Report: Wow what a day we had thursday my 7 biggest fish totaled 28 pounds with the biggest going 6.4 pounds. Black/blue jigs 1/4oz bullet head with a smoke blk/blue flake 4" twin tail yamamoto grub as a trailer and fried green tomato crank bait (BILL NORMAN)did the trick. Bass were in 7 to 10 feet of water boat traffic was light. My fishing partners big bass was 4 1/2 pounds his second time on the lake. Traffic will be heavier over the weekend. Evening bite is very good also. 559-689-3255

Tips: Flats with deep water near by all 7 of my biggest fish were in a 15 yard area. Dont let the color of the water fool you its not slowing the bite down at all.

Report: Please note there have been a lot of dead fish in the lake. If you do not have a deep bass kit for decompressing swim bladders or don't know how to use one FLAG me down and I'll give you one and show you how to use one. We are losing too many fish to deep dropshotting. I have the tan Fisher bass boat (BigJohn's Toy) or go by the Ranger station as I dropped some off there as well. Thank you.

    Water Temp: 48-52

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I Hit the lake on the 20th of Feb. Big fish of the day - 2 7's and an 8 pounder. "Verified by the Rangers." And some smaller in the 1 to 3 pound class. Hit it again on the 24th to try some new home made baits. Small up to 5.5 lbs.
Hit it again on Friday the 2nd. Big fish for the day was 7.6 lbs. hooked by Joey my 14 year old fishing partner on his 3rd cast. It was the biggest fish he ever landed (and on 6 lb test, no less). That made my day. A few more in the 1.5 to 3.0 range. All the females are fat and ready for spawning.
    City: Fresno

Tips: The trees are blooming, the water is warming. I think in the next 7 to 10 days the bites should get real good. The fish are moving into shallow water to get heat off the rocks from the sun and looking for spawning areas to settle into a nesting place. Brown jigs w/craw trailers, white/chartreuse spinners, swimbaits in 2 to 15 feet off the banks.
Have fun and I'll see you on the lake.

Report: Got on the water about 6:30 for Sierra Bass Club tournament. Started in the 5mph zone fishing shallow with a lipless crankbait. Had 3 keepers 1.5-3.5lbs by 7:15. Sun got up and reaction bite went away. Wind picked up about 10:00 and started throwing the crankbait again, caught fourth keeper at 10:30. After running to a couple different spots, I ended up fishing one of the islands and started catching again at about 2:00. Caught about 6 fish between 2:00 & 3:00 drop shotting, nothing big enough to cull. Ended up in third place with 9.43lbs. It took about 12lbs to win.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Best bites came shallow in the morning.

    Water Temp: 51 to 53.8

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Last week the swimbait fish started to show again in shallow water. Also there were some nice jig fish caught also in water 15 to 25 feet. Bass are 2 1/2 to 5 pounds. There were a couple caught on swimbaits that went 7 pounds. The warm front moving through the area and warm weather next week should produce some really nice bass on swimbaits and jigs. Take your pick of areas to fish there holding on rock piles on flats and dropsoffs and around brush piles. 559-689-3255
    City: kerman ca

Tips: ROCK PILES AND FLATS ARE YOUR BEST BETS THESE BASS ARE LAYING OUT ON FLATS MID MORNING AND AROUND ISOLATED ROCK PILES AND EDGES OF DROP OFFS THERE STARTING TO MOVE UP SLOWLY AND SHALLOW BASS ARE THERE. 8 TO 25 FEET DEEP ARE HOLDING MOST OF THE BASS IN THE ABOVE AREAS.

I hope we get the rain this week as we need it bad.
    City: Fresno

Tips: Spinners off the banks in the early Am. I like my bluegill ones try making your own. Brown jigs with brown or pro gold. Drop shot if you like dark green and try this-- take the weight off your dropshot rig and put a JIG on it. 2 hooks are better than one and they like jigs in deep water as well. HINT.. SMILE. Water Temp: 50.8 to 51.0

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Saturday was pertty good day to be on the water there were some nice bass to 3 1/2 pounds been caught on jigs and live bait. Jigs in light grn pumpkin w/yamamoto ( 208 ) twin tail 4" grub watermelon red/blk flake as a trailer produced most of the bass in 18 to 25 feet of water.Live bait nightclawers also produced nice bass in that same depth. Warmer days are ahead swimbait fish should be up in shallower water there are trout been caught from the bank and from boats either trolling or anchored some trout are in the 12 to 14 inch range. Mid 60s by the end of the week but may drop back to high 50s by saturday. Bigger bass are showin up from 3pm till dark islands isolated rock piles dam area and points are all holding bass. Traffic may be heavier on weekends 559-689-3255
    City: Kerman Ca.

Tips: Warmer weather mean shallower fish and jigs drop shot or swimbait and even livebait should all work some baits better than others. Its this time of year when you hook a good fish other fish fallow the hooked fish to the surface have a jig tied on and drop it down if you have somebody fishing with you sometime the fish fallowing may be bigger and hooking that fish may be a good bet.

    Water Temp: 52 to 53

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Bass here are on the small side but there are still a few to 3 pounds. Jig fishing is still holding up and drop shot is also working. Bass are in 25 to 50 feet of water and holding tight to structure.Tube baits and hula grubs may be two baits youmay want to try also the bite is slower and changing up the look of theses bait may get you a few more hits and hookups on bigger fish. cinnamon with purple/blk flake tubes also dark green pumpkin blk flake and watermelon red/blk flake are all good color. In hula grubs the dark green pumpkin and watermelon red/blk flake are my favorties. Use a bullet heads in 1/4 or 3/8 oz for the tubes and 3/8 and 1/2oz football heads for the hula grubs. trout plant was earlier this week. 559-689-3255
    City: kerman ca

Tips: Target bass holding tight to cover i like getting over a target area im fishing and jig my baits stright over the top of the area im fishing always keeping in contact with the structure or bottom. BASIC COLORS HERE DONT CHANGE THIS TIME OF YEAR.

    Water Temp: 51 to 53

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Jig fish and live crawdads were the baits that work well this week bass to 4 1/2 pounds on jigs and a 6 pounder on live crawdads. There still a good bite on bass in the 12 to 14 inch range 35 to 50 feet is a good depth to fish. I was up last saturday and we found most of are fish from 38 to 50 feet. Traffic is light. Brown/purple jigs 3/8 or 1/2 oz ( Bullet head ) tiped with a 221 cinnamon twin tail 4" yamamoto trailer worked well. Lake is at 56% of capacity and there should be another trout plant after the new year. 559-689-3255
    City: kerman ca.

Tips: 5 mph flats in 38 to 50 feet of water also isolated rock piles are holding bass. Dont forget to move up on the dam in the early morning or late evening. Slow down swim the jigs keep in contact with the bottom some bites are lite.
