Report: A little late reporting but the last post just wanted something.Well got there at daylight not much wind, yet.Well started out with top water fished about an hour nothing.Switched to jerkbait and picked up 3 all 24" about four pound's.Then the fog came in on top of the pass about 9:00 am and if anyone know's this lake it also bring's in the 40 mph wind's well it did.

Had to switch tactic's and started throwing Rat-L-Trap and picked up four more all the same 24" fish.Well i couldnt stand the wind anymore so i was off the water by 11:00am.Thought i would run over to LBC where i have been hammering the Bass but it was just to windy.
    City: Salinas

Tips: This was my first trip over there this year i usually wait until the middle or end of April but i am going again this Saturday calling for clear sky's in Salinas so the wind will not be a factor.

Jerkbait's and Trap's and Fluke's on point's now later on when the lake start's dropping fish the large flat's with same lure's good luck.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Headed up to the Forebay by myself new years morning. Arrived late, on the water and fishing about 8am. Threw my lucky rattle trap and picked up two largemouth about 2 and 3 pounds in the weeds. Had one nice follower. I was ready to give up when I decided to give the rock wall one last try. Managed to finally land a striper around 24" using a wild eyed swim shad. Things seem to be slowing down at the forebay. Not a lot of water moving.
    City: Clovis

Tips: I usually like the forebay, but I'm going to give the big lake a shot next time.

Report: Arrived about 8:00am was nice a sunny all the way there until the top of Pacheco pass and ran into a wall of Tule fog.Started out around Dinosaur point throwing Rat-l-trap nothing.Could not see more than 50' so i kept the bank within sight. Then i started hearing fish boil out in the middle behind me.Put on a Pop-r and cought about 20 fish all between 3-6 pound's.Of the water by noon enough time to see the Niner's beat Seattle.
    City: Salinas

Tips: Be careful if it's not the wind it's the Tule fog over here.I was just outside the island by Dino point and two guy's came up and asked where's the Basalt ramp, guy's you are on the wrong side of the lake.I sure hope they made it back becouse the fog was real bad whne i left.

Report: Fished the O'neill Forebay just below the San Luis Reservoir. Started out in Check 12 area and caught a 15" striper on my first cast w/ a Rattle Trap. That was is for the day for stripers. Caught 2 more black bass - 1 on a senko, 1 on a buzzbait.
    City: Atwater

Tips: Next time I'll bring some bait. Tried lures all day but I guess it was a bait bite. Oh well, maybe next time.

Report: Started out fishing jerkbait and picked only two fish 22" each.Tried top water but not a swirl.About 10:00 switched to bait fishing.Started out about half way to Portaguez cove in 70' of water. What i do then is just drop straight down and drift until you get a hookup and imidiatlly drop a marker bouy. Then i will use the trolling motor to stay on that spot.I cought about 20 fish, never really count.Largest was 7.5lb.Appear's they are pumping water back into the lake becouse the water was swirling around my marker pretty fast.
    City: Salinas

Tips: I think the reaction bite should get better here in another week or so.But all the fish you want on Anchovie's right now good luck

    Water Temp: 78-81

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the forebay in the evening. Started near the tower islands at about 4:30. Got several small largemouth bass on a sweet beaver. At the last hour and a half before dark, the lake came alive with striper's busting bait everywhere. Fished the flats in 2-4 feet of water and caught at least 20 striper's, (lost count after the first half hour), to 20 inches. All on top water. I was fly fishing with a Guggler and also throwing a small Zara Spook. Was getting fish or at least hit almost every cast for over an hour. Don't get this good that often, and I practically had the lake all to my self. Awesome evening.
    City: Ben Lomond

Tips: Fish the last hour and a half before dark on those evenings when it is flat calm and the top water action can be unbelievable this time of year. Almost any top water popper or plug will work.

    Water Temp: n/a

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Arrived about 45 minute's before daylight and the wind was blowing pretty bad so i waited a bit before launching.Started out with a Zara Spook and cought 9 fish all on point's.If you were not on a point you were not going to get bit.Largest was 8lb's the rest between 4 and 5 and all fish were in great shape. Also who ever own's the ranch that borders this lake is in hunting heaven.I saw 4 different wild boar's a couple were huge. And you could hear the Tule Elk calling also and Coyote's everywhere.
    City: Salinas

Tips: Must be on the water as early as you can becouse the bite wont last long only about an hour or so.Also make sure you are legal, life jacket's extinguisher becouse the Ranger will be waiting on the dock when you get back.He was tickiting two guy's when i got in and believe me this guy is by the book.
