Report: Tubed the arroyo pond today. The water is kinda muddy and cold. Started about 2pm, I got 4 bites and landed 2 in the first hour. I thought today might be a good day. I was WRONG.!!!.After about 3:30pm, the weather start gets colder, and fishing gets "cold" too. NO bites from 3 til 4:30pm. Fish are small only about 1 to 1.5 lb at most.

Tips: Still too cold to fish. Gotta wait alittle bit mroe.

Report: Went out to the main pond today. Fished from 2:00pm to 4:30pm. Spent the first half hour playing with my new curado200DHSV. Anyways, the fish is still kinda slow, I did manage 4 hook ups and 3 fish landed. 2 of my fish are around 2lb, and one just a regular 12inch. Most of the fish still down deep, but the transition of weather might push them to higher water. This is my 1st report for this year. Wish we can get some good reports.

Tips: Fish slow with plastics. Good LUCK FISHING

Report: Just saw something pretty cool, so I thought I would share it with y'all. I have a largemouth bass in my fish tank. When I caught it, it was only about 4 inches long. Now, 3 months later, it is well over 7 inches long. I feed it 3 times a week, on monday, I give it 20 gold fish, thurs, I give it mealworms and crickets, sometimes a few crawlers too!, then on sat I give it 20 more gold fish. This bass is so aggresive, I can pretty much put anything in there, and its gonna eat it. While I was watching it tonight, I noticed something that might be of interest to y'all. There were three goldfish hiding under a rock that my bass could not get to. So, it blew water out of its mouth to flush them out, and then proceeded to eat 2 of the 3. I never knew bass did something like this, and it was pretty cool to watch. Anyhow, I thought y'all would find that interesting. Those bass are a lot smarter than we make them out to be. When I come into my room, the bass follows me. When I open the top, it immediately goes to the spot where I always dump the food. Makes you think a little about trout stocking trucks, and the kinda bass that show up for that deal.
    City: Missoula

Tips: In case anyone is upset about me having a bass in my tank, just so ya know, I caught it out of a pond in Missoula MT that is frozen solid. There are ponds throughout MT that are stocked with fingerling bass, but that have a very small chance of making it to larger sizes. The one I have in my tank has tripled in size since I brought him home. I plan on returning it back into the wild when I feel as though it is big enough no to worry about being eaten by another bass or pike...FYI

    Water Temp: Gettin chilly

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the Arroyo pond today from 10-3. Water is cooling down rather quick and has clouded signifigantly. No action what so ever today. Tossed all I had. Worked it slow/worked it fast/twitched it/jerked it/buzzed it/let it rest/played it dead. Had only 3 bites. All came along the bank almost directly across from the float tube enter/exit area.

(Or should I say the spot where all the dogs listen to their owners commands the first time, with no yelling, screaming, shouting or yodeling at them.LOL. And I should not forget the few special folks who love to turn blue in the face from blowing their $@#*#@! whistles so hard and much that I forget about how much I love dogs. And finally, SORRY for this,If by chance the A-Whole who likes to throw things out into the water for FIDO to fetch reads this. YOU BETTER BE DARN SURE TO LOOK BEFORE YOU THROW ANYTHING MY WAY AGAIN. MATTER OF FACT ANYTHING WITHIN 75 YDS=TROUBLE. ITS A MATTER OF RESPECT. No disrespect to the responsible pet owners and k-9s

Report: fished from the bank again, couldn't locate too many fish, only found a couple small keepers near the front of the creek
    City: P-TOWN

Tips: mentos, I've been coming here for years.I rarely fish anything but senko's and yamamoto type baits. I never drop-shot(mostly because I suck at it) and you can't hardly throw lures back there anymore because it's so freakin weedy. I'm not fishing for dinks and I have seen huge bass back there, if you know where to look.

    Water Temp: Unknown

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tubed both the Island Pond and Arroyo.

Fished the Island Pond from about 830 to 1100. Threw top water (popper and Zara Spook) but didn't get anything which was unusual based on previous experience. Switched to a drop shot with 4 inch Robo after about 1.5 hours and hit the shoreline looking for cover (underwater trees, etc.). Caught two dinks. I have no idea where fish are caught in this pond.

Went to Arroyo around noon. Drop shot the weed walls as usual and got a bunch of bites. Caught two but still nothing too big. Buddy of mine caught a nice 3 lber though.

How bASSHOLE cathes the 5+ lbers using senkos is beyond me. I've never had much success throwing senkos in this pond but I might have to try it again.

Report: fished the arroyo from the bank for a change, on sat. I got 10 fish in about 3 hrs, pretty much all dinks. On sun. I got 4 fish all about a pound except for the second cast that I made, almost 4.5 lbs.
    City: p-town

Tips: fished the weed islands with senko's and buzzbait, big fish inhaled a watermelon 5 inch senko

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tubed with 2 friends on Friday from 330 to 630 in Arroyo lake. Caught a total of 9 fish between the 3 of us, but nothing over 2.5 lbs.

Basically went with a drop shot and 4 inch roboworm. About 12 to 18 inches between the worm and weight.

If you want to catch fish, I suggest the drop shot above and fishing the weed walls. Fish all around the Arroyo "cul de sac". I always get good bites there. Most bass will hit the bait as it falls, so be aware.
    City: San Ramon

    Tips: Fish the weed walls.

Report: Fished main lake 7:00AM - 11:00Am 5 largemouth keepers (1 1/2 - 3 1/2lbs}. Used RoboWorm brn/green with super slow stop and go retrieve, all released after weighing. Continued fishing thru afternoon didnt get another bite rest of day..

Guess a early start might be the ticket..

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished Arroyo in a float tube in the afternoon from about 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Basically threw Senkos (watermelon with red/green flake, root beer with red/gold flake, motor oil with big red flake) all afternoon along the weed bed edges and in the shadows under trees looking for underwater structure. Only one solid bite and got hung up.

I read that in the afternoons it is best to dropshot when it is warm, but what are you looking for when you dropshot? Are you looking at water depth (I don't have a fish finder but I'm assuming that is how you judge depth)? Are you fishing points? Finding underwater structure? Whenever I drop shot I feel like I'm fishing blind.

Lastly, what is drop shot set up that you use? How long is the leader between the weight and the bait?

    Any help is appreciated.

Report: Fished the island pond in the morning of 8/19 (6::00 am). My buddy and I had a lot of success throwing top water lures (Pop-R, Hula Popper, and Zara Spook). We caught 3 1 lbs and a 3 lb. Neither of us had much success throwing Senkos, a 6 ft. diving crank, or spinners. Got a bite aroudn the island around 10 am, but nothing very exciting.

Report: Got the water about 9am this morning. Met a guy there he said he caught 3 already. One 5lb and 2 3lb. I used frog today, caught 2 over 18inch, and 2 about 16 inch. Good frog bite today, most of the bigger fish are in somewhere that's really hard to cast to. I also alot small ones on dropshot. The fish is not jumping around today, because there are not dragonflies, and it was kinda windy.
    City: Fremont

Tips: Frogs. I'll be fishing for salmon in feather/american, hope you guys can put more reports so i can get more updates. thanks.

Report: Hey Rexx, I agree with that top water should be early in the morning, and dropshot should be later in the day. I found out in Island pond is different, I have tried top water in the early morning, I didn't have much success. Everytime when the dragon flies are out in the water, the bass are start chasing them, and that's the time i start to catch them on top water. The bass move to shallow to catch dragonflies, so they will pay more attention to what's on the top. I use top water early in the morning everywhere, but i just found shadow is different. Dropshot should work good in the shadowcliff anytime.

    Good luck fishing

Report: Hey Tim, thanks for the report. I tend to agree that Shadow Cliffs seems slow in the afternoon/evening. Maybe morning is best now. I noticed you went drop shot early, then topwater when the sun came up. It seems to have worked. Back in the midwest, where I'm from, people tried to do the opposite. Topwater is best at sunrise and sunset when they feed in the shallows. Hot sun would drive them deep and drop shot would be the best choice. It it different in west coast waters?
