Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Frank's, Sycamore, and Hog on Sunday afternoon. Missed one on brush hog, and no further hits. Caught 3 weighing 0.5-1.5 lbs on rattletrap from a cut into Frank's, lost 3 others at boat - no toads. Ran to Sycamore, caught 2 fish, one on Delta Craw speed trap on rocks, one on T-rigged magic worm, missed two others that felt small. While it was too cool, decided to throw frog on mats, one blowup from small fish, missed again. Ran to Hog, got bit regularly on rattletrap and T-rigged worm all fish were small, missed most of them, but put 3 more in boat and lost a striper at boat (glad it got off in order to avoid bleeding, since I forgot my hook remover!). All told, caught 8 small blackies and missed at least 10 others. Still can't find better fish, but glad to be out. Tight lines!
      City: Half Moon Bay

Tips: Interestingly, I caught fish in an area with fairly heavy boat traffic coming and going into Frank's, didn't seem to bother the fish too much.

      Water Temp: 70

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished a Sun late aternoon/night trip and a Mon night trip and landed 14 or the two trips - 2 biggest were on Mon, 6-3 and a 6-7, both on 10" Power worms. Sun night was the most miserable summer evening I have ever seen at Clear Lake - very cold strong wind gusts the whole trip. We elt good i we could cast our baits close to our target!! I looked or little pockets in the back o Konocti Bay that might not have cooled o as much because o the wind. It worked - clients caught 3 or 4 ish and I got a couple - mostly on black/red brush hogs. Biggest was just under 5 lbs. Mon the wind just quit an hour ater dark and we could enjoy our ishing and were able to land a 21 lb limit. One client got his irst Senko ish at night using a color I recommend or low light conditions, #135. The 2 six pounders came rom deep water - up to 25 eet. Because o the "winter" storm, most quality ish moved to deeper water. Warm weather should bring them back up to begin the all eed.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The new Berkley Power Hog in Junebug seems to be a winner. That bait has worked very well the past ew trips!!

      Water Temp: 71

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished with brother sPat and Bones or a un weekend at Clear Lake. Fishing wasn't as easy as it could have been or this time o year but they are there. A lot o good ish are deep. We caught a ew over 3# on jigs and blades shallow in tules and weeds but the 5's and 6's came rom 8' to 15' o water o rock areas on super slowly movin' cranks. Just bump the bottom and stop then wham. Lost a couple that were pretty big saw two at the boat, one about 5 and the other about 9. Landed some goodies as well! Managed a couple o good 5 ish limits over 20#.
      City: BAy Point

Tips: Be persistant and deal with the wind because these are the places to be. Go to your deeper rock areas and crank deep shad patterns and play those dawgs out, don't yank 'em too hard, they'll whoop ya!!

      Water Temp: 75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Back out o Jones Valley at 6pm, out o the water at 8pm, or 7 in the boat, one dink, kept three that inhaled my jig, they have moved o the banks into about 20 t o water but they were just banging the heck out o the Yamamoto's in salt and pepper, the wie caught one, she made me put that in, I was swimming my jigs back to the boat and just barely ticking them along the tops o the rocks and WHAM! water is clearing up ast, no traic at all,,,, they all went home. Temp dropping daily with all the cool weather we have had, supposed to heat up again over the weekend, lake at 57 t down, the level rose a little with the 4inches o rain we got. Wind has inally shited around to the north, should be clear and bright or the next week or so.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the Turkey Shoot out of the Hook today. Fairly tough bite. Found top water fish early on rip rap with current. Missed a good one by yankin the bait away too quick. Ended up with two small keepers & a few dinks in the 1st hour. Few bites after that. One more two pounder on a crankbait, and that was it. Seems most folks did about the same. Best part was skunkin' my brother....AGAIN!!!
      City: Castro Valley

Tips: Seems the better fish came on Senkos near tules & deeper water. Didn't work for me, but did for others. Despite some reports, top water fish are available.

      Water Temp: 70'

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: While trying to preish or the up-coming Stratos tourney, saw several compeditors on the water yesterday, braving the ierce morning breezes, and choppy waters o the south. Lots o dinks shallow, but the better ish are still deep.(10'-15')Caught three cranking rocks, two o which came un-buttoned, one elt real nice as it pulled about 10' o drag beore she got o.My hooks were super sharp. It just seemed as though they didn't want it real bad, post- rontal conditions and all.Brought another near the boat on a Senko, but she came un-buttoned also.Bite should improve next week. The nights are cooler now, so the water temp will start downward, moving the bigger ish shallow.
      City: San Leandro

      Tips: Too much wind!!!!!!!!!!!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Arrived at lake or 6 AM "unlocking o the gate". Fished ultralight with 4 inck white worm and split shot. By 7:30 Am had 6 bass landed (3 largemouth & 3 small mouth) rom 13 inches to 16 inches (1 lb to 2.5 lb). Fished rocky shorelines that run at least 100 yards in about 15 t o water. Slowed down rom 7:30 to 9:oo AM. Strted ishing in 30 t o water in ront o dam. Landed 2 largemouth about 2.5 lb each on irst 2 casts.Tried trolling or salmon and trout. Trolled or 1.5 hours in ront og "glory hole" and hooked 2 salmon. First was about 14 inches but ought like a 5 pounder. Caught on a needleish at 40 t. Second caught 1 hr later on same lure at 50 t but was only 11 inches. Tried 2 spots or catish with liver and mackeral, only 1 bite but no hook up. Started bass ishing again and hooked a 3 lb largemouth and a 17 inch striber.saw a striber eeding on trout but he was gone beore I could toss a top water lure at him!!!
      City: Fremont

Tips: I ish Del Valle reguarly over the last 15 years. Stick to Rocky Shorelines in 15 to 20 t o water and slowly work lures back to boat. Smallmouth were plentiul 1 to 3 years ago. Last 10 months or so Black bass are more plentiul 10 to 1. Stop keeping the smallies!!!! Have seen a lot o striper action in the last 2 years. Hear lots o stories o 20 to 25 ish days. Problem is they are are 16 to 17 inches.

Report: Launched outt of holland and found no topwater takers. Cloud cover held until 8:30 or so. We began flipping tules near moderate current on the incoming tide for a few fish. Post front conditions in full effect.
      City: Orinda

Tips: Keep it slow, and near current breaks

Report: Fished the Break Saturday for Stripers. Fished in the middle of the weed beds on the north-east side of the break for 5 stripers from 1.5 to 3 lbs. Tide changed so we broke up the day with alittle black bass fishing. Ended up with 7 black bass from 2 to 2.5 lbs. 14 to 16 lb. weight. Went back to fishing for stripers when tide started coming in. Another 4 small stripers.
      City: Pittsburg

Tips: Caught stripers with half ounce chrome and blue and black rattle-traps. All black bass were caught with Senko's. Fished black and red flakes and watermelon black flakes. Once again, Texas rigged, let them settle for a few moments, feel for weight, set hook.

Report: I thought I was going to be tough day of fishing, but wasn't expecting it to be as tough as it was. In other words, I was expecting only a slice of humble pie, but I received more than I could eat. In any event, here's my .02 cents.
      City: San Jose

Tips: From what I've heard, "I should'a been here yesterday". Which makes sense being that I was fishing post-front conditions and the water temps. have been on a steady decline. Use 5" or smaller plastics in areas where shad and current is present, then pray for a big'un.
