Report: Went out this AM with Big Daddy, in at Jones Valley at 7am, temp was 37, out at 410pm, temp at 61, water down to 63.40 witha n/w wind 10-20 mph, went over by clickapudi or a quick one in the irst ive minutes, big daddy caught ive I was blanked, he only had one dink, ran up to the top o Squaw Creek where he dropshotted his irst ever drop shot ish, back down the Squaw near Baxter cove or another then returned to Clickapudi or another one. I got bit three times and missed all three. Get on up here Gary, there is a whole lot o water we have yet to prowl around on! There is a $100 per pound tourney next saturday being put on by the Cottonwood Bass Teams out o Bridge Bay (530)347-5178 and you can sign up as late as 15 minutes till blast o.

Report: put in at Antlers, stopped at Charly Creek, one dink on a jig, ran south to sugarloa point, one dink, same jig, ran through the gooseneck to over near orked horn point and popped one more at 2.3 lbs, samejig, water down to 63.25 and stable, bottom scum starting to appear as the lake inishes turning over, in the water at 41 degrees out a 1pm in a balmy 61 degrees, water lat with calm winds out o the north. Spoke to two other guys, neither had a touch. trout very active on the surace in the gooseneck area. the dinks came out o 22 t o water, the larger one was in 8eet o water.

Report: Went to the upper Sac this aternoon, in at Antlers Public Ramp at 1:15Pm, air temp 54, ran up to a rock wall across rom Antlers Resort, 2 dinks out o 28 t on a jig, ran down to Charley Creek or 5 more o the rock wall to 2.6 lbs, only 2 legal ish, a 1.2 and the 2.6 both on jigs, nothing interested in my drop shot rig, out o the water at 5pm, weather getting cold quick in the aternoon, roze last night or the irst time this all, supposed to get down to 29 tonight, hills surronding Shasta got a bit o snow, lake down to 62.60 and stable water a bit murky in the upper sac which means I will go back up there soon, visibility down to about 4 t

Report: went back over near the Rockpile with my knot tying problems over and put two in the boat in 5 minutes, a 2.7 and a 1.7, both spots were tossing very small shad when boated, the smaller o the two swallowed my dropshotted worm and committed suicide, water clear to 15 t, lake at 62.5 and stable, no wind but a storm is on the way, some surace activity noted, trout and small bass chasing the little 3/4 inch shad, thanks to all you nutcases or resolving my palomar knot problem, I was getting one loop over the other instead o them being side by side on the eye o the hook.

Report: in at Jones Valley at 630 AM, at 47 degrees and out a 11AM, 2 caught, one was a monster 10 incher but the other went 2.8lbs near the rockpile in the pit, talaked two three others, one caught 7 with thre keepers on spoons, the other two said the didn't catch anything, Martens won the Bassmasters again, Japanese gentleman came in 2nd, Townsend rom redding came in third, winning wight was about 32 lbs or three days, lake at 62.12 eet and stable, jones valley resort is closed, went salmon ishing over on the smith river with Mick (1-(800)-248-4704) last thursday with the river way down but still caught 20 ish, mostly bright jacks to 8 lbs and kept a god hen o 15 lbs, all were chrome bright, some had lice still hanging on, ish caught on roe, the bass today were chucking crawdads when I got them in

Report: out this morning with a riend, bluebird day but a bit nippy early on, ish are deeper and things were slow, did a little dropshotting, cranks and jigs or 5 with only two legal ish over near horse creek point in the Squaw, talked to a ew others who were not reporting much luck, some pre-ishing going on or tomorrow's 11th annual Classic or the special olympics kids, very little wind, supposed to start raining tomorrow aternoon and continue through thursday. lake stable at 62.08 t

Report: in the water at 730am and over near the rockpile or 2 quick ish to 2lbs, banged around a ew islands and picked up some more, cloudy and overcast and the rain started getting heavy at 1030, lake down to 62.15 t, no wind, water temp actualy rose a degree and ahal, overnight temps dropping into the mid 40's so it looks like this big lake is starting to turn over, ound ish in 11 to 27 t o water, used blades and jigs.

Report: went up to hirz bay this am and ished the upper McCloud orm ellery creek down to Shallow point, only 7 small ish, wind howling 25-30mph with gusts to 40mph, tough going to say the least, don't think the tournament guys are going to do any better than they did yesteday, some pre-ishing or the bassmasters going on but not a lot o action i the ew I talked to are telling the truth, the wind is kicking some tail this weekend.

Report: Fished the ABA Pro team TOC last weekend. Windy, windy, windy. Had the same old story, killed em preishing and could do anything during the tourny. The best ish in the tourny came out o Sacramento on jerk baits. We caught ish in pit on worms, but no size. Caught a 13 pound limit on thursday beore, but the only problem was we ished Senko's weightless on 6# line. When the wind came up it eliminated that. I you get a calm day try throwing a Senko, ish it very slowly, let it drop on slack line. Watch the line to see i it jumps. See you on the water.

Report: the wind is howling and the ishing is tough. The ABA tourney is on the lake with most o the action in the pit, went out with a riend and roze on the way up the pit, just a ew taps here and there with one small ish cught, went over to the Squaw and managed to scratch a 2 /12 smallmouth and a 2 plus spot, let and went over into the McCloud and got blown o, went back over by Jones Valley and caught 2 more, only 3 legal ish or a 6 1/2 lb sack, the ABA guys are having a tough time, it is supposed to blow even harder Sunday. lake down to 61 and a hal eet. New loat put in at jones valley.

Report: things are slow up here, out mon-tues or 2 ish each day in the pit arm, the bass are ull o shad, no activity either day but the bass were chasing shad all over on wed and today according to a riend who ishes the lake as much as I do, I went up on the upper Klamath below the hatchery at hornbrook with two riends or 40 in the boat, 35 more that got o, we kept a ew hens or roe and I put back a dandy steelhead today, ished with Mick Thomas rom over on the coast and had the best guided trip I have ever had. Soooooooo, here's the plug or Mick 1-800-248-4704 he ishes ,most o the north coast and southern oregon, especially the smith. I will be booking him or steelhead this all. My shoulders are sore but it hurts so good!Unless we have some weather soon things are going to be tough or the bassmasters and other tournaments, i the weather wil cool o quickly then the lake wil start to turn over but with present conditions possibly continuing then its gonna be awhile.

Report: Sacramento arm good or trout early. Boated 3 to 19" trolling while on our way to bass ish. Bass bite spotty and slow, weather is now cooling and it seems ish have went o the bite. We did pick up a couple dinks in appox. 50' o water on jigs.

Report: out o Jones Valley at 130PM and over to Squaw Creek, the bass I ound two days ago in Frenchman Gulch were gone, went to the top o Squaw Creek and nailed 3 to 2lbs, 2 on jigs and one on a small crank bait, all three were spitting small 1 1/2 inch shad, ound big batches o bait all over but nothing much going on, water lat, no wind, was very windy in the early AM, lake dropping slowly about 3 inches a day, water clearing with visibility down to about 15 eet, upper squaw creek very dirty because o little or no low coming in, trout can be caught on top in upper arms, salmon at the dam are holding in 60 to 90 eet o water, the river salmon has slowed a bit, averaging less than a ish per rod, dry ork and the little squaw are the place to go or trolling up trout rom the surace to 35 eet down.

Report: in the water at 7AM, up to the top o Squaw creek where my uncle caught two, on the same cast on a rapala in 11t o water, ran back down near cone point or three more to 2lbs out o 35 t o water, no traic whatsoever, lat water with a slight breeze out o the west, ound a stump just coming up in the pit arm in ront o panther canyon just dead center in the channel and our more coming up just outside Squaw creek point where everyone makes the turn to go up squaw creek rom Jones Valley so watch what your doing, water down to 60 eet, Shasta Recreation put in a new dock at Packers Bay, hopeully they will replace jones valley also. I have had a lot o questions as to the bank markings all over the lake in the orm o an inverted V, they are surveying the lake and these are survey markers, supposed to be in planning stages o raising Shata Dam 6 eet, maybe they should just ill it up or a change instead o spending the 120 mil raising the dam.

Report: Hi this is one o my irst reports here is some ino on me im 14 and hope to be a poresional b.a.s.s. isherman.Im in traning now and studie every night out o the bassmasters catolog.I ish shasta lake allot.Im pritty consistint with my ishing and want to ish a turnimant.Well i went out to packers bay with dad and the ishing was slow i cought about 8 or 9 dinks and dad cought 4 or 5.I was ishing with a white terminater spinerbait and dad was using a power bait worm on the bottom.Well i hope to give reports allmost every week.

Report: over to blue canyon on the pit at 7am or just one dink and a ew taps, air temp 46 degrees, out at 1030 Am went back at 4Pm and ran up to arbuckle creek or a 3lb largemouth o the ppoint on the south side, ran up to lat creek or 5 more rom 1 1/2 to 3lbs between 630 and 730 pm on a crank bait and my usual jigs, water temp back up to 71 by 4pm, lots o house boaters and a ew skiers still around, nights are cooling o nicely, water was clearing up but the weekend traic has let some thin mudlines around most points, ished mostly main and secondary lake points, most ish can out o less than 20 t o water, a rocky shoreline produced best i it was on a main lake point.

Report: Picked up my uncle rom Indiana at 130pm and he had me in the water by 4 pm, went up to the upper McCloud out o Hirz Bay, Nosoni creek provided one small dink, moved south to Kamloops, nothing in the rocks so moved over to the shady side on red dirt banks, lots o taps, picked up three more,all legal with one to 2 1/2 lbs, on jigs, ish in 12-15 teet o water on main lake points, weather has cooled orm 103 on wednesday to 75-80 degrees now, very pleasant out, got out at 7pm, will be back at it in the morning.

Report: looking basck at my last post and did some back tracking, I have had 284 trips on the lake since moving here on 12-31-98, on ive trips I didn't catch anything so I guess I can't comlain too much. Went out o Jones Valley at 8 pm over to squaw point, a dink on the irst cast, now i'm eeling better, poked around a bit and moved to Clickapudi and picked up 6 more, two were nice, water temp back up a ew degrees, lake down to 58 1/3 t, Clickapudi cove is really down now, at 11:30 pm the north wind started to howl so I moved over to a north bank near brushy canyon and picked up two more to 2 1/2 lbs, all on jigs. The wind really started moving at midnight so got o the water. Most ish taken in 15 t or less but did stick one at closer to 30 t beore the wind started blowing. in the water at 103 degrees, out at 87 degrees, things should cool o by Saturday, was 106 today.

Report: went out early(6 AM) out o Packers Bay to Bontabile Bay, Terry Cove and over to Deadman's Gulch, out o the water at 930AM, not a single tap on blades, cranks or jigs. The ull moon has once again bit me in the butt. Lake stable at 57 1/2 down, water clearing up nicely, visiblity improved down to 12 t, got some hot weather coming. I am not going back out until at least tuesday, yeah right!

Report: nearly ull moon and I know I should have stayed home but I just had to go, only 2 dinks rom 8PM to 1AM, air temp 81 going in 67 coming out, the lake is cooling down gradually spoke to two other guys just getting out as I was getting in the water at Jones Valley, they didn't catch anything, a tournament on Sunday was won with just undr 9 lbs, the water is dropping very slowly, now at 57.25 t down, the salmon in the river down below Woodson Bridge are turning on with about a ish and a hal per rod but the size is reported to be bigger this year, The diversion dam count at Red Blu jumped up big time last week with about 1,200 ish per day being counted, up rom as little as 150 per day, guess I will do some yard work until the moon shrinks down a bit. Everything suspended last night in 8-12 eet o water, sur wish I knew how to get them biting when they suspend!
