Report: hehe, hey Sturgeon Kid, I'm positive about it being a striper. It was lat in shape and had a small blue lap on its gill......JUST KIDDING! It was deinitely a striped bass and yes, we used to catch them in the lake all the time when I was a kid. In regards to stripers breeding in the resevoir, I'm not really sure either. What I do know is when they drop the lake level during the winter time and bring it back up or summer some small stripers get in that way. I think. Does anyone know why they blocked o the aerators? I can still cast to it rom the boat but man is it a hassle picking up the rope when a ish runs under it. Talk to you guys soon and keep the posts coming.

Report: I agree with you Lone Angler. It is lame. No more reports rom me or any lake I go to. It's too bad too. I thought this was or helping ellow ishermen. I guess not. The excuse is there's tournaments coming up. What a bunch o crap. I ish tournaments and still write up reports. I'm by no means an expert at all, but I do eel obligated to write something about my day at the lake whether its good or bad. You don't have to say the exact area or exact bait, but just a general idea o whats going on. Water clarity? Water temp. Slow bite, good bite. Best ive ish weight? The bottom line is there's people out there that take it too seriously, and get a little anal when it comes to reports. In the long run this will hurt ishing and the ishing business. I'm here to help people learn while I'm learning also. God orbid i we ind out the so called secret bait or bite. I don't believe in that. You still have to put the ish in the boat yoursel. We're ishing against the ish. But some people are ishing against each other. That's the cold hard act. That's why there's a lack o reports. Thank god COOCH and LARRY HEMPHILL are helping us out. I ind it very interesting that we don't see other top notch ishermen like COOCH and LARRY putting a report in the NCBF ishing reports. And we all know they read this site. We need a little more input rom you guys and you know who you are. I 'm tired o playing the little secrets game. I don't play that game. I it hurts me in tournaments, so be it. But I doubt it will. It's about conidence, doing your homework, and a little bit o luck. And don't say you don't want to do somebody else's homework. Some people simply cannot get to the lake to preish because o work or other reasons. I'm willing to help them. I want them to get as much out o it as I do. We need to keep it un or everybody or you're gonna lose them. I they have a good day o ishing because o my input, then that's gonna make me eel good. Sorry or rambling, but its how I eel about this great sport o bass ishing. We're lacking reports. So lets get it going. Just my 02cents. Patrick

      Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: My riend Mario took me out or a day on his new G3. Something about my buddies with sweet deep hull alloy rigs and 4 strokes. I asked him i the ire he experienced under the back deck o my boat last year encouraged him to quickly become a boater again. I had to remind him we still got a check that day. He said don't go there. 8 ish to 2.5lbs and a couple bonus rainbows. My highlight was nailing a good spot on a blade while some partying couples made a close pass trolling. They were not impressed. They were dragging a stringer with a couple big bass in addition to thier trout. Mario got a rip ish on the main lake and we wormed the others in the north. Another buddy Lee was hangin with us and he provided detailed specs on some o the new electonics coming out. I'm all: errrr, how deep's the water dude? He was talking about a piece o structure that's now nearly submerged and I said nah, that spot get's pounded- I pass it by. He rolls up and gets 3. I thanked Mario or a great day and returned home in time to watch the Giants come rom ahead to choke against the Niners.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: I didn't bother to plot the coodinates o some o the prime rock piles and wish I had. The lake has risen over 15t since the storms in December. A key rock that's now submerged in murky water takes time to ind with electronics only.

Report: Way to go Pondslayer, (report below) you are not eavesdropping on the site i you step up and report. I wasn't going to report this day, but I was busted at the ramp by Blademan and two o my club's oicers. We're all catching some ish, but boating has become hazardous. Floating debris and unmarked submerged obstructions sometimes pretty ar o-shore. Lake is rising so rapidly it's hard to expect the Sta at Folsom Lake to be able to keep up with marker bouys. It's at 402 eet today.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: Run-o water is cold and murkey- make adjustments

Report: always put the plug BACK IN. in the water at centimundi at 830am with the wie along, she doesn't allow me out alone these days, airtemp at 48, wind out o the north at 8 with a 2 t chop running down the lake, ran over into the dry ork inlet and up to where the water is pouring in in the Little Squaw, get with it and notice the boat is acting unnny, that's when I remembered I had the drain plug out and orgot to put it back in, get a ew pulldowns on my mgm156 but nothing in the boat, run the bilge pump and pump all the water out while she ties on a big daddy specail(rainbow 99) and up comes a dink or her out o 12 t, lots o junk loating around with some good sized pieces o lumber on top and slightly submerged, ish or a little more and head back in, get the boat out and drag it up the ramp with all this water pouring out o it, DUH, talk about eeling stupid. She is riding me hard about the only ish in the boat and calls big daddy at work to let him know she whipped me, and here I was wondering why the trolling motor seems unable to move the boat around as it has in the past, high thin overcast but the sun made it through, now i Shasta Recreation can get on the stick and get these loats back in at Bailey cove and Hirz Bay and Antlers things wil be back to normal, the lake is on the rise with the 7 inches o rain we had during the last week, now up to 50 t down rom the top.
      City: Redding

Tips: water has cooled considerably, a slow presentation is needed to get bit, more rain on the way. the Rainbow 99 was good today or the little time we spent out there.

Worked a cove with some willow trees in 5' to 10' o water. Texas rigged a 109 MGM or 2 more...a 15" and an 18". The 18" was 4 ingers o the board. No weight as the battery was dead or the scales.Up the Pit past the No Ski buoy and ran into a wall o muddy water. Turned around and stopped at Arbuckle Flat and graphed some ished. Dropped the 156 on them and 4 casts or 4 ish......but all only 12.5". Back down the Pit towards the bridge and hit another cove. Drop shotting the 156 in 20' o water got me a bunch more. 24 ish total. All out o less than 25' o water. Best 5 probably about 8#. Out at 1530. Air temp up to 56 but the clouds came in. Water Temp: below 50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out Dec. 30. Had ound great area south in previous trips, and decided to go back and check it out. Water very muddy and cold, tide was not right, and only one good hit on blades. Only ished the area or an hour. Several other boats came in, so I let the area, looking or new water. Ran to Mildred, tried new area in there, lost a runner on a rodstrainer brown/chartreuse jig with a watermelon/red lake Yamamoto single tail trailer-came o wood, and ran so ast I could not catch up to it. No other hits, so ran to Whites, having never been in the ar back o that area. Looked beautiul, good clarity, wood, depth and weeds, but saw no bait in the area I was in. Ripped, jigged or no hits, then lost one on blade slow rolled along weed wall. So or the day, 3 hits, no ish. Just did not eel like beating up the water that I had pulled so many ish rom south, and did not mind exploring new areas or a change.
      City: hal moon bay

Tips: No brilliant insight here, still trying to ind bigger ish.Good luck, and God Bless,Rob T

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Let out o Ladds on Tuesday or irst time. Club tourney in coupleo weeks and wanted to look or water up there. Well we went romthe end o Whiskey all the way up to Sycamore. We did not manage oneBlack all day but managed a ew nice Stripers. Water was verymuddy everywhere except or Whites Slough. That was the only placewith decent water. We pulled the Stripers out o Whiskey on Cranks.I you catch one with a Team Daiwa and Currado attached would you returnit to me so I could get it to my partner. The ish just decided torun o with it. I I wasn't looking or Blacks we probably couldhave pulled several Stripers rom the same area. Very dissapointedas ar as inding new water or Blacks though. I ound areas thatcould be productive but on this particular day I wasn't ableto pull any. Everyone we talked to said it was tough up north. I wouldbe curious i anyone was out down south to here how they didthe same day.

      Water Temp: 50+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Ater being skunked on Delta, went to cabin at Clear Lake on Dec. 31 - Jan 1st. No boat, did not plan on ishing. Tuesday (Jan 1)there was a airly warm wind rom the southeast with light drizzle, and the night had not been that cold either. Water looked good on the bank by my dock, and based on prior winter adventures here, I was airly sure that some good ish would move up on this warm prerontal system. Slow rolled a spinner bait or 2 hours in shallow water. Caught two, one or 3 and another real at one or 5 lbs or so. Missed 3 more, ish were not pounding the bait, just loading up, and i you did not set the hook quickly, no luck.
      City: hal moon bay

Tips: This time o year can be tough on Clear lake, but otentimes when a warm prerontal system moves in, it seems to push good ish up shallow where they will eed. Not too surprising an observation, but makes or un. In years past this type o scenario has resulted in some real nice ish in shallow water or me.Good Luck, and God Bless,Rob T.
