    Water Temp: 70 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Topwater ishing or smallmouth and largemouth was great in the early morning beore the sun came up and the watercrat really hit the lake. I hit 4 smallmouth about 2 lbs. on Heddon Stickbait and a injured Minnow in about 15 eet o water rom the Whiskey Creek bridge east to the blanket. There is a lot o salad in the water down only a oot below the surace in and around the small coves. Lots o Bluegill in those spots i you need a little un. I hit 2 large bluegill about 3/4 o a lb apiece along with the usual 25 to 30 small ones.Hitting the bass early with topwater worked the best or me, but I did hit a couple o 2 pound bass late in the coves where there aren't any swimmers.Remember to get your day use passes or your annual passes because the Rangers are checking. I don't know what the ine is, but you know the National designation will mean big bucks are due i you're caught.Special Note: The annual pass or Whiskeytown Lake is good as the same pass to get into Lassen Park.
    City: Redding

Tips: topwater lures and spoons ished near the top early in the morning...like beore the sun comes up... are the best or Large and Smallmouth bass.

    Water Temp: low 60's?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Saw 2 ish at the irst shore spot I walked up to. They both started twitching and seemed pretty interested in the 5" red lizard I tossed. I switched to a smoke w/black and blue lake grub and tossed it out. The bigger o the 2 ish grabbed it and 10 seconds later it was all over. Until last week I'd never caught a 5 pound plus bass- now I've got 2 in one week! Last weeks ish was a 5 pound-5 ouncer rom Lake Berryessa and todays ish was 5 pounds-1 ounce. Also tried out a new 1/8 ounce chartruese buzzbait. They're right about the big bait- big ish thing I guess i the 9" baby bass I caught is any indication. Also tried a homemade Rainbow trout lure about 7" long- it's sot plastic and should catch a ew nice bass beore the year is over. I had a big bass swirl on a Big Bug in metallic rainbow pattern on the previous trip to Spring Lake.
    City: Napa

Tips: I'm not sure i it's the ishing pressure or what but this lake can be tough to ish rom the shore. Tried the tules at the north end in one o the paddleboats one time and caught a 13" bass (apparently dea!) on a junebug lizard. I really should go get a loat tube i I want to ish it right. Fish hard and have un!

I hit them on the surace, but you have to ish the lure slowly.I picked up several hits on a Texas rigged 4" OxBlood/Blue Magic Worm ished at 20 eet. The weather is warming up right now and the ishing is getting better each week.Good

Report: Went on a camping trip with some friends and we fished just a little during the day. Fishing was not great, but I did catch one nice smallie dropshotting a 4" Keeper worm in oxblood in maybe 10 ft of water. I was using 8-pound test but I'll bet 6 lb line would have helped a good bit. This water is really clear and casting away from the boat is a must.
    City: Sacramento

Tips: Light line, don't get right over the fish.
