Report: Went bass ishing on 5/11/01 with Henry Tabor, who proved to be an excellent guide. We launched Henry's boat in Lakeport and basically stayed at the North end o the lake. We irst tried our luck at "top water", but ater a couple o hours o no action, we switched to lorescent worms, and this is when we caught ish. On the boat with me was my 89 year old step dad who caugt 3 bass and lost 2 at the boat, I caught 7 bass and lost 3 at the boat. Being novice bass ishermen, we eel we lost 5 ish due to the act that we simply didn't set the hooks well enough. We had a great day on the lake and recommend Henry Tabor's guide service to all. He's very knowledgeable, has great equipment and is lots o un to ish with.

Report: I brought my boat home yesterday to change the oil and clean it up. When I arrived at the ramp at Bridge Bay at 4:45 A.M. this morning a young man approached me and asked or a ride back to his houseboat, he had went to the hospital with a girl riend who had allen while trying to jump rom the top o one houseboat to another, she remains in the hospital with a serious concussion. I took him back to his houseboat and was surprized to see appox. 60 boats all tied up togather, that must have been some party! Now back to ishing, started at Alder Creek threw topwater or 1/2 hour, no takers, tossed MGM 106 worm and Yamamoto 180 cut tail all dinks, ran over to Dry Creek started luking with cinnamon luke caught a ew that may have come close to 1 lb. could not keep the dinks o, ran back to Bridge Bay stopped at Lick Gulch or my only decent ish o the day a 1.6 lbs. on 180 cut tail worm. I've got a busy weekend ahead so I won't be ishing until Tuesday, hope I don't go into withdrawal.

Report: current conditions only, haven't been ishing as I am back to work, lake at 19.8. lost a oot and a hal in the last week as the lows increase, college kids showed up yesterday and seem to be a more sedate group this year, they are on slaughterhouse so avoid that area i ur coming up, many dink males being caught and a ew post spawn emales, good crankin and rip bite early am and luke ishing would be a good bet o o rock walls, mid day will require a little deeper eort, the MGM127 and 109 are still producing as well as jigs and blades, temps are starting to coola bit with mid 80's predicted or the weekend, water is in excellent condition with a coating o pollen in wind protected areas.

Report: Went out around 4:00 in the evening. Started fishing with blades managed to pick up 2 fish around 2 1/2lbs. Then I decided to pitch a bait that I have been trying to stay away from due to popularity and COST, yes "senkos". Second cast caught one about 2lbs, 5th cast one shook me off. Caught 1 at 5 1/2lbs, 2 at 4lbs and 2 around 2 1/2 to 3 lb range. Eight fish in all, its starting to get there. I can't wait in till there is strong top water action.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: 4 ish between 6:00pm and sunset south ork among all the watersports enthusiasts. There was even a cigarette boat. Mount a lipping deck on it and you would have to wave o F-14s. My son graduated to spinning gear and I graduated to a bass over 2lbs. An exhausted, spawned out largemouth on a surace bait o a point. The others came on darterheads. My son has not mastered the spinning technique- He lips the bail over two out o three casts. He has a quota on Luckycrats he can snap o. It's a great excuse or me lacking the nowledge and the ability to ish the trees- my TD minnows would be like ornaments and he'd have the willows lit up like Christmas trees. Kids grow up so ast these days- I was well into my twenties beore I shed my nickname Zebco. One day he will inherit my box o dissassebled Mitchell 300s. My wie says the Serrano Hot Air Balloon event is May 19 & 20. Shucks, got a tournament at Clearlake. Besides last year the brea cheese was too resh and or our bucks, I thought I got the whole bottle o wine. I'm going to keep ishing here to get ready or Clearlake- there's alot o similarites. Water and bass just to name a ew. I was on a business trip to Eureka earlier this week (I emerged rom quarantine with no new diseases)and in one night two o my riends had intimate conversations with my wie about my obsessive ishing habit. I had my Calcutta 51 on my light baitcaster between the seats and I had to move it to answer the cell phone. I said now that's the pot calling the kettle black and no, I was too busy to talk about it. I had my bellyboat in the trunk, blew o my last customer at 4:00pm and was headed out to a little pond I know. Almost missed my irst appointment when I went back the next morning. What's there to talk about?
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: Subtle changes take place in May. Take last year or example. Me and my buddy Blademan took a third in a Club tournament on a cool drizzly mid May day using darterheads and jigs. Two weeks later brimming with conidence I entered the Golden State with another riend. The weather was hot and the lake was a cluster o powerboat users. We tried to orce the same pattern and the result was a giant sucking sound eminating rom our boat. The vortex was so intense any boat within 1,000 yards was sent spinning helplessly out o control. Watch those subtle changes to post-spawn.

Report: Well, I'm new to ishing this lake. Went out 3 times this week, caught 6 ish total. I was doing mostly site ishing even thought it seems as i it's time to move out to the deeper water. As i said, doing some site ishing I spotted one o the larger ish I've seem still near the bank on the other side o the lake across rom the island. I spent 2 good hours lipping a grub in one o the last bedded ish. The ish weighed in at 5 pounds 4 ounces, once I inally got it in the boat, it spit my hook three times and bent my hook once. The ith time I got her. Anyway, it looks like deeper water is in the bass ishing uture or me, i anyone has any tips I'd love to hear rom you. Good luck.

Report: Let bridge Bay at 5 A.M. headed to Clickapuldl Cove caught 1 spot 1.5lbs on topwater northeast wind about 15 mph so I moved over to Horse Creek, caught 8 ish the best was 2.4 lbs. all on dierent worms, it seems that each bait was good or only 1 ish and nothing was working more than once, I even brought up someones line with a clear 4" grub still on so I threw it and wham! a 1.8 spot. Wind still blowing so I decided to call it quits or today, out at 11 A.M. be back tomorrow

Report: Got on the water about 6pm and headed up the north ork. Immediately got in to the ish. We hit ish on senko's, darters and lizards, all in 10 t o water and less. We were surprised to get right on ish due to the bright, hot, calm coditions, but they were there. As the sun started to go down behind the hills, we started rippin, crankin and buzzin. They all worked. We stopped ishing around 8:30 and ended up with around 35 ish to 3.3#'s. It was an absolutely awesome 2 1/2 hours o ishing.
      City: roseville, ca

Tips: I hear o a lot o people saying to ish already, but there are still a ton o ish in the shallows. At least 75% o our ish were keepers.

      Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: We had a pretty good day, even though we got a late start.Started on the peninsula and worked our way down. I guess it is a mixed bag o ish time o year. We seem to be catching all three species in the same areas. The active ish seem to be around 10 to 15 eet. I saw ish in 8 eet or less, but they just took a look at it. Most o my ish were caught on senkos or worms in the trees. I got one on a spinnerbait, but that is it. I tried rippin and one lashed at it right in ront o the boat. I am suprised the rip bite hasn't turned on. Everytime I go out I'll give it a shot, but only get one here and there. These damn 2lb spots and smallies are costing me an arm and a leg tearing my plastics, but I love eelin em pull on my line. Anyway we caught around 15 or so, and lost a ew good ones. I you ish on Tuesday or Wednesdays, and you see a v-hull 17' tracker stop and say hi. I enjoy dock talk.Good Luck.
      City: El Dorado Hills

Tips: Fish trees and rock piles in the 10-18' range.I you ind all three in one spot you've ound a gold mine.Nice to see the lake has some Largemouth that are inally biting.Senkos are the ticket in trees.

Report: What up Sean Moore. I read your note and I am willing to help you guys out. I am 20 years old and have been tournament ishing or 2 years and I ish 2 dierent trails 100 percent bass and New Bass. Both o these trails have a urture Pro division so you are not ishing against any pro's. They both have 2 dierent horse power divisions 0-90 and 91 on up. They are cheap events and you learn a lot. We just had a recent tounament on the Delta on the 6 o May and it took 20.88 pounds or 7 to win in the big boat and just a little over 11 to win the small boat (I think).
      City: Benicia

Tips: I you want to ind out more about the two trails e-mail my partner at basshog27@aol the next tournament is at Clear Lake on the 24 o June Hope to see you there.

Report: Fished all day Tuesday and it was Hot! 98 degrees the news said. Good thing we brought the boat top. The ishing was Hot also. Fished with my buddy Mike who hadn't ished in awhile. We ishing the south end irst, using spinnerbaits& a Zara Spook{rog pattern}. Started catchin' em' right away. Then we started throwing wht.1/4oz. Buzzbaits, a little better ish 3lbs. Moved to the narrows and started throwing jigs 1/4oz. blk.on blk.1 smallie and alot o bumps. I think the the ish didn't like the jig in there nest. So we went back to reaction baits. I put on a silver/rainbow luke and WOW! Really started to hammer em', up to 5lbs. Missed some really nice ish. Most o the action came around coves and wood. Tules and grass areas produced well also. Went up to the main body and dropshotted a bit. Caught ish in 5 to 20 t. o water on 4in. shad pattern Keeper worms. Couple o my riends were ishing by the dam and had a limit o nice trout on powerbait & nite crawlers. It was Hot weatherwise and ishingwise. Goodtime to get out.
      City: Fremont

Tips: We had a ew patterns working or us but the luke seemed to be the ticket or better ish. We worked it very eratticly. Give it a try and let us know how you do. Catch and Release & Goodishin'
