Report: Got lucky o the trail o the North side o the Marina, just beore Trantula Cove. Limited with some damn nice ish, 2 12" and 2 16" Rainbows. and to top the day o... I landed a 9.3 pound Rainbow!!! My irst lunker!!! (Pic should be on their website soon.)Rocino (spelling?) at the marina hooked me up!!! He advised colors change much with these ish but currently they seem to hit his sherbert rainbow colored Power Bait. I had those nuggets, added some silver glitter, and jigged slowly my rig in (using over an 18" leader). Move i you eel snags as there are many submerged trees in this area. Go when they plant! The stunned ones will swim along the bank and just piss you o. You need to stay 200 yards away rom the plant site anyway which is just adjacent o the marina. But, i you jig up, the reviving ones seemed to be quite hungry about 10 t out rom shore. Change bait oten and rig light. Cast or holes and jig in slow!( I used 10lb with 6lb mono lead with all ish!, Whew!)Good Luck!
      City: Milpitas

Tips: Head or the Dam!!!! Use dierent colored (glitter) power bait. Nightcrawlers were useless during day... (Fish hit during the day but again, plant had just happened!)Plan to get a boat and troll next. Lake record is 20lbs!!!

Report: Launched out o Lundborg late about 8:45am and went to the north end o Frank's. Fished the tules caught 2 ish on the irst couple o casts 1lb and a dink. On the next cast caught a 1-2lb bluegill on the DUH spinnerbait. I have now caught stripers, largemouth, catish, squawish, and bluegill on this bait-cool stu. Nothing else or awhile. Went to Soundmound and cranked a 1.5 and 3lb bass. That was it or the largemouth. I went to the cuts in Franks and got on the stripers topwater or awhile, un when the bass don't cooperate. Last time out I caught a 9.5lb striper in these cuts with the excalibur shad.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Post ront conditions (high pressure, zero clouds) probably to blame. Had alot o small ish nipping at my lures. I'm a poor isherman ater ronts or some reason, but I'm working on it.

Report: tried calling Shasta Recreation about the loat at Packers and Hirz Bay and the phone is dis-connected, guess I'll have to make a trip up to antlers and see i anyone is around, went out with Mr. Fuller (Bryce) in the evening and got my butt kicked again but not to hard. Lake going down near 100t and still a bit dirty, ran up to Arbuckle looking or shad but couldn't ind anything working, ish were suspended, Bryce managed 5 and one legal ish, I caught only one, I spent the evening throwing stu I usually don't throw to see what would happen and nothing did. Bryce caught his shaking the MGM #54 worm, we ished the area around the entrance o Blue Canyon also and the urther you went back into the coves the less ish we ound, the little weather ront that went through has brought things to a screeching halt. talked to some others and most report the same results, no ish or all small. I think I got this igured out and am going out riday am to see i I am right. The ABA guys might be in or hard times on the weekend. My money will be on Townsend and McLaughlin.

Report: Went out to Folsom "Pond" Saturday and had a air day. I was teaching my brother-in-law, a Salmon isherman rom Chugiak Alaska, how to bass ish. I had success irst thing in the morning with a spinnerbait, a 3 1/2 lb spot and a couple o short strikes. I then split shot a 2 lb smallie on a 6" 082. Then my brother-in-law came and we went to the dam to ish (sorry can't reveal my morning location). The only ishing style he was able to use with any luck was drop-shotting. I dart headed a ew, with the biggest going 2.2 lbs and we drop shot about 15 ish to 1.75 lbs. I am really starting to get an idea o where the big largemouth and spots go during every season. A month has not gone by without a 5 plus pounder in my catch. My days o split-shotting dinks are done, you don't need to inesse ish this lake to be successul, as I once believed. I'm going out again by weeks end to do some top water or smallies.
      City: Elk Grove

Tips: FIND THE COOL WATER IN THE SUMMER!!! Threadins are about 1 1/2" - 2" right now. Lucky Crat Pointer 78 in Chartreuse Shad is very eective or numbers. Find big Largemouth in shallows next to stumps on lats. Don't ish too ast, and cast to deep water oten or good smallies.

We were ishing with a limited amount o time, so made our second and inal stop on the north bank o the main channel a couple o hundred yards west o the entrance to the Stockton Yacht Club. We picked up another 2 ish (2-21/2 lb) on the same spinnerbaits and called it a day. Overall, not a bad day, since we landed every ish that bit, and they would all weigh-in. Looking orward to next weekend with the ull moon.

Report: My riend Dave (the ishin'-Pol) Kryszak visited us ater a Salmon trip on Saturday, and we ished Sunday rom 6-12:30.We had a great day, our irst spot produced 12 ish in about 20 minutes- no dinks. These were topwater and rip ish. As the sun came up we switched to jigs, this gave us our best ish, but not a lot o numbers. We tried ishing topwater out in the middle o shady coves but no takers, inally got a good ish on a spook o o a point. Dave had a very big ish blow up on his spittin image, the ish just missed it, something makes me think it was a largemouth. Finally we had to give into the dropshot and we had a lot o un pulling them up rom 50'.. I guess our weight would have been between 9-10 pounds. Just a good day on the water having un!!.
      City: Redding

Tips: These spotted bass are unny, i you get into a good school when they are eeding, they make you look like a genius. Conversely, i you are outta sync with them, they make you want to sell the boat outta rustration. Looking orward to the next one Dave!!

Report: went out with the Cottonwood Bass Team to ish a club tournament as a guest, in at Packers early at 5 AM to avoid the rush, air temp 63 lake down near 97t, sat around shooting the breeze with the members and praying my last tuesday spots would hold up, took o at 640 AM and ran up the McCloud all alone to near Shallow point, started throwing a crnk bait and getting bit right o the bat by dinks but managed a 2.62 spot o a lat in 5 eet o water, took o upstream near Dooles creek or some more dinks and a 1.8 spot. Stayed north till 10am when I was joined by Jim Lowery with his non-boater, Jim said he only had one, picked up another small one and let or a place on Squaw creek behind horse creek point with about 6 lbs in the boat. 28 more dinks later and I am in trouble, can't buy a legal ish! go to a rock wall across rom Horse Creek which produced three decent ish on tuesday but no go. Now I am starting to press a bit and the un just went out o it. That was the end o that. no bites ater 215 pm, the wind came up out o the south about that time. Ran back or the weigh in and heard some more sad tales, many small ish and nothing over 2.92. did talk to a couple o guys not in the tournament that I know and they were having a hard time with a lot o dinks, the spawn o the year are now up to 4-5 inches long and you can usually see a herd o them ater you toss your lure in chasing your line where it enters the water. The loat at Packers is o the track and sticking out into one lane o the two lane ramp. That makes three loats on three dierent ramps that are messed up.
      City: Redding

Tips: the MGM twin tail skirted grubs accounted or most o the ish until I ran out o them, didn't get a touch on any o my spinner baits, 8-10 came rom a deep diving crank bait

My wie and I ished with kastmasters and rooster tails. I threw out a 1/4 oz neon green rooster tail then all o a sudden I got a hit. There was alot o grass in the water and very windy, but set the hook anyway. To my surprise there was the biggest smallsmouth I have every caught. It was 4lbs 2ozs Not big or some but or me a great eat. I thought I would share this with you all, thanks or reading.

Tips: For bass and trout I use kastmasters, rooster tails, blue ox inline spinners, and mepps inline spinniers.Yellow, green on the spinners and blue on the kastmasters appears to work the best.

Report: Much better day today. Headed out right after the rain on monday night. The fish seemed to respond! We got nothing on topwater early. Got 2 small largemouth on a Yo-Zuri pin's minnow. Spent the rest of the day drop-shotting and split shotting around a submerged island in the main lake. Fish were only hitting one color, CANT TELL YA THOUGH:) We got 15 more fish around the island. 3 were caught dropshotting in 40 feet, and 12 were caught split-shotting in 25 feet. Find the fish on your finder or you will be out of luck. This is the time of year where you have to be on TOP of the fish to get them to bite. Got 17 on the day, most quality fish. Look forward to Clear Lake next week!

Report: My buddy John does not have access to the web, so he asked me to post a report or him. He stated that he took his 7 year son out on the Delta at irst light, launching out o Paradise. He ran up Dissapointment aways and started throwing senkos. He immediately started hooking up on 2 to 3 pound bass. Ater about 2 hours on the water he pitched a senko up behind a log lay down and elt a couple ticks, setting the hook on a beautiul 7 1/2 pounder. He was pretty excited, because this was his biggest ish to date. Around 10 am John said that the small Striper started to boil so he let his son cast out a speedtrap and just catch ish ater ish or an hour or so. There were also some pounder blackies caught on this method as well. Overall, they caught around 10 blacks to 7 1/2 and numerous small stripers to 3 pounds.

Tips: John stated that most o the ish were in 3 eet o water or less.
