Water Temp: 77
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Wow, we just got our nice trip in beore the howling delta winds hit, and the temp dropped 20+ degrees. Client and I started about 6 PM and I got a 13" bass on the second cast, luckly not the irst! It hit a Rodstrainer jig. The heat had put the shad down, so there was not much surace activity at all. I did get a 2 1/4 pounder on a chug bug topwater bait. Just beore dark, client gets a nice 2 1/2 pounder on a Terminator spinnerbait near the mouth o Jackson creek. Ater dark, or an hour or so, we had the customary dead time. Then, about 9:30, I had a good tick on a 12" Power Worm and was able to land a at 6 pounder in the main body. She was about 20 eet deep. Two casts later, I mistook a big bass or a clump o weeds, and missed it. What a sickening eeling!! I caught 2 more worm ish, one almost 3 pounds. Finally, my client, who was ishing a Weapon jig, set the hook on a good 'un, and I get to net a beautiul 7 lb 3 oz beauty. This was about 11:45 PM, and the ish seemed to be moving a bit shallower - he caught her in about 10 eet o water. Ater I caught another shallow worm ish, about 2-6, client hooked another big one, but lost it in some wood. About 1 AM, the delta breeze started, the moist air set in, and the bass went out, somewhere. They just shut o. A very nice trip with 8 bass total, with top ive at about 21 lbs. Not bad or a Sept. evening at Amador!
City: Yuba CityTips: Water temp will have to cool a bit or the surace activity to pick up. Reaction baits just wern't working well or us. Seems to be a worm and jig bite - 10 to 25 eet, on steep banks and some points. Don't shake worm or big ish - just pull it - slowly!!

Report: Started out looking for stripers with a friend from out of town. The stripers were nowhere to be found in the south this am. Started fishing for the green ones in the middle Delta and found a flip bite on Senko's that lasted until 2pm when we left. We boated lots of 12 to 14 inch fish. Had one over four and a couple of three's. All senko fish, couldn't get a jig bite going.
City: TracyTips: The lower temps today (80's) may have kept the fish up. Senko's on tule points near rocks and current.

Report: Sunday 9/17/00.Wasted 1 hour driving to Hayward to PU a "riend" who begged me to take hom ishing. He never answered the door!!! Reminds me o whu I usually ish alone. Even with the 45 minute delay I was still at the gate (2nd in line) prior to opening.Seeing as how it was still dark I thought I would change my normal routine or the day. I bought 12 JUMBO minnows the day beore and ocused on Stripers. I hit every spot I had ever caught, seen or heard o a striper being caught. I kept 2 poles ready with dierent LARGE top water lures. I drited them deep, I drited them shallow, I tossed them into deep holes. NO LUCK! Hey it was a long shot anyway! How many people do you know who actually have caught stripers at Dell Valle. I have caught 2 and I believe hooked 2 others in the last 10 years.I strted ishing or bass with the let over minnow and had a great day. Caught 5 bass in about 2 hours. 1 at about 4 lb (at!!), 3 at 2.5 and 1 13 inch. Not sure how that little one ate that JUMBO!Switched to trolling about 11;30 Am. Trolled at 27 t deep and had 3 dolid hits in 1.5 hour. Caught a 13 inch trout and a 3 lb trout. Third one wrapped up in the down rigger cable and broke o. No salmon today!
City: remontTips: 4 inch white worm or JUMBO minnows! Rocky shorelines in 15 to 25 t.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Had jury duty in the AM so I went ishing in the PM o a very hot day. Caught a 1.5 on the back side o rattlesnake on a 208 senko. I thought, this is easy--wrong. Extremely clear water--no wind at all I saw millions o small bass(under 8") cruising shallows and nibbling on my senko. Fished docks, rocks, etc and no bites. At 6 pm, headed or thick wood by redbud. Caught two 3.5's. One one a senko, one on a rog. three more 1.5-2.5's on senko. Saw hal o them eat it. Fished shag rock at dark. Caught two 2 lbs on a brushog and one 3.5 on a 10" worm. Might have stayed later than 9 pm, but I had to work the next day. One interesting thing happened. I crank a set o 4 pipes in the aternoon. Today, I hit a bunch o moss w/the crank. A seven lb and a bunch o 4's and 5's ollowed the moss encrusted bait to the boat as I jerked it to try to get rid o the moss. Ater that, nothing would entice them. I wonder i a rip bait might have gotten a second glance.................

Report: looking basck at my last post and did some back tracking, I have had 284 trips on the lake since moving here on 12-31-98, on ive trips I didn't catch anything so I guess I can't comlain too much. Went out o Jones Valley at 8 pm over to squaw point, a dink on the irst cast, now i'm eeling better, poked around a bit and moved to Clickapudi and picked up 6 more, two were nice, water temp back up a ew degrees, lake down to 58 1/3 t, Clickapudi cove is really down now, at 11:30 pm the north wind started to howl so I moved over to a north bank near brushy canyon and picked up two more to 2 1/2 lbs, all on jigs. The wind really started moving at midnight so got o the water. Most ish taken in 15 t or less but did stick one at closer to 30 t beore the wind started blowing. in the water at 103 degrees, out at 87 degrees, things should cool o by Saturday, was 106 today.

Water Temp: 70
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: On water at 9:00 a.m. out of Paradise Point Marina with son, John. Continuing our learning of the Delta,
Tips: Given similar conditions, I'd suggest a very slow retrieve, on or near bottom, on outside edge of weeds, with Texposed-hooked black-blue flake Senko. Fishing parallel to weed-edge optimizes time of exposure of the lure.

Report: Fished club event Sat.night.No wind,70" and comortable.Tried several rock piles, including 6-8 at Rattlesnake, with no luck. Had only one ish in the boat at 3am,so I went to sleep. At 4am my non-boat lipped one onto my belly. From then on it was a good bite,as we caught ive ish,and lost three, lipping blk/blu jigs under the docks in Pirates cove. The moon was pretty bright, and the bass were under the shade or some reason. I heard reports that at Frazier, the bite turned on at midnight to 2am. I guess the ish move up in mass at dierant times all over the lake.

Report: On the 16th, launched out of Ladds, realized there was tourney goin on when i saw about 30 glowin lights on boats, pretty neat to see a blast off ...had never seen one before. Anyhow , first spot we fished was inside buckley cove, friend caught two fish usin a white buzz bait. Tide started goin out so we went to flipping senkos and some 4 inch power worms. I caught 2 bass on the power worm, a keeper and one small one. My friend tore it up with the senkos, nothin really big in size, biggest goin 1.9 pounds but he caught 5 fish off of the senko. Went over into the port and i put on a spinnerbait, my friend was tellin me how they use spinners to catch striper out here, as soon as he got done with that i nailed a striper, put up a good fight but just under 18 so i tossed him back. Went out on the 17th to Brannon Island hopin for a little better luck and some better size, welp shows what i know, had one bit, set my hook, had him on , lost him in the weeds....only action i got all day. My friend caught 5 i think total biggest probably around 2 or 2.5. Too damn hot out there , however did get a nice farmer tan!
