Water Temp: N/A
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Me and my buddy mike started the morning off in the main body throwing ripbaits. We hooked up with eight keepers within 15 min. As soon as the sun came up the bite stopped. With the wind blowing we decided to go back in the west branch and look for mud lines. We fished from about 9am to 2pm with no bites. Around 2pm the fish moved up and started feeding. At one point we caught 20+ fish on a solid mudline with a dropshot and a shakyhead. We ended the day with around 40 fish and a 13 pound bag... Real happy with that!!

Water Temp: 53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Buckner and I got out early and started tossing ripbaits along points and walls. We noticed a lot of surface activity and the fish inhaled our rapala and lucky craft rips in silver/char. and silver/red. One fish was just tearing me up--felt like the one--but she was hooked in the back and hard to turn. I followed that bite with my first senko fish of the year. Tossed an orange pumpkin into a slot along the wall that just begged for it "wacky style". We moved to the main and fished the slot with dartheads to finish the day at noon with over a dozen spots.
City: ParadiseTips: The ripbait bite made our day, but we never hooked another fish on them after the early am. Just like prior trips, we would fish 200 feet with no action, then find two or three biters in one spot. Very little pressure on the lake for a nice Sunday morning.

Water Temp: 53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Al and I fished tube jigs and dartheads in the main body Sunday. Even with a late 10am start and tournament traffic we managed some nice quality spots to 2.5 lbs. We got bit on many colors including shad, green, purple and brown roboworms in 4.5 and 6 inch sizes. Almost all our fish hit from 10-18 feet deep on the bottom. Spoke with some real nice tourney fishermen who were also having a good day with similar offerings. On the way back in, we were checked by F & G wardens in an unmarked blue aluminum jet boat!
City: ParadiseTips: We spent over an hour on one side of the main for zero fish, then cruised directly across to the other side to find our biters. Very light bites! If you feel anything unusual or lose contact with the bottom, set the hook.

Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished out of Lime Saddle early Sunday and worked towards main body. Ramp is good w 2 lanes open. Two friends and myself tossed ripbaits and plastics in fairly clear and chilly 48 degree water with no action. The wind chased us out to the main body where we hooked a coho and then a nice spot about 3 lbs on a dark colored tube jig. Saw a lot of boats working the North Branch, but no fish. Early afternoon temps hit 53 in south facing banks with mudlines and that is where we found biters. We tossed dark roboworms rigged on light dartheads in shallow to 15' for the best bite of the day.
City: ParadiseTips: Sleep in! fish after noon with warming water. The best bite for us came off a muddy point with heavy boat traffic.

Water Temp: Don't know
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out the last two Sundays. Bass fishing is almost pointless, with all the pros fishing the lake. Salmon fishing is still going strong and 3 of us caught 19 on Sunday and 11 the week before. All about 13 inches. P.S. This site is for posting fishing reports and fishing tips. Not for asking lame questions and talking smack. Also Lake Oroville doesn't have Kokanee. You probably caught some Coho. Coho are silver and Kokanee are red with big teeth.
City: ChicoTips: Fast troll 80 feet back on top water close to shore. Earth colors seem to working best but silver with a black back works well too. Drift fishing night crawlers never fails. For bass fishing, find muddy banks and try using brown with purple flake. In clear water, try a smoke color shad on a drop shot.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out Sunday with a buddy and only had 2 bass all day until about 4pm. That is when the boat traffic died down a bit and we could venture to a point or 2. (we were in a small jon boat with only a trolling motor)We hooked into a nice school of spots on a secondary point the wind was blowing into. We caught 9 spots on that one point with the biggest going 2.8 and out of the 9, 5 of them were 2 pounds or better. We had back to back to back casts that produced 3 spots 2lb+
City: ParadiseTips: We had our early bass on a spinnerbait and a crankbait. But all those spots on the point came off a 6" worms texas rigged in about 15 feet of water. The funny thing....we watched 3 or 4 tourney boats stop at this point and catch nothing. But I'm sure they were already weighing in by the time the point loaded up. We located a huge spot all the way back into a creek in about 5 feet of water but she laughed at everything we offered. I guessing she was about 5 pounds or more.

City: red bluffTips: your guide fishes to make sure there are fish for you to try and catch. he does not want to fish you in a spot where there are not enough fish for you to catch, thats why he's called a guide. he guides his clients to fish and when he catches fish it shows you the fish are there and catchable the rest is up to you. most of your better guides do not fish once they put you on fish, they just baby sit the client.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Just a couple of questions. Should guides fish while ther're taking you out? I don't think they should!!! After all you're paying these guys your hard earned money so you can be taught how to fish and what to use at certain spots. He may be catching your fish!!! You should be the only one fishing!! Isn't it why thery're called "guides"...
City: sacramentoTips: Anyone who's ever thinking about going on a guided trip should first find out if he's going to fish. You should ask the guide if he is going to fish. These guys already charge you way too much!!!!!!!!

Report: Ramp Update: Visted the Oroville ramps this afternoon. Spillway ramp is closed. Looks like the single lane ramp used to the left of the secondary spillway ramp needs about 12'-16' to be usable. The "new" Bidwell ramp is open. 2 lanes, very restricted dock space.
City: OrovilleTips: Keep the Department of Water Resources (DWR)honest. NO/MINIMUM OUTFLOW DURING RUN UP TO SPRING!!!!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Lake is up about 20'. Has anyone been around the Lime Saddle Ramp to see how much more water we need to put that ramp to use? Would be nice to launch from this end instead of Bidwell. And for any of you guys that might have purchased my baits in the past, I sold that business to a guy in Elk Grove and its now called Trophy Baits and will officially go live on Feb 1. He still has all the spot spanker, pink prism recipes and will be adding new stuff. And thanks for your past support.
