Lafayette Lake
-
Water Temp: 65 - 70 degrees
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I went out Sunday, 4/29/01. I haven't been on the lake or a while so I just spent most o my time cruising around and making some casts. Later in the aternoon I went back into the East cove and ound some better ishing. I made casts to quite a ew ish in the 2 to 4 pound range, most o which were airly shallow and visible. I didn't have any problem getting there attention, it was just a matter o convincing them to bite as they hovered inches below my bait. I through a spinnerbait and various plastics, and my trusty Castaic crayish to a ew ish that were on a sand bank, but still nothing. I did manage about a 6 inch bass slit shotting a 4 inch worm, but I don't think that counts, lol. From what I can tell, the bass have not spawned yet, although I may be wrong. The water temperature was in the high 60's the whole time. I'll be out again in another week or two, I should have some better "luck" now that I know what to expect.
City: Pleasant HillTips: 4" worms are a given. Any conditions, any time, there the thing to have. I got more attention with that than with anything else. I'll have more advice when I have more ish.

We tried Senko's, worms, lizards, crawish, crankbaits, Jigs, Spinnerbait, topwater, even buzzbaits. Hard to keep the boat where you wanted. There were several ish rolling on the surace (not likely bass). Optimistic or Sunday, wrong, 5:30 a.m. 2 to 3 oot whitecaps. Tried the other side o the south end.
