Report: Fished a small turkey shoot on New Years Day. Pre-rontal conditions existed, and the spotted bass were eatting. We ished brown and pumpkin 3/8 ounce jigs on main lake points in 15 to 30 eet o water. Caught 20 ish, the largest 5 going 14 pounds (1st place). Most boats caught limits o spots ishing main lake with jigs and plastics.

We would hear the ish inder goin o in about 20 t or water then WHAM! hooked up with about 5 ish, small mouth, the biggest about 4 pounds. Tried also the next day, this time trolled the dam about 35 eet down with blades and lashers with a wedding ring/worm trailer,....ew bites but nothing promising. Went back to a "hole" we ound loaded with ish and had a ield day...can;t wait to go back.....Hey Regis! I still got your EJ on the Slayer...see you Stu-Gatz later....Fish Slayer

Report: Thanks or the re-set No Handle Man, (I'm Zipperworm, not Zipperman). Ask Blademan how I earned that handle. Andy (report below) did better than Swimbait and I. I told Swimbait about the day me and No Handle had on Christmas eve. It convinced him to get o the couch. We launched out o Browns and picked one each around the entrance to the south. Spots- his was a 2.75lb atty. Rolled up on my Newbass parner rom last season out on the mainlake. We exchanged greetings: "Get o my water!" ect. He said he only had a couple bites, but I think he holds out on me. Partner warned Swimbait that anything he did could be and would be used against him on the internet (this page). Swimbait's never had issue when I report him backseating me on my water again and again. When I ish with him I have an eyesight problem. I cringe evertime he casts. It's normally way up in ront o me and I know he's about to nail another one. Today was a little dierent: We blanked on the main lake, but Swimbait splitshot another 2.75lb spot in a eatureless area while I was exploring some new water accross rom Brown's. We were stopped and practically deadsticking.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: When the bite get's tough, slow down the presentation.

Water Temp: LOW TO MID 50's

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Was hoping to still get in ishing beore cold ront hit but cold ront was pretty much in ull orce on this saturday.Very little ishing pressure about 30 boats and even less on shore.Pretty much ished swim baits all day casting and slow trolling with only one hit on the tail end o the eagle swim bait (these swim baits look damn good in the water and i have no ties to this company).Talked to quite a ew boats on the water and very slow and tough day but heard the day beore was a very exceptional day with quite a ew lunkers and the lake record which i could not conirm was true.It seemed like 80% OF boats were throwing swim baits on this day.
      City: ONTARIO CA.

Tips: Try a little something obeat like trolling swimbeats with leadcore or a downrigger in 25 to 40 eet o water across points and around island and east end o lake.Or ish Murphy style and double anchor and ish dads or worms or jigs very slow o o points or on the rockpiles.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had to be one the best trout ishing trips in a long time. Three o us in the boat and on the water about 7AM. Slight og and clearing later in the morning, then rain, just pulled the boat out beore it hit. Lucky. Started with inlated nightcrawlers and we hooked into three or our right o the bat. Then we started using power bait (chartruese, yellow, and rainbow) all worked well. From 7am to around 11:30am we had a total o about 34 rainbows with about 25 missed. Ended up keeking 10 between us. We were just driting on the bottom. Remember it is a ive ish limit. I you release them make sure they are good to go back and swim away.Good luck

Decided to troll or steelhead, hooked one bucketmouth at 14 eet and one 2lb smallie at about the same dept. We were trolling needleish. We did not see any ish busting shad until we took the boat out at the public ramp to go home! Figures!

      Water Temp: 46

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: This report will certainly be better than the last one, especially i I had not lost a huge bass yesterday 'cause I didn't check the tip o my jig hook ater snagging on a rock. It was good to be back at Clear Lake ater three weeks amd more postponed trips because o the weather and lousy ishing than I can remember. I had a really nice client and a skillul isheerman, but green in the sport o winter bass ishing. We used jig 90% o the time, trying or big bites. He missed a bass near Rattlesnake Island and later had a good bass pick up his jig without him knowing it and swim towards him. He inally set the hook but it was too late. I think I igured out a good pattern when I stuck a big ish around 8:30 AM. She was ar o the edge o a rockpile - a good winter pattern. She was beautiul and ull o ight, and really nailed my Rodstrainer jig. She weighed in at 8 lbs 2 oz. Daytime Rules! We ished several other areas south o the narrows without a bite. Finally, in the cove near Sea Breeze, a 4-13 took my Weapon jig with #180 Yamamoto single tail grub. The next bass I owe to my client! I was teaching him about bass stu all day and was explaining something to him while I kept working my jig urther and urther out into deep water - not paying much attention to it. When it went THUNK - I payed attention! That one was 7 lbs 1 oz! So, 6 bites - 3 in the boat or around 20 lbs, and one lost monster! I was really pleased to see how excited my client was to see his irst really big bass - I wish he had caught one, but he sat how it was done and his day will come!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Just ished jig very slowly in rocky dropos.
