      Water Temp: 45

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Have been out several times, since the last post. Theish are still taking spoons/kastmasters jigged near thebottom, especially in the areas you locate bait pods. They are taking small gitzits near the bottom. My partnerand I have been getting some bass and lot's o salmon andbrowns. AS this weather clears and it begins to warm it really should get better. Have un, dress warm and try to timeyour trips between storms.

      Water Temp: 54 ^

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Didn't do all that well. Got a few taps with the walking worm, in orange, yes the one "as seen on TV", save your money!!. Did some drop shotting with live minnows, but bait shop (you all know which one) only had 4 jumbo's and a bunch of sickly mediums, most of which died in first two hours. But the good news is....the lake is getting full, the water is getting warm and those big ole bucket mouths are moving up. Partner got a nice 4.2lber in afternoon. its just a matter of days guys, and the bite is on!!!
      City: Santa Clara

Tips: talked to a few who did ok with Brush Hogs in black and orange. Fish slow, and with all the water flowing in, there is stuff floating all over, be careful. tight lines.

      Water Temp: low 50's

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished all day without a bite. Fished jigs, worms, spinnerbaits, cranks, lizards, and nothing needs to clear.

      Water Temp: 55-58

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Got out for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon. Spent a while looking for fish near the spawning areas with no luck. Finally moved onto the spawning flats and BINGO. Just waited to long to look where I thought they might be from the start. Only managed to land on that went about 3# and missed a couple of other bites. Never felt the 3 bite, felt like the lizzard was just dragging accross the bottom. I then noticed the line moving a little sidways and gave it a check set. Other two bites were also very soft. Fish were very shallow <2 feet of water.
      City: Brentwood

Tips: Looks like this nice weather has brought at least some fish up to spawn.

      Water Temp: 50-57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Whiskey Slough @9am and fished the rip/rap tule areas nearby for about an hour with cranks and jigs with no luck. Flipped a 1.25#er around a dock on a reaper. Nothing else in Whiskey. Went to Mildred and flipped some tule flats around there for about 2 hours with black/blue jigs and red/black jigs- nothing, not a single touch. Water temp around 53-55. I couldn't believe it. These were ideal spawning areas (1-2ft of water at low tide, good protection, sparse tules some weed). Must not be spawning yet. Fished the bottom of Mildred where the water flows in and out with crankbait (red speed trap) and a 3/8oz duh shad colored spinnerbait. Lost a 2+#er at the boat on the spinnerbait and caught a 2-3# striper (hit like a truck). Cranked and flipped in Whiskey on the way out no luck. Very slow day, maybe because of the bluebird skies and high pressure post front thing. Thanks to Terry for lending me his boat, my engine rebuild is taking months thanks to the OMC thing. Scott

Tips: Maybe the upcoming weather will put the fish on more of a bite. I saw a number of boats out did anyone have a good day, if so how?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Lazy trip. Didn't throw out the irst lure until 11:00am.First ish 11:30. Nice two and a hal pounder. Bite went dead until 2:30pm. Then things heated up a little. Caught ive in the next hour and a hal. All between 2 and 3 lbs, except or one that went 6lb2oz. Wind started kicking at 4. I was using plastics, so things got tough. Still caught two more by 5:30pm. Probably lost 4 because o the wind(and old age). All in all, not a bad winters day o ishing. On the water or 6 1/2 hours. Eight in the boat. Four more that could have been. All on plastics. All between 2~12t. Best ive probably 16 to 17 lbs.

Tips: I don't think you need minnows anymore to catch ish.

      Water Temp: ???

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: I was on the lake in mid January. Bass ishing was slow but I hooked three nice rainbow trout by the dam on a gold cast master. The best o the three went 20 inches. So today I decided to try trolling the dam area again. Didn't get a bite. Headed over to the east side o the lake, beached the boat, and started soaking a inlated night crawler where I had metered ish in 10 t. o water. In less than ive minutes the rod was jumping out o the rod holder. Anyways I missed a big one. I ished the hole hard or at least an hour and got one more bite. Went back to the dam area and drited a crawler. Hooked a 3+ large mouth, in the same area I had ished with everything in the box. Just as I brought in the boat two other isherman came by and were impressed since they hadn't landed one all day. To quote him he said; "big ish to catch on a little riggin night crawler". Yah at least I caught one buddy. And he continued by as he through some little plastic thing that he must o got out o a happy meal box.

      Water Temp: 49.5-51.5

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Havn't fished Calero for a couple of weeks ...fished from 9 to 5...Two of us cought 8 fish , all solid keepers with one going 7.5..All fish were cought on jigs except for one on a trap early..The big fish was cought on a jig in 20-22'..our other better fish were cought in that range as well..water is coming up ..the small over flow spill way is dumping a bunch of muddie water in ..and clear water is isolated to the main body..all that fresh water can shut the bite down if it blowes the lake out..It's flowing out of that spill way about 2 degrees colder than the rest of the lake..I think the water conditions are bringing the fish up more than I would call it a pre spawn mode..thats just my gut feeling..With good weather next month will be wide open for some great blade fishing...

      Water Temp: 50

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: The recent rains muddied up the water quite a bit, but it didn't slow the bite. Three of us fished from 8:30 to 11:00 and managed to boat 5 nice fish. The largest was about 4 lbs. and the smallest was just under 3 lbs. All fish were right on the bank. We used small worms in dark colors and fished slowly. If the weather ever gets nice the bite should be awesome!
      City: San Jose

Tips: Fish are in their pre-spawn mode...fish shallow and always practice catch and release!

      Water Temp: 49-53

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished rom early until around 2:00. Not one ish! Trolled to the dam and threw everyting in the tacklebox. We anchored or one hour and "saw" two trout caught in about 15' o water. Tried to ind "BUBBA" or some advice, no luck there either. Was told a 27lb. stripper was caught the day beore.

Tips: Extremely slow going. Warmer water is needed to get the bite going. Any lure will work then.
