Water Temp: 72-76
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took out a couple of great guys today and enjoyed a nice day of fishing without all the summer boats and waves. Kept it simple today and used jigs and crank baits to get our bites. Points and rocky walls produced some nice bass on Paradise Tackle Jigs in the green/brown skirts and watermelon/black flake twin-tail trailers. Also plain hula grubs worked as well. On steep walls, Lucky Craft lipless crankbaits in the Chart/blue and the Char/Shad produced and also the Normans DD22 Sour Grape produced bass over the slot
City: ParadiseTips: Fish during the week and avoid the weekend if you can.

Water Temp: 77-81
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished with five guys that were on a house boat for the three days of food and fun. I took them out to the main body on long banks with a Brown/purple spider jig in 12-20 ft. Most of the bass were sport and a few Largemouth. The bass were mostly in the slot but a few over. Also fished the Middle Fork on small rock banks with a slop and a drop shot with a leach in any color. Just shake and sit and wait for the bite. Early in the morning and most of the day, best bite before dark.
City: RocklinTips: bring plenty of leaches and jigs, the rocks eat them up.

Water Temp: 76-80
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I took out a wonderful family for a half day Friday. As a guide the most important objective is to give your clients a great, fun and happy experience and with that, catch some fish. Well I had such a great time with this family as they were learning how to fish and how excited they all got for each other catching bass. I keeped it simple with shakey-head Robo worms and twin tail grubs jigs to get the bites for the family. We fished in the main body on the points and rocky walls and a little on the North Fork in mud lines. Lots of high fives and photos of fish and fishermen for jobs well done. It was a great day.
City: ParadiseTips: Bites came from 5-30 ft. The watermelon/red flake and watermrlon/black flake twin tail grub jig worked the best for the day.

Water Temp: 79-82
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I took 2 dads and their respective 9 and 10 year old sons for a half day trip - on a summer Sat no less. We launched at Lime Saddle. Fishing was fairly slow and I spent a lot of time retying, untwisting lines and the like. We did have a great time and saw a few quality August spotted bass. After getting all 4 of them fishing, I threw a small grub trying to hook one for the boys to land. I set the hook on a long cast and immediately gave the rod to the 9 yr old. We finally saw it and I was amazed. I netted his 15 1/4 inch spot! One of the dads landed a small one and soon the other dad landed a "chunk" spot - heavy but only 14 3/4 inches. We missed a few too but the morning was a real success and I we had the boys casting like pros after a few hours. The end to a fun morning - I got a ride up the ramp to my truck. THAT would have been a hike!!!! Lake is 44-45 percent - on Aug 1st. Very sad.
City: Yuba CityTips: The water had good color everywhere we went and we saw lots of very small bass feeding on the surface. We just threw Robo worms and grubs. MMIII was the best color along with oxblood. Bass seemed to be 15 to 20 feet - even the good quality ones. Big, chunk rock held the fish we caught.

Water Temp: 74-79
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Friday afernoon I took a couple of brothers out that fish with me each year. They are always a lot of fun to fish with and I always want to make sure I get on some nice bass for them. In the past few weeks most of the bite has been on worms, the usuall colors,(MM,Arrons Majic, AYU, Witches T, Salt and Pepper, Morning Dawn.) But in the afternoon there was a nice breese and it was difficult for the guys to feel the bite. So I changed to the jig which hadn't been on for a while. We used the Paradise Tackle 1/2 oz. watermelon 4/0 hook jig with a watermelon/red flake trailer and the guys were on fire. Points and walls were both producing bracket and above bass. As the Sun went down, we pulled out the Spooks and the top water action began. We did have to find calm water behind points and walls as the bass seemed to be waiting in the eddys caused by the wind. It was a great afternoon/eve. trip.

Water Temp: 81
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Took my daughter and her new boyfriend out about 5:30 in the evening and went up the south fork. It was hot and no breeze. The fishing was slow at the start but after the sun was off the water thing picked up. We had a couple on spinerbaits all under the slot but picked up about 8 on grubs and lost 5. 3 over the slot biggest just over 3lbs. all fish were in about 10' to 15'. Fished till dark. Lost somthing really big, had it on for about 60 to 70 seconds and it came unbuttoned. I have caught some nice fish out of Oroville but what ever it was that had to be the largest I have ever had hooked at Oroville.
City: san joseTips: Used dark blue and fire cracker grubs worked very slowly in 10' to 15' and blue spinner baits. Good luck

Water Temp: did not check..
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Oroville with a friend, new to bass fishing, and wanted him to catch fish. we went straight out to the main body and caught fish on points on topwater. when the sun came up, we caught fish in the canyons in the shade. AFter that, it sucked. Water was about 140 ft off full pool (around 760). Many below the slot, a couple in the slot, one maybe over it.
City: where the fish are....Tips: topwater first thing in the AM, then find shade, then go home.

Water Temp: 67-79
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This has been a very busy week on the water. Traditionally the week of the 4th of July is one of the busiest. I finished it with 6 trips and as it got closer to the 4th the busier it got. My clients were all fantastic and from all over the USA and as far as Masadonia. The fishing was also as spread out. We had to cover a lot of water to find bass. The key was to fish slow and deep down to 35+ feet on walls, points, and river chanels. Most of the bite came from 6am to 10 am and tapperd off from that time, however the bite did pick back up in the evening. There was also a reaction bite in the afernoon with lipless crank baits as well.
City: ParadiseTips: Gitzits tubes, Paradise Tackle Jigs, Robo worms on drop shot and shacky head hooks, senkos all were working through out the week. Colors seem to change almost daily. Fish shallow (early) to deep(later) to find feeding bass.

Water Temp: 69-72
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Sunday I took the Mrs. out for a fun day on the Lake. We started out a tad late but 10:30am was a great start. The Lake was beautiful and lots of activity. We went out of Lime Saddle and found fish on step walls of the West Branch, down the slot on ponints and walls, on the main body points and mud lines and on walls on the South Fork. We took Spots,Large Mouth and Smallies on a variety of gear. Drop shot with Robo Worm AYU, Dart head worm, Gitzit tubes, Rattle Traps, and Yamamoto Senko's in the natural shad.
City: ParadiseTips: As the weather stablizes, the lake will start fishing better and better. Right now move to find the bait fish or find the bass that are feeding. Keep changing things to find out what they want.

Water Temp: 73-75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Met my buddy Scott out at Oroville for our first try at the lake. On the water about 8, fished till about 5:30. Total we put 7 fish in the boat with five decent keepers (probably 8.5-9 lbs.) in the boat by 3:00.
Started off up the North arm, about 45 minutes in picked up the first fish on a Izzy Rigged Flirt 4.95 - Dirty Sanchez in about 15 ft. Went almost 4 hours without another bite. Just a short way out the East arm, a non keeper. Ran to main body and found a nice pair of small coves with stained water, picked up four keepers on football jig - rootbeer/ green, izzy rig (same as above) and a brass/glass rig with a 4" pumpkin/orange MGM worm.
Ran a short ways back up the North arm into another stained water stretch, saw lots of fish busting the smelt, but only coaxed up one non-keeper.
Long day on the water, but all in all, a success for flying blind on a new lake.
Might have been a club tourny out there, lots of bass boats running and gunning from spot to spot and guys checking livewells, wonder how they did?
City: LincolnTips: Small worms and natural colors (What a surprise!)
Work 'em slow.
Still some pre-spawn females in 5-15 ft. Once those fish start moving again, things should turn back on.

Water Temp: 73-75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Depends on where you were at with the water clarity, but most places were 4"+ vis. Got on the water at about 8:15, went through the middle fork and started fishin. Two fish there on D-Head. After a few hours and nothing else, figured time to move. Went into the S.Fork and fished around, and boated one crankin. Then my partner Rich put a nice one in the boat on a jig. Lo'and behold the wind came up, and blew us all over the place. Figured we'd attempt to get out of the wind and wen further into the S.Fork and Rich boated another nice one on the jig, and...that was it, the wind just took os over, and that was the day. Off the water @ 2:45~. Until the wind came up, it was beautiful out there, even with the wind it still was, who am I kidding. Just not the greatest for fishing today.
City: Plumas LakeTips: Be patient, and work your bait's slow. Pay attention to the line. All the fish we caught were gorged with pond smelt, it's no wonder they were barely interested in what we were throwing.

Water Temp: 65-71
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Wed. I took out a couple of fun guys and very good fishermen. I was incouraged at the begining of the day when we saw some action on top, but there were no top water takers. The low pressure system that had moved in was in force and the bass were spread out and not very interested in feeding during the day. We tried a variety of lures which produced either no strikes or short strikes. The only things that produced for the guys were tubes, senko's and robo worms.
City: ParadiseTips: I think the full moon and the low pressure system and the lake droping 5 feet spread the bass out. When the pressure is stable the bite will be back on. The good news is most of the wood is now on the banks.

Water Temp: 71-73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started off throwing lipless hung a nice over fish on about third cast threw it about a half hour longer for nothing. Picked up the staysee 90 hung one fish that unbuttoned early felt like a nice fish. Back seat was throwing top water not even a swirl. We both switched plastics and caught 10 or so 14"ish fish.(dart head) Finished the day throwing wake baits and couldn't keep them off. Ended around 20. Not near as good as I thought it would be. But I suck at finesse fishing, my line for the day was, "I should of set the hook that was a fish". Wife caught a nice Lg Mouth on wake bait. Not the best day fishing but better then a kick in the seat. oh ya also through a spinnebait got a few bumps but nothing would commit.
City: Yuba CityTips: pumpkin colored worms and set the steel when ever you feel anything, they were barely grabbing the baits.

Water Temp: 69-73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I took out a very good fisherman Friday thinking it was winter instead of summer. What a storm this last week. The water temp droped a degree and really spread the bass out. We did find small bass up close on rocky walls and some shallows. The top water bite was off but we had a few blow-ups. I watched a nice bass come off a shallow rocky point and follow the spinner bait right up to it and bump it ,but did not eat it. I was sure my client was going to get bit, but that was the kind of day it was. We did get bit on tubes and senko's. We had lots of bracket bass with only one over.
City: ParadiseTips: I could list every thing we used that got bumped or bit, but the only thing that caught bass Friday for us were tubes and senko's

Water Temp: 70-74
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: tI took out a couple of great guys Wed. on vacation and wanting to have some fun catching some bass. The top water bite was falling off a bit , but still had some action in which they really enjoyed the action. The bite is still on with tubes, flukes, worms and senko's. In a half day trip they had about 25 with 3 over. The low pressure that had come in had spread out the bass a little.

Water Temp: 65-78
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took a great guy out to the After Bay today. The bite was a bit slow but he managed to boat 13 largies the biggest at about 4lbs. The best pattern was throwing senko's on the reeds.
City: ParadiseTips: Natural shad and baby bass senko's were the best colors.

Water Temp: 65-73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I took out a great guy out Wed. who wanted to learn bass fishing. He is a fly fisherman and really had a great time leanring new methods of fishing. The top water action was still on in the morning and the bite was very good. After the Sun was on the water the bite changed to tubes and senko's. With 30 bass on his first time out with around 6 over, he was pretty excited.
City: ParadiseTips: Vixons or spooks for top water and tubes and senko's worked best on walls from 5-30 ft.

Water Temp: 66=73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Sunday took a great guy out from Arizona. Thought are lake here was pretty nice. I had him start with a top water vixon and the action did not stop for 2 1/2 hours. Best morning bite I've seen so far this year. The rest of his half day tubes, were the bait of choice. Steep walls were the best target for top water and also the tubes. 35+ with 5 over was a great morning considering this busy traffic weekend.

Report: Saturday, took a couple a great guys out to learn a little about fishing and the lake. Again we started with some top water. One of them did pretty well with walking the dog with a vixon, as his presentation was very good. After a bit we went to dart head worms, tubes and senko's. The guys did pretty good learning the new methods and ended up with around 30+ and 4 over for a half day.
City: ParadiseTips: Best method for the morning for the guys was the tube.

Report: I took a couple of great fisherman out Thursday as they were working there way up to Eagle Lake for the opening day this Sat. I picked them up at the hotel and we were in the water by 6am and started to to top water fish right away. Action was mixed but good to see it back like it was the end of April. We fished the West Branch, Main Body, and North Fork. They each had 40-50 bass with 8 over. Needless to say, they had a great day.
