Report: I WAS READING THE FORUM AND JERRYS WARNING ABOUT FLAT TIRES AT JONES VALLEY BOAT RAMP. I WAS OUT THERE THANKSGIVING AND CAME HOME AND THE NEXT DAY HAD A FLAT ON MY PICKUP AND ONE ON THE BOAT TRAILER, BOTH HAD ROOFING TACKS IN THE TIRES. I DIDNT THINK THEY WERE COMING FROM THE BOAT RAMP,BUT I GUESS THEY ARE.ITS DIRTY SHAME THAT PEOPLE DONT HAVE ANY THING ELSE TO DO BUT CAUSE DAMAGE TO PEOPLES RIGS. IF ANY ONE CATCHES THE IDOT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO IT IS, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A LITTLE TALK WITH WHO EVER IT IS

Report: The ishing is slow rom shore but good o the dam.Platorm boats are the key to succsess. The bass are anywhere rom 10 to 40 eet.
      City: salinas

Tips: Drop shot is working the best. Spinnerbaits are very productive in the shallows. Deep runing crainkbaits work well to along with carolina rigs.

Report: Thanks or the good report on the TROUT ishing :) Plan on going to do some TROUT ishing then maybe a little BASS ishing ater, Dun know i I can handle the ego's though.. Honestly Justin, i you don't come here to see how the FISHING is in a said lake, then skip over the post, Maybe some decent inormation about what is going on in the lake will help you to win that next BASS tourney pr$c$! I have been to Amador 4 times in the last 2 months, bass ishing has been less than good, trout ishing has been super, we have had great luck with shad raps.

Report: My buddy John and I launched out o Paradise around 7am and went right to an area in 14 mile Slough that we have been hoping would get hot. We threw or an hour or so on this wall and only got one hit. We then headed back to the "sunken car" area and threw everything at em' or another hour and a hal or so and only got one two pound keeper on a lipless. Around 10 am I told John that maybe we should head up near Whites and se i we could get on some striper, so we strapped down and headed out. We rolled into our hole around 10:20 and didn't get anything or a hal hour or so, and then booya!, John hits 3 nice blacks up to 3 pounds in a matter o 5 minutes. You just gotta love that delta window. Well, as quick as the window opened it shut back down. We didn't get another ish until 1:15, when John hit a beautiul 15 pound striper on a rip bait. We ished anoth 20 minutes or so and then headed home.
      City: roseville

Tips: This was the toughest day we have had on the delta in a long time. I igured it would be tough because o the nasty cold storm we had a ew days earlier and now we had blue skies and a bone chilling north wind blowing. I guess anyone that knows ishing knows that this is about the toughest condition you can ish in, but when you have the ever, you just have to go. It has been a lot colder this winter than it was last year. Also, we have had inconsistent weather or quite some time. I think i we can string 4 or 5 days together o calm weather the bite will kick in.

Report: The biguns are coming out to play and what a perect day we had on Thursday. Fishing was awesome with all but a couple o them over the slot. It did slow down around noon but the jig and Senko worked their magic all day. Water is rising and has some color to it and most o the day the lake was as smooth as glass enabling us to work Senkos around submerged shrub and trees. We worked the main body and concentrated on deeper rock walls and any type o cover.
      City: Wheatland

Tips: Rodstrainer jigs in brown/orange color with a Yamamoto twin tail trailer worked very slowly at 15-20 eet. Senkos in watermelon color worked extremely close to any submerged tree.

Report: Ater 400,000 casts I inally landed a trophy spot- 6 pounds 6 ounces!!! She is a beautiul ish, and is back in the lake or someone else to catch.I started out the day going up the Mccloud, and I planned on inishing at an area where I had a monster roll on my spook back in the all. The irst point put 4 in the boat, all 1.75's, nice spots. These were all caught on a brown/green jig. I went around to the next point and as I was letting my jig sit there- tick- so I set the hook and its a 2.5!! I started weighing the ish because I dont want to weigh em all the time and I am trying to get better at estimating their weight. These ish are atter than usual!!I kept up with the same pattern and put a ew more 2.2's in the boat. Then I switched over to the lizard, ishing it very slowly, and I managed another 2.5. In the last 3 trips I hadn't been able to get a spinnerbait ish, and with the rain really coming down I igured I would throw it until I caught one, since the rain outta bring some ish up.Well, I did this or about an hour with no takers. Finally I get to my big ish spot, and a 2.2 smallie just nails it and what a great ight that was. I move down a little urther and I was right where I had the monster roll on my spook, so I throw up in there, and the bait is hal way back to the boat and I am looking where I might cast next, and then Wham!!! Five minutes later, we are both tired and I had a hard time lipping her because my ingers were so cold!! She was 22.5 inches long and 18" girth, so I get my scale o the deck and.... its water logged %$**^. Its 4:15, and its pouring, and I am the only guy on the lake. I buzzed around to try and ind someone who might have a scale, and inally I ran into a guy who was heading into Packers, and he weighed her up or me.I will try to post the pictures on the orum. I have always heard this is a great time to catch the big spots, and I eel lucky to have gotten one. I just hope the next one happens sooner this time.Tim

Report: Pretty much the same story, 29 degrees in the AM out o BB, and up the Sac I go. The tan colored points leading to a creek channel have been holding some decent ish, and yesterday they were still there.Although I did get some decent numbers again, nothing over 2!! Best 5 were all 1.75 clones. I tried spinnerbaiting, and ripping with no success. Met a good guy while launching(Bob Watson) and he managed a ew this way, but most still on the jig.The lake is looking a lot bigger with the recent rainall- hopeully the next ew storms will get some water moving.tim

Report: Fished or Striped bass all day. Fishing was slow but the ish we caught were quality. We tried trolling with broken back rebels and rattle traps but the only way we caught ish was spooning. We caught 6 stripers we kept the 4 biggest. They went 12, 8, 8 and 7 pounds. Not a bad day ater all.
      City: Hayward

Tips: Use a 1 ounce hopkins spoon. Get in 16 to 20 eet o water and ish right near bridge pilings or the tire brake near Holland. Just keep the spoon within 2 eet o the bottom and hold on. When they hit they hit at ool speed.

      Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: All I got to say is that it take a real man to make a report like this! Many have complimented me or telling it like it is - the good with the bad. I am PROUD to report that in my past two night trips - one last Friday and one about a week ago, we got three bites on each trip. I will have to say that one o them was a huge bass! Please don't ask i we landed any (we didn't). The best excuse I can come up with is that winter hit quick and hard. Very rapid drop in water temp. Yes, I think that will work! People are trying to make me eel better be saying the bite was slow everywhere last weekend. Seriously, I made a comment on my last report about the current state o Clear Lake, and nothing I can see has changed that - in act I am even more convinced that it is in trouble. I was surprised by the number o people who emailed me about that - all agreeing. I have never smelled the skunk in late all or over 10 years at night, and the last two trips stunk! Places all over the lake that hold ish this time o year are either without many bass, or they just have an extended case o lockjaw. Last November (2000) I guided in 25 to 28 degree nights and was getting 15 to 25 hookups. The only thing that is dierent now is that Clear Lake looks like Amador when you turn your meter on - bait ish everywhere and sometimes 15 eet thick - all over the lake. There may be heavy eeding in the daylight hours, making the night slow. Conditions were perect Friday night - but no bass activity anywhere at any time. Stay tuned!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: We are getting our bites on Weapon jigs, and one on a brush hog. I I had a tip, I would give it to you! Somebody mentioned that no one has posted or the last month. Well, don't orget, it has been a bit dangerous out their during these constant storms. And there is probably not much to report - even the minnow ishermen are struggling a bit.
