MOST EVRY FISH WAS IN WATER FROM THE BANK TO ABOUT 25 TO 30 FEET THERE WAS A BASS BOAT SPOONING AT THE BRIDGE PIERS AND I WOULD THINK THAT WOULD BE GOOD FOR SUSPENDED FISH THIS TIME OF YEAR. NOT MUCH STUFF FLOATING ON THE SURFACE ON THE LAKE WHERE WE WERE , WHICH SUPRISED ME WITH ALL THE RAIN WE HAVE HAD, WE FISHED POINTS, CREEK CHANNELS , AND ROCK BANKS WE CAUGHT FISH ON ALL OF THESE PLACES AND ALSO CAUGHT SOME IN A BRUSH PILE THAT HASENT BEEN UNDER THE WATER TO LONG. FISHING IS GOOD NOW AND ITS GOING TO BE EVEN BETTER IN THE DAYS TO COME. I DID GET BIG FISH TODAY BUT MY WIFE WAS REAL CLOSE, ITS ABOUT TIME I GOT HER HA HA

Report: Fished the WB team. Foggy/overcastday. Probably caught 30 ish between the 2 o us.Best 7 went 11.16. 14.9 won. Jigs, spider grubs and 6 inch worms were the ticket. Never got a ish/bite on a reaction bait. Lake got hammered this weekend.Saturday tourneys and preishers probably totaled 150-175 boats. Lake has come up about 30t since BASS. Funny thing craw dad baits work but the ish are gorging on shad. No crawdad parts in the live well.
      City: Castro Valley

Tips: Fish are all over. Key is to ind a school o larger ish and wait them out.Bite can be very subtle.

Report: Club tourney out o Packers. 20 boats, 8 non-boaters. I headed inside Bridge Bay or 4 quick ish in an hour. 1 on a pointer minnow, 3 drop shotting a 6" MGM 157. Headed over to Little Backbone and ought the 2-3 waves at the mouth o the Sac. Heavy north wind blowing. Inside Little Backbone and drop shotted the same worm on rocky walls or several ish. Biggest was 2.52# (my big or the day). One other culled out a 13" rom Bridge Bay. From there up to the Squaw to some willow trees I'd done well at the week beore. Texas rigged a MGM 109 in the willows in 18'. Really had to coax this one. Finally got it to bite and it went 2+# that culls another out.Up the Pit to a long tapering point and cranked a 3/4 oz Fat Free shad or another 2+#. Cull again at couldn't improve the rest o the day. Still caught lots more ish but all under my smallest at 14.5". Weighed in 9.49# or second place. Winning weight at 9.9 or so. Biggest ish was 2.8#. Water temp was around 51 degrees most everywhere I went. Wind blew all day. Watch the debris.
      City: Redding

Tips: Don't be araid to throw that drop shot up into 6" o water and drag it down. It works when the ish are shallow.

Report: Fished a club tournament (Santa Clara Bass Busters)on Saturday. Foggy, cold, slow. Water clarity was much poorer than was expecting. Fished main channel. Mostly threw delta crawish red speed traps and rattle traps. Didn't get a single hit. Tried throwing small plastic worms split shotting in various colors. No luck! Eventually got 3 ish on 1/2 white and 1/2 green senko's. Largest was 2.62lbs caught on the outside edge o the weed line at low tide just as it started back in. Other two were up against the bank in 1 to 2 oot o water under a bush over hang. Both were maybe 1.5lb'ers. Top team had 5 ish or over 11 lbs. Second best had 4 ish or ???? (didn't get) and my teams 3 were good enough or 3rd out o ten boats (twenty anglers). Hey, you guys out there interested in a great club and a lot o un ishing tournaments should check us out!

Tips: trick seemed to be to watch the line or the pickup (line would lick) and then raise the rod tip slowly to check or the ish. Pickup was very subtle.
