Report: Well, went out today on the water at 6:00 am.Thought today might be to windy, but the lake actually was almost like glass.Started out ishing the north side o the lake with a crankbait,And my partner within 5 minutes hooks up with a nice bucket 5lbs.That would be the size or the day,With the trip starting out like that it seemed that it might be one o those great ishing days.My partner also hooked one more at about 1lb,Me well I got about 8 buckets,Biggest going i only 1lb.Some o my ish were almost the size o my lure. Not a good day as ar as lbs,I really like a little more chop on the water when I throw cranks. The bigger ish must be deep,And I sometimes have a hard time with patience with my plastics.Well there it is not a bad day not a great one,My stripes were gone to today, ish on.

Tips: The biggest ish came on a lure we both were using,Hit 5 yards o the rocks,Fish em ast or slow when it hits you will no hard strikes

Report: Well, I guess that I must have the worst luck there is then when it comes to topwater on Contra Loma. I mean, I've also always thought to mysel...this lake has got to be great or topwaters, so I always throw them, and it just doesn't happen as well as you guys say or me. Heck, the Pop-R is even my avorite topwater and I always throw it!! LOL. I've even tried it in the middle o theday like you described in the middle o summer. I've caught a ew good bass with it on loma, but not like you described. Guess 'll just have to throw it some more. Anyways, sorry or the late report on this one, but I've just got to make a report about this trip I had a while ago out on Contra Loma beore I let on vacation back east. I got my best limit EVER or 5 ish. I had a digital scale with me, and or 5 ish...I weighed a little over 30lbs. My best day ever on Contra Loma or big ish. There's a picture o one o them at the ranger's station at the main entrance. I think that was the 6lber. All the ones I caught ater that, there wasn't anyone at the ranger's station cause I caught them in the evening. So there's just the pic o the 6lber there. Anyways...listen to these weights...4lbs 13oz, 5lbs 12oz, 6lbs, 6lbs 11oz, and 7lbs 8oz. Those were the best 5. besides that, I caught maybe 8 others all in the 2-3lb range. The strange thing is...it wouldn't seem as though I was doing anything much dierent than beore. I was still using that same t-rigged junebug colored worm on the east bank. Now here's the trick that made it dierent...heavier weight, rip it through the weeds...and I mean rip it!!

Report: I just went ishing rom shore with my riend last night just or about an hour and a hal beore the park closed at 9. I wanted to see i we couldn't get some kind o topwater bite goin'. I ended up catching 4 in that hour and a hal. Three o them on a topwater lure called a Spittin' Twitcher and the last one on a Zara Spook. My riend ended up catching one on a buzzbait. My three on the Spittin' Twitcher were all 2.5-3lbs, and the one on the Zara Spook was about 2lbs. My riend's buzzbait ish was only about a pound.
    City: Antioch

Tips: This was the best topwater bite I've ever had at Contra Loma. It may not seem like much, but I've just never been able to ind a good topwater bite here beore. I pick up maybe one or two i I'm lucky whenever I try them. It seems as though the best topwaters or this lake are ones where you can use the Walk The Dog technique. Fish early mornings and late evenings or the topwater bite.

Report: Once again, went out to look or some bigger ish in the loat tube today. Went straight out to my rockpile and ished everywhere rom 5-30t o water. Spent most o my day here tryin' to get some ish to go. Just didn't happen though. Tried a c-rigged worm, spinnerbait, drop-shottin' inesse worms, various t-rigged worms, crankbait, and a jig. Tried them all at all depths. Nothin' produced. Best I got was I had a good hit on a t-rigged Toledo Tickler worm made by ReAction Lures that bit the worm right in hal. Ater spending a couple o hours on the rockpile without an succuss, I looked around and started makin' my way to those new rocks at the swim area. First pass, threw a jig, nothin'. Second pass, crankbait, nothin'. Next pass, drop-shottin' a 4" baby ring ry made by Lake Fork Tackle...picked up 6 bass. These were no small bass either. I ound the better ish inally. These were all in the 3-4lb range and I even lost one that would've gone maybe 5-5.5lbs. I caught all 6 o those bass within the last 45 minutes beore I had to leave too.
    City: Antioch

Tips: Try drop-shotting around the rocks in 7-10t o water or the better ish right now. Suspend your bait about a oot o the bottom...

Report: Well, I ished rom about 10 until 4 today. So a good 6+ hours o ishing. Like I said, I was going to look around or the bigger ish today. So I spent most o the time lookin' or those guys. First I hit up this rockpile that I knew o that's kind o out towards the middle o the lake. I was throwing a 4" pumpkin pepper colored rench ry worm on a c-rig to try and ind those rocks out there. Took me about 30 minutes beore I inally ound 'em. They were even arther out than I remembered. On about my 2nd cast with that c-rig though once I ound the rocks...got bit and I pulled in a good 4lb largemouth. Deinitely better quality than last time. It came out o 10-11t o water. Ater that I ended up missing a ew other hits with the c-rig on those rocks and even caught a 22" channel catish. I then switched over to drop-shotting a yammamoto hula grub around the rocks. I then stuck a good 3lb largemouth with that in roughly 15t o water. Nothin' more ater that though. It sucks though because I let all o my bullet weights at home, so I wasn't able to throw anything t-rigged. I was hoping to maybe throw some 10" worms or various other things on that rockpile that probably could've dun much better, but didn't have that option today. Anywho...ater that...in about the last hour and a hal, I ound some bass busting the surace chasing minnows on this one bank line so I started throwing a 4" senko. I'd just watch or a bass to bust the surace, then cast right at it, and most o the time it'd get picked up beore it even sank a oot into the water. I ever caught a ew by ishing the senko like a topwater lure across the surace and had ish blow-up on it. These were all smaller ish though with the biggest one goin' about 2lbs. Was still un though. Ended up catching 16 bass in all today. I did ind some o those bigger guys out on that rockpile, but not many...maybe I'll do better t-riggin' some plastics out on those rocks...

Report: Well, it eels good to be back and on my home lake again. I ished in my loat tube rom about noon until around 5ish. I caught a total o 14 bass today. Nothing that big though with the biggest one topping at around 2.75lbs. I caught most o them on a t-rigged 5" junebug colored Zoom inesse worm. Two bass came on a Senko (one o which was a 2.75lber) and one other bass on a 1/2oz lipless crankbait. Ater I had caught two bass with the plastic worm no less than 10t away rom me, I igured that maybe I should back o o the bank a ways and that's when I really started catchin' the ish. I missed several other bites and lost a couple o other bass. The majority o the bass were holding way o o the bank in about 7-10t o water around the weeds.
    City: Antioch

Tips: In the summer at this lake, I do much better ishing slightly deeper water with jigs and plastic worms in the weeds...just never got around to throwing a jig today. I'll try lookin' around or the bigger ones next time...

Report: I never post here, usually just read, but I'm bored at work so here goes. Tubed CL last Saturday. Got slammed on a white blade irst thing in the morning, hooking about 5 or 6 rom 1 to 3lbs in about 10 or 15 minutes. All but one came unbuttoned, need a crankin' stick. When blade bite slowed, lipped a senko or 2 dinks. Got tired o that, threw a speed trap and hooked a 6 incher. Wanted to get a couple more beore leaving, so I went to old reliable, texas rig. Picked up a 3, then a 1.5 on back-to-back lips. It slowed ater that, and I bounced.
