Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Although I'm rom Norcal I visited Corona Lake in Socal. I was a irst time visitor and I was impressed with this lakes looks. Looks are deceiving as I ound out. Small lake but lots o tree branches sticking out o the water. Ideal atmosphere or bass, but no luck. I ished 6" worms, spinners, and everything else I could ind;nothing. One interesting thing to keep in mind when ishing this place, keep ear-plugs with you because suddenly some guy in a boat goes around either shooting a gun or throwing ire crackers. I wasn't positive as to which one but it can startle you at irst, no one on the lake dove or cover so I pretended to ignore it also. Some guy did catch a 18lb trout.

Del Valle Lake

Water Temp: cold; in the 40
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Del Valle Saturday rom 8:30 to 3:00. They reportedly stocked trout on Thursday. Didn't catch anything, nor did we get a bite. We were on a boat and tried the usual power bait and crawler/marshmellow. Also threw castmasters and rapalas. Fished the inlet creek and marina area in about 10 eet o water. Also tried driting crawlers down by the dam. Then tried slow jigging in 30-40 eet o water near rock wall and dam area or bass with big black plastics on jig heads. Nothin. Drizzled on and o all day. Pretty miserable day's ishing. Saw one boater with a 3lb rainbow. Talked to another man slow driting a wollybug rom an inner tube who wasn't having any luck either. Apparently the bank ishermen were doing a bit better.
City: OaklandTips: Fish rom the bank or planted trout using power bait.

Water Temp: 51-52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fish our small club tournament on Sat. Overcase all day with rain moving in later in the day. My partner and I concentrated on the main lake points across rom the boat launch (Barrett). I managed 4 ish right o the bat. All ish were along a steep rock and mud bank with some treee stumps. Ran down to Temprance area but did have much luck there. Ran over to the east side o the lake towards Horseshoe and ish the trees just beore the entrance to the creek to the south. Picked o another 3 or 4 ish. Fish seemed to be close to shore and would hit lightly. Just a tick in the line but no movement. I you set too soon, you'd rip the tail o. I caught all my ish on 6" green weenie worms. I'm guessing most ish were in the 15'-20' range. TOtal count 9 ish, 8 were keepers. Culled or best 5, two over 16", two about 15" and one over 14".
City: San RamonTips: I had luck in the 10-20' range near steep rock and mud banks. Fish would hit as the worm was pulled o the little stair step banks. Later in the day we ish a broad deep lat with old trees. Fish were not concentrated. I had best luck with green weenie worm.

Not a single bite, so we went over to the dam and ished till about noon and we got sick o losing spider jigs and spit shots(5'to40'). headed over to the tire ree, Mike ished a dropshot & I ished a carolina rig or about 30 min. beore my plastic crawdad got slammed but the ish got un-buttened on the way up(35'to42'). Fished or another 30 min. & nothing, decided to try one more spot at the Island using carolina rig's but didnt get a bite(25'to30'). On the way out talked to one o my bud's ishing the marina and he only had 1 bass boated the entire day. Same story at the dock nobody caught a bass. O the water by 2:00pm. Abel

Report: Would anyone be interested in a trade? I'm on to a school o 10" Spots and would gladly give up it's location or (1) 2lb. ish. 11a.m.-4p.m. North. 10'-15'o water. 1/2 oz. brown jigs.
City: AuburnTips: Tried something dierent. On clay/mud banks I set up shallow and cast deep. Banged the jig into all those old waterline ledges and ished way aster than should be reasonable given the temperature. No doubt about every hit. Unorthodox, yes. But i you're gonna reeze you might as well be catching ish.

Water Temp: na
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I'm new to ishing the delta and would like to know o a good area to ish this time o the season rom shore since I don't have a boat? I'm mainly looking to get some striped bass. Also, whats the best bait rig to do this? You can just email me or post on this board. Thanks in advance!
City: Milpitas -
Water Temp: 49
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out on the 19th and ished on what had to be the coldest I have ever been on the delta. We pulled up to the Paradise ramp in pea soup og and reezing temps. The entire boat was iced over and John and I were thinking 'what the hell are we doing out here'? We putted out to whites at about 15 mph and were inally ishing at 7:45 or so. We were ocusing on Stripers mostly, as we had been doing pretty good recently on the linesides. It was very hard to ish as cold as it was, but around 9am John hit a real nice ish on a crank bait. Around 15 minutes later, he landed a 22.6 pound striper. Beautiul ish. We then decided to throw or some bass to see i we could establish the same winter pattern we usually get on. John threw a black senko and I threw dark plastics up around structure in shallow water. We started hitting bass up to 4 pounds immediately and were going to leave the area, so we didn't drain the pattern, but the weather took a serious turn or the worse. The wind picked up rom 5 mph to 15-20 mph and this made or some serious windchill. We ished or striper or another 15 minutes and were o the water by noon. We were hoping to get down to Mildred Island, because we have some pretty good winter bass and striper spots down there, but there was no way we were going to make a long run in that kind o weather. A pretty good day or the nasty conditions we aced.
City: rosevilleTips: As I stated in earlier reports, structure is the key. The ish are not going to roam too much when the water gets into the 40's, but they are still looking to eat. Once again, all o our bass came in 3 eet o water or less. Try to ind water with at least a oot o visibility. The bites were not subtle, as the ish really jumped on the baits. Last, please let the smack talk die now. Everyone has made their point and it's kind o getting old. Let's just ocus on writing some good reports. Good luck and be sae.

Report: real cold this am so I didn't get out until noon, in at jones valley, lake up to 39.5, airtemp going in was 44, 14 rigs in the gravel at the ramp, won't be long and we wil be making the long walk up to the top, went back into swamphollow at the back o jones valley and poked around a bit but the straw debris made me leave, they put a lot o straw down over new plants put in and now it is in the lake and mostly suspended, ran over to clickapudi or three at about 1.6 per, two on the mgm157 and one on the rainbow 286, then went upstream to blue canyon and into the back or three more and one good one, a 2.6 on the rainbow 99, the other two came on a mgm 54 in a 3 inch curly tail and a 5inch 156 with a curly tail, got into the shade in the back and the temp dropped about 10 degrees, went baack to the ramp at 330 pm and the temp was dropping down to 42, was a nice day, no wind and the lake was lat or as ar as u could see, lots o debris in the pit but not so big that u had to worry about it much. most ish came out o the 25-35 t depth, the largest was in about 10t and tight up against a steep bank with chunk rock on it.
City: ReddingTips: mgm 157,54,and156, the rainbow 99 is producing the bigger ish(or me anyhow)lately
