Report: The deep bite for small fish is still wide open. I caught 40+ fish from 25-35 ft. deep. The morning yielded a few nice top water fish, but after that, could only get bites in the 30 ft. range on the drop shot. I wanted to throw more reaction baits, but all the boats psyched me out. It was very crowded with the Holiday. It made it hard to fish fast down the bank in most areas. I had plenty of action, but mostly very small fish. Where are all those 2-3 lb fish we cath in the early spring? You would think that fishing deep would yield a little more quality. I have caught a few 3 lb fish in deep water in the past 5 weeks, but not many. Take Mark's advice and find some quiet areas that are not seeing the pressure some of the more popular areas are seeing. Water is still very warm. We need more cold nights to get the fish moving. If you are catching better quality than I am, please let me know. All those little fish are starting to frustrate me. Don't get me wrong, still having fun out there. Still a great bite to keep the kids happy.
    City: Clovis

Tips: Try drop shotting larger baits or probe the deeper water with a jig to entice a larger bite. When not so crowded, stick with the reaction baits until the sun gets up. Monitor the water temp to guage when the turn over might occur.

Report: Friday and saturday may be the best two day this week for jig and swimbait fish if this storm turn out to bring a good amount of rain. Bass are still in the 25 to 40 foot depth but the storm will bring some fish shallow. Humps flats and points are all holding good bass right now. you can also dropshot these fish in deeper water around the dam area. KEY fish areas with less traffic. I pick areas where nobody was fishing in the 5 mph area and also on the main body of the lake and we caught bass up to 4 pounds. Most of are fish were on the flats. 559 689-3255

Report: Fished for about 4 hours and managed to squeak out to little dinks-one on a crankbait the other drop shotting a wacky rigged worm. Both fish were in great shape and the water was pretty clear-probably 6-7' visability in most places-still alot of green crap in the water but still clear. Good luck-hope you do better than I did!

Report: Fished club tournament Sat. Boy did I stinkup the place..Between my non-boater and myself we must have caught 60-70 fish, most were 10-12 inchers...culled through 4 small limits, just couldn't get the big bite. The jig they liked the last two weeks didn't get me a bite.. They would destroy Robo worms in almost any color we threw..the bite was a mushy bite and you had to feed it to them..Since I am not in the points race in the club I just dumped my little limit at the ramp and went home.my non-boaters limit was 4.62 for four fish..he culled through at least four limits to get that..I think the high pressure killed the bite for big fish..if you want to catch a bunch of small fish this is the place to go...just drag Robo worms, anywhere you happen to be..we caught fish all over the lake..I think 6lbs won the tournament..

Report: Bass here are still in the 2.5 to 4.0 pound class and jigs are the choice of baits here still green pumpkin with a 208 yamamoto single tail grub in 1/4 or 3/8 oz bullet head jig works will in depths of 15 to 30 feet. I target the bigger fish so i like the deeper water this time of year. Brushogs in watermelon red/blk flake and junebug also are working. Carolina rig these baits and fish around rock piles and points also ledges are very good right now. traffic is heavier on weekends as swim bait fisherman are starting to hit the humps and there a good bite on humps if you follow behind them throwing jigs. Let them work a hump or island really good after they move off go in and work the same area you'll suprised what you can catch. 1-559-689-3255
    City: kerman ca.

Tips: No need to fish fast work areas in the 5mph area around rock piles and ledges are all good right now. Any questions just e mail here at markinman51@aol.com

Report: Fished from 9:30 am to 1 pm. Started on the left side of the dam then into the adjoining cuts. Fish wanted the baits moved very slowly or dead sticked. Most of our fish came out of 15' to 20'. We caught plenty of fish but short on size. A 50 fish day with about 20 over 12". Biggest was 3 1/2 and best five would have gone 12 1/2 lbs..
    City: Delhi

Tips: Most fish and biggest came from drop shotting curly tail shad pattern worms. Also caught fish on brown jig w/watermelon sweet beaver trailer and split shotting greenie stlye 4" or 6" worms. No fish on cranks.

Report: Well not not much of a change here the bass are still in 8 to 30 feet of water and the bigger fish are falling too pumpkin green 1/4 oz bullet head jigs with a 208 watermelon single tail yamamoto grub trailers and also brushogs in watermelon with red/black flake are also working well.5mph area in 15 to 30 feet of water are holding bass to 5 pounds. Brush piles ans edges of rock piles are holding most fish. I like the mid morning bite and into the afternoon for the better fish there no need too get there before sunrise these fish bite all day here lake is at 66% of being full the good structure is still in 25 feet of water. traffic is heavier on weekends but there still plenty of room to fish. 559 - 689-3255
    City: kerman ca

Tips: Jigs in 1/4 to 3/8 oz. Bullet head Lite green pumpkin watermelon red/black flake Yamamoto single tail grubs. Also brushogs are both working well right now. Areas too fish points, dropoffs brush piles and edges of rock piles. If your jig fishing make long cast and keep contact with the bottom by hold rod tip at 2 o' clock and reel slow bullet head jigs work best for this as you can swim them and contact is felt easier and hits are easier to detect.

Report: If you have waiting for a good time to take a kid fishing, now is the time. For sheer numbers of bites, Eastman is on fire right now. Not a lot of big fish to be had, but we did have two 3lb fish. Our best 5 probably weighed 11lbs. Even though the sizes were small, my seven year old son and I caught over 60 fish. For a 7 year old to catch over 20 fish in one day, was tons of fun for him. We caught about a dozen fish up shallow early on reaction baits and then moved out to 25-35 ft. and fished vertically. We fished drop shots and also shook a 6in. 1/4oz. dart head. Caught the two 3lbers on the dart head. If you don't mind lots of small fish, this is the place to go. If it can keep my son occupied for 7 hours, it can't be half bad. Take advantage of the good bite and take a kid fishing.
    City: Clovis

Tips: Stay shallow in the morning and throw top water and reaction baits. As the sun gets up, move out and look for structure and fish. A decent graph is a must for this type of fishing. My son loved looking for fish on the graph and then calling his shot. Better fish in the after noon were in 30+ ft. of water.

Report: Went up to prefish for up coming club tournament..Started on submerged humps near dam..there were several boats with the same idea..Caught a lot of 1.5 and 2lb lb fish in 5-10 feet of water...caught one 4lber..moved to the east side on steeper banks and started throwing jigs..that was the ticket...stuck one 8.25lb then a 4lber and next was a 10plus lber that went off my board..went over to another boat and asked to borrow a longer board..she was 24 1/2 inches long and had a 18 1/4 inch girth...hard as a rock..Jigs were the bait of choice for me and a NetBait PumpkinCraw Trailer..worms caught little fish. I think I will use the jig for the tournament...Yes I put them back...I wouldn't kill fish like those..
    City: Madera

Tips: Dead sticking the jig I think was the trick..same as the worm..if you moved it much you just caught smaller fish..

Report: Fished from 6am-3pm. Rain caught us off guard, but fishing was good. Fished submerged humps and rockpiles in 5mph, also fished islands in front of dam and swimming area. Between two of us we landed 20-the largest going 5.7. The rest were smaller with a few 2-3lbers. 19 fish fell to the jig. The other was on a creature. Larger fish are still deeper @ 20-25'. Also, I want to thank Mark Innman for helping Aaron and I become familiar with this lake-look for his posts as they are very helpful!

Report: The bite here has been fair and sunday it was good for me pumpkin green 1/4oz bullet head jigs with a 208 single tail grub ( yamamoto ) work on bass to 3 pounds in 18 to 25 feet of water. Most fish were around rock piles and on edges of brush piles the bigger fish were in the 20 foot plus deapth. Also working are carolina riggged baby brushogs in watermelon red/blk flake. This lake will only get better here in the next 3 or 4 weeks as the bass will really start schooling up on long points and will start holding bass with deeper water near by and also humps crank or blade these areas as the bass will move up on these areas and stay. I caught some bass on baby bass pop-r's but my bigger fish fell to jigs. there not much traffic to slow the bite so if you'll can hit this lake its getting that time for bigger fish.
    City: kerman ca

Tips: Areas to fish 5mph humps and rock piles brush piles trees all in this area. Dam area i like in the afternoon. East wall mid morning and 5mph all day. I like the 5mph area best Swimming area has nice drop off also that holds nice bass. 559-689-3255

Report: Fished from 8pm to 3:30am and had some really good fishing. Fished the 5mph area and caught fish between 15-30 feet deep. The larger fish (3 and 4 lbs) were caught around 20-25 deep. We used jigs and brush hogs to catch around 15 fish. The smallest fish was 2lbs and the largest being 4lbs. Had fun and learned a lot about the lake.

Tips: Brown jigs with Yamamoto single tail trailers in watermelon red or green pumpkin with black flakes. Also try brush hogs in watermelon red or green pumpkin with black flakes. Super slow and the bite s very light. Good luck!

Report: Seems like the summer jig bite has slowed, especially for nice fish. Fished the east shore from 7am-12noon, only two small fish, and those were real tentative bites.Very similar to two weeks ago in the 5mph area. The fisherman who reported on night fishing must have the right idea...
    City: Clovis

Tips: I only fished jigs, though I covered a lot of colors and depths...someone throwing other types of lures may have had much better results...

Report: Well my buddy and I went out on Saturday around 3pm until 8:30pm and had some really good fishing. My buddy caught an +8 lb (couldn't weigh it because the batteries were dead on the scale) and i caught a 4 lb and a 5 lb. Together we caught around 26 fish between 1 pound to 3 pounds, besides the bigger fish. The top water bite picked up at dusk and that is when we started catching the smaller fish. We fished the 5 mph zone earlier in the afternoon and caught the bigger fish there then went to the dam area. Didn't catch anything until we saw fish breaking the surface and the hunt was on. We used top water, Team Diawa's, jigs, Senko's and grubs. The bigger fish hit the jigs. Great day on the water!

Tips: Ready Mark's tips they work.
