ine.

Report: Alex and me went out today or our King o the Loma III tourney. No one else showed up. We start out ishing on the east bank wiht poppers. I get a blow up, and like a retard, set the hook beore I even eel the ish. It was my irst topwater ish other than buzzbaits so I got a bit too excited. Lol. So we go on over to the dam and Alex starts drop shotting and I realize that I let my Gerber multitool on a tree back down a ways. I go back and look or it or a while but can't ind it. That sucks. So I go back over to the dam with Alex and start throwing a crankbait. I got hung up and tried to get it out using a technique Alex showed me. And once again, like a retard, I drop my rod in the water right in the rocks. A rock dented in my reel which is almost brand new. Oh well. Alex got a ew today but I'll let him tell you about it. Anyways I got one on a buzzbait in the back cove by the dam. That was it or the day.

Report: Well, ater I got word rom Cooch today that he'd be more than happy to pair up with me or the Snag Proo Open in August, I decided that I'd better start honing my roggin' skillz! So tonight I went over to the lake or about an hour and a hal with just one rod and a couple o rogs...and would ya believe it...I stuck mysel a couple o rog ish! Nothin' big, a couple o 2lbers, but I was still happy with rog ish. d:o) I had 3 hits and caught 2 ish...but the other hit didn't really count because he didn't eat it at all...just bumped it. So it wasn't my ault I missed him. LoL.

Report: Got out to the lake at 2:30p.m. Started throwing a popper to the right o the bridge on teh island. I had a bunch o bass, 2-5in., ollowing it. Then a bass that probably went 3lbs. came right up behind it and sat under it. I gave it a twich and it took o. I went on the bridge and saw a bunch o small bass sitting in by the tules. I pitched my senko in to them and saw one swim down to it. I saw my line twitch and I set the hook. It was just a little guy that probably only went 10inches. He was pretty at though. I went to my spot where I usually get a bite on the buzzer where I caught the 8 but didn't get any blow ups or anything. I also tried the popper with no luck. I stated going down to channel point and saw a bunch o spawning ish. They were red ears though. There were about 20-25 o them either guarding nests or spwning. I put on a Trout Magnet and caught 3 o them. They were pretty big. The biggest was 9oz. I could easily put my thumb in their mouths. I went over towards the swim lagoon and started out using the buzzer that has been doin good or me lately. I was reeling it in and looked down at my reel and beore I could look up I heard a splash and a tug at my line. I got the bass up onto shore and weighed it. 1lb.3oz. Not bad. Didn't get anything ater that. The wind started blowin pretty bad so I got out o there.

Report: I ished rom 3:15 to 7:00 p.m. Once again I started throwing the buzzbait again in the spot where I got the 8. Didn't get any hits or about 30min. So I went over towards Channel Point and stopped at the little clearing beore you get to the dock. Some kid was trying to get my attention while I was reeling in the buzzer and I looked over at him to see what he wanted. When I looked back I saw a 4lb+ bass swirl on my buzzbait but it didn't get it. These ish just aren't eating these buzzers very good. So I went over to Channel Point dock and threw the buzzer parallel to the dock and I saw a 3lb. bass come out and kind o ollow it. Didn't try to get it though. So then I go over by the swim lagoon and throw the buzzer or about 10min. Ater a while I get about a 3lber to jump almost cleat out o the water to get my buzzer. It gets it but doesn't hook up. I'm going to try a smaller buzzbait next time to see i they will eat it better. So then I go over to cat tail cove and don't get hit with the buzzer. I work my way down towards the dock over there and get on to hit the buzzer. And once again no hook up. Stupid ish need to eat these buzzbaits better. I work on down to the cove kind o by the dam but don't get anything. I go over to the spot where I caught the 2lber on the buzzer on riday and start lippin a senko. I get a bite and set the hook but no ish. It elt like a pretty good sized ish. It bit my senko right in hal. Lol. So I quickly rig up another senko and pitch out to the same little clump o grass about ten times. I get a bite and set the hook, this time getting the ish. I reel it in and put it on my digital scale. It went 6 even. 6ozes that is. Hahaha. Then my mom calls me and says she's coming to pick me up to go out to dinner or ather's day. I would have stayed longer and tried to get them on the buzzer once it got a little later.
    City: Antioch

Tips: The bass are still hitting buzzbaits but not eatign them all that great. Maybe i you try down sizing they will eat it better. I was using a 1/2oz buzzer today.Next time I go out I'll try a smaller 1/4oz buzzer.

Report: Went out this evening at about 6:30 ater my tourney on the delta with my club today. I only brought one rod with my buzzbait on it. I went over to the spot where I caught the 8 and had a hit rom a 1lber ater about ive casts. I ished my way over to the swim lagoon with one hit but no hook up. I went over to the swim lagoon and started throwing the buzzer and got one hit. Still no hook up even with the trailer hook. Then about 8 casts later I get one that may have been the one I missed a ew minutes beore. I didn't have my scale so I estimated it to be about 1.5lbs. I then went over to Cat Tail Cove and started throwing the buzzer. Got one right next to the tules on about my 2nd cast. I brought it up onto the shore and it lopped o and ell in the scum. I ran ater it and grabbed it beore it could get away. It went about 2-2.25lbs. I got one more hit about 5min. later a ew eet away. Prabably about a 2. Let at about 8:30. A pretty good 2 hours o ishing. Would have had a limit i I would have hooked up on those three I missed. And like you said, Alex, the trailer hook really helped.

Report: Aaron got it right today...buzzbaits were the ticket. And all day long none the less. Good job, Aaron. Anyways, here's my story. When we met up this morning, I asked Aaron i he cared where we ished, and he said no...so I thought, all right, good, then we can go ish my water. Even i it was one heck o a walk back there in the morning. LoL. I've been catching a lot o good ish o o WOOD on the backside o the lake this last week (had 17+lbs just rom shore or 4 ish easlier this week) and igured that I'd have everything wrapped up nicely or me to be dubbed King o the Loma today. But Aaron just wouldn't have anything to do with it. My girlriend caught the irst ish o the day on a drop-shot rig, but it wouldn't quite go 12"...just short at 11.75". Well, For some reason the bass just weren't eating the buzzbaits really good today, as you may notice rom several o Aaron's missed/lost buzzbait ish. I had one solid 4lber roll on my buzzbait early in the morning next to some wood, but didn't eat it. It wasn't too long ater that when I got my buzzbait stuck on an overhanging limb on a pretty steep bank. However, that buzzbait has been ar too good to me lately, so I just couldn't bare to part with it and decided to try and pull some risky business. Sure enough...it ended up with me sliding on down the bank into the water and taking an unintentional swim. I was pretty sicked up to just above my waist. Dumb Friday the 13th. Anyways...My original plan was to ish rom the dam to the dock on the backside with a buzzbait, then work backwards on that shoreline with a senko. Well, ater my buzzbait ailed me, I started working my way back with the senko. By now, Aaron had stuck his one buzzbait ish back in that cove that I just totally ignored in the morning because I haven't been able to get jack to eat around any tules lately in coves...only wood. Then I started working back with my senko, and Aaron came running up with his 2nd ish. Well, I didn't make it along the bank too ar with my senko beore I was standing there ishing and I noticed another big, dark shadow sitting in the water...I igured it was a good sized ish and quickly pitched my senko at it...she got pissed and watched it all and lexed her mouth at it a ew times as it layed on the bottom, but wouldn't eat it. Then she swam o and I saw how big she was...I realized that I was dealing with a good 8lb ish...then I just kept thinking...I hope she was on a bed, I hope she was on a bed...and sure enough, about 30 seconds later, she comes strolling back and sits right back where she was. WooHoo!! Another HAWG o a bedish! Well, I igured that I was going to risk it and sit on this ish or the rest o the day i I needed to...well, I got her to look at several baits and she got pretty pissed a ew times, but never actually ate anything. I spent clear up until about 12:20-12:30 going or her, but she just wouldn't go. In that time though, I ound another smaller 1 pound bed ish really close by and caught that one. ANywho, when we had about an hour let, I igured I'd better do something about Aaron being in the lead, so it was time to go try and sort through some little rats drop-shotting to try and manage a limit. However, we got over there, and the wind was working against us pretty bad making the drop-shot ishing diicult, I lost two decent ish beore I inally landed another 1 pounder right at (or maybe a minute ater) weigh-in time. Whether that ish counted or not though, it doesn't matter, it wouldn't have put me ahead o Aaron. Way to go bro...ya earned them jigs. d:o) Now or the ater-tourney report...ater both Tom and Aaron let to go back to the boat ramp to ish, I went back to my 10lb bed ish. LOL. However, I went back only to ind about 10-15 ducks all sitting on the bank digging around in the mud making everything a mess so you couldn't see anywhere and totally scaring o the big ish. I shooed the ducks away, and the bass came back ater about 10-15 minutes, but she was really skiddish and the muddy water was making it really diicult. So, I'm going to try heading back there tomorrow morning to see i I can get her. Anywho, ater a long day, my girlriend and I decided to just throw buzzbaits just or the heck o it on the way back to see i we could get lucky and stick any ish. Well, wouldn't ya know it...we ished the EXACT SAME water that I had covered in the morning with the buzzbait, but or some reason now I caught 3 ish in the middle o the day with it. All About 1.5-2lbs a piece. But...it was that trailer hook that did it or me. The irst one came unbuttoned as I was swinging him onto the shore, then the next two ish were both ONLY hooked by the trailer hook.

Tips: Just like Aaron said...buzzbaits...WITH trailer hooks...white/chartreuse seems to be doin' the job. Fish 'em all day long...

Report: Well today I was crowned King o the Loma. Me, Tom, Alex and his girlriend hit the lake at about 6:40 a.m. I started out throwing the buzzer that I got the 8lber on Tuesday. Got a 2lb. 2oz. ater a while in the cove over by te dam. Beore the next cast ater I released it, I thought to mysel, "Wouldn't it be cool i I caught one in the same spot on the next cast?" On the next cast I get about a 1.5lber to hit my buzzer but no hook up. Bummer. I stay over there or a while throwing the buzzer and a senko with no hits. Then I go over to the dock where Alex and Tom are ishing and ish there a while. On the way I see a couple o ish that look like they might be on beds. Don't get any bites at the dock though. So I move back to the cove where I saw the ish earlier. I started using a chart. senko and go ater this one ish. I can see my senko in the water and it starts to disappear. I look down, see a bass chomping on my senko and set the hook. Just a little 1lb.7oz. male. I'm still in the lead though. Haha. So me and Tom go over to Cat Tail Cove and I start throwing the buzzer again. I get about a 2lber ater about 5 min. and when I bring it up to shore it pops o(I need a trailer hook to hook these ish better). So then I hook into a 4-5lber on the buzzer and it wraps me up in the tules and tosses the lure. That sucks. About 5 min. later a catch a 15ozer on the buzzer. That gives me 4lb.8oz. Alex catches a 1lber and then we go over to the dam to drop shot. I didn't have any drop shot stu so I just threw a crankbait. Ater throwing it a while I hook into a small 7" bass. Then I get dubbed King o the Loma and get a ew jigs rom Alex and Tom. Thanks guys. Ater that I go over to the cove between the island and the boat ramp and Tom comes walking up and catches a couple o little guys on a senko. Tom leaves and I go over to the spot where I caught the 8lber and then I think to mysel, "That'd be cool i I caught a bass on my irt cast in this spot like I did when I caught the 8." On my irts cast in that spot I get about a 2lber but it, like the other 2 I lost, throws the hook right beore I get it on to shore. My sister came and picked me up about 5 min. later. A good day o ishing even though I lost as many ish as I caught.

Report: Got out o school today at 12:35 and decided I'd go to the lake since it was still early. Had my dad drop me o at about 1:45. The wind was blowing like crazy and there were white caps all over. I igured I wasn't going to have a very great day but it turned out to be an awesome day. Started out at Channel Point throwing a spinnerbait with no success. Tried a senko but the wind just blew it away and it wouldn't sink. Went over by the bridge and caught a bluegill on a trout magnet. I saw a bass that looked to be about 2.5-3lbs and pitched a senko to it. I didn't see the ish take the bait but my line started going tight so I set the hook and missed it. It must have had it by the tail. So I ished a little longer around the bridge without any takers. I went onto the island and turned let when you irst get on it. I went to a little clearing and decided to try my buzzbait I had caught the dink on Sunday. On my irst cast ater about ive turns o the reel handle a bass hit it. She started peeling out drag and that's when i realized it was a bigun. It was a pretty good battle. I couldn't see her until she got close to shore. Then I saw how big she really was. I hauled her up and grabbed her by the lip. It was awesome! I put her on my dig. scale and it irst said 6-11. And a I was thinkin "No way, she's got to be bigger than that." Then the scale read 8lb.6oz! An 8lb.6oz. on a Chart./White Persuader buzzer! My new personal record! Yes! I ran up to the ranger's station and had the lady take a ew pictures. Then i ran down to the boat ramp and revived her. She seemed like she was all right when I let her go and she swam o. She came up to the surace and i walked out in the water and revied her more then she swam away. She popped up about 15t out. The next thing I did was kind o crazy. I jumped in the water and swam out to her and touched her and she took o. It was worth swimming out there to save her. I went back to the kiosk and told the lady about the catch. Check out the pics at the kiosk next time ya go out. My sisters came and picked me up a ew minutes later. What an awesome day!

Report: Today Tom, Alex and I had our 4th KOTL tourney today. You prabably already know the standing i you read Tom's report. I got 2 today. 1 on a G-Splash about 11in. and a 1lb.6oz. on a buzzer. I also got a ew more blowups and swirls on those two lures. Towards the end o the tourney Alex spotted a bedish that he though might be 5 or 6lbs. Ater Tom was dubbed, Alex gave up on her and I gave her a try. For about 1hour and 45min. I tried a buzzer which she kinda looked at, a Frogzilla which I got her to bite when it sank, a Castaic bluegill, a senko, and a Lucky Crat Pointer. She lost interest in all o the lures but the Pointer. I threw it at her or a good 45min. or more. She would look at it but not take it. On this one cast I brought it up to the nest and let is suspend right in her ace and she nailed it. I set the hook as hard as I could and sunk the hooks into her. I knew then that she was more than 6lbs. I hualed her up onto shore, took the hooks out, and weighed her. 7lb.8oz.! Awesome! My second biggest bass at Loma and my ourth ish there over 5 pounds! And Alex couldn't even get her to bite. Haha. JK. I took a picture o her on the ground and then yelled or some kids to come over and take a ew pictures. I then released her and she swam o healthy as can be. I copuld have won the tourney i I had caught her during the tourney. Oh well. At least I got the thrill o catching the big girl. Ater that I let.

Report: Well Alex, Jamond, Aaron and my sel hit contra loma in ull orce today. Today I learned that its a good thing to sit on a big bass or a long time and not give up till you go mentaly insane. We all started ishin at around 800 Alex had the irst ish soon ater I cought 2 little dinks one on a senko and the other on a drop shot rig. Well now im gunna get to the interesting part o the story, so we all eventualy gathered in cattail cove we were all working the same shore line but at dirent spots and to my supprise and delight I saw Josh Schroder I ished with him when he got Top nut and Big nut on the delta any how he was ishin this bed ish and couldnt get the male or the emale to get a go at his lure when he let he told me I could have the spot yippie! So or a while I ish it then i decided to go grab my stu and let Alex have a at it he got the smaller male to eat the skirt but nothing more, I got it to chomp a big brush hawg but either I riped it outta his mouth too ast or he just didnt have it yet. Alex let and Jamond returned rom the west cove and he ished it with me inact he came right intime to see me LOSE the 3lb+ male and see my invention the drip shot castaic sunish lol I used a drop shot to get the bait to stay in one place better while twitching it in the ace o the male who but it got the hook but I gave a baby hook set to and paid or :( So I was tryin to get this dumb emale that weighed like easly over 5-6 lbs to bite somethin i had her bite the castaic sunish drop shot but she got it by the top or head and no hook so I worked that ish till every one was gone bout hal an hour later I decided i had had enough but then i remembered a secrete weapon i had something Ddawg made (rom my specs) it was a white top chart bottom lipin jig with a clear brush guard and or a trailer I added a senko tail o matching color or bulk liped that into the area she looked at it but i pulled it too ar she backed o Took another lip she came out she looked straight at it and in an instant she had eaten the whole thing and I had set the hook harder than Ddawg on tournament day lol she thrashed about and I couldnt gain any thing on her my drag was set to let 3lb ish barely pull line out so i quickly reeled down and while liting back up tightened the drag I backed her onto shore holy cow she was a real horse! then she loped around and the hook poped out so i practaly dove on her i put a hand on her head and another on her tail so she couldnt lop back in I liped her and weighed her in at 7 3/4 lbs nearly 8 My scale isnt that accurate and at irst I thought she was 6 3/4 I ran up to the ranger station to try and see i some one had a camera to take the pic no luck no one home! the guy mmowing the lawn had let no one in sight but AHH! one trout isherman by the pool so i run down to him he dosent notice me becaus im on the other side o a willow lettin the girl get some water I come out rom under it and all he can say is holy! oh my god oh my god shes huge! I ask i he has a poloroid or digital and he tells me he usualy brings one but decided to not this time DAMN! I HAVE NO FREAKIN PROOF! so I revived her a bit more then walked her down to her bed and made sure she could swim and stay alive beore I let her tail goshe swam o like a champ! Thats the biggest contra loma bass ive ever had and my largest bass in a real long time. Ill scan and show you guys the lure i got her on,Tom

Report: I'll keep this report airly short seein' as to how most o you guys already know about my ishin' yesterday. I stuck about 10 ish yesterday with the biggest 5 goin' probably 23+lbs. All but one o them was by sight ishing them on beds. The one that wasn't sight ishing was caught on the east bank by dead sticking a t-rigged snoozer alien as I went to take a pee. LOL. That one went about 3.5lbs Biggest one yesterday was 5.5 - 6. Fun stu.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Hey Sturgeon Kid, I also set my own personal record today. I started out at channel point at about 7:30. I caught a small bass on a senko at about 8:40 that went 1lb.11oz. About an hour later I caught another dink on a spinnerbait that went 1-7. I went on over towards the boat ramp and saw a ew big bass on the way. I stopped and tried to get them to bite on a senko. One o the bass, which I thought was probably a 4.5, hit my senko. I set the hook but not hard enough. She came unbuttoned ater 2 seconds. I pithced out one more time and this time she ate it good. I set the hook hard and hauled her up on the shore. She went 6lb.11oz. My biggest bass ever! She came on a 5" blue black/chartreuse lake Senko. Ater I released her, I tried to catch one that looked even bigger that was nearby. Couldn't get her to go though. About an hour later I caught a 1-1 on a senko.
