Report: Hello all. I have been fishing Calero for nearly 14 years and have had my wins and losses, but most important of all, I ALWAYS practice catch & release. This is just a reminder to all the new anglers in our area that catch & release is VERY important, especially this time of year as spring and the spawn season approach. Good luck to all of you this season! See you out there!

Report: Sorry for the late report, phone line was down ALL weekend. Fished Calero from 8:30-4:45 on Saturday and found a great bite. Really windy until mid afternoon. I hooked 13 and landed 10 of them. Really nice fish today, I managed a 5, 4, two 3's, and the rest were all solid 2lbers. I threw small jigs and zipper grubs right around 10' of water. I also managed to get 3 of my smaller fish on a shad colored Fat Free Shad crankbait....nice change of pace. The water must have warmed up a little bit because I didn't get any short strikes today, and the fish fought REALLY HARD. Great day.
      City: San Mateo

Tips: Keep fishing slow but don't be afraid to pull out a crank or blade, especially if it's windy and/or cloudy.
