Report: Fished the WON Team Tourney. My partner and I struggled most of the day and only brought two bass to the scales. However, one of them tied for Big Fish of the tourney at 4.48#. Took the big fish on top water up the creek at about 11:00. Picked up the scond bass on a crank. We didn't find any worm bite, however after the weigh-in several other anglers said they had worm fish deep - 40 to 50 feet. Others found blade fish on the main body. Lot of earth gass coming to the surface so lake seems to be turning.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched at 7:30 AM, water level is low so the south end is mostly dry. Not even a bite in 4 hours. Other fishermen were catching fish all around me. The only difference is that I was using lures and they were using live minnows.
      City: Fremont

Tips: Don't Go to Calero without minnows this time of year. Fish the submerged islands in 7-20 feet of water.

Report: Fished my usual area of Frank's first thing in morning Saturday. Pitched brush hog on weed points. Lost nice fish in first 5 minutes. Caught smaller one (~1.5 lb) few casts later further down cut. Missed two others on brush hog and switched to cranking tule points. Couple of small fish. Ran to Disco-never been there, still exploring the Delta. Caught two more small fish on blue back/chartreuse Norman Deep diving crankbait. Looking for quality fish, and it just didn't feel right in Disco, so ran back to Mildred. Cranked and pitched middle river in spots, couple of hits, no fish. Cranked SW corner of Mildred, focused on weedlines off tule points inside Mildred, Caught 5 or 6, lost several. These were better fish - up to 2+ lbs for the top 3. Tide change sent me back to Frank's, pitched and cranked Tule walls on east and north side. Caught several, finally found a pattern for larger fish pitching tule points on walls with some current that were near deeper water - no weed clumps out from tules, only bit on points with nothing but tules present. Caught one 5 lber, biggest in Delta to date. Lost a beast 20 yards further down same area, hook opened up, bummer. Caught some more from 2-3 lbs pitching, kept missing fish - double bummer. Cranked some more small ones and went home. Will start using bigger, stronger hooks. Missed a good number of fish on cranks and pitching. No luck on black/red jig with Yamamoto twin tail.

Report: Fished Main body north end in the mornin, couple of bites, nothin to get excited about. Went into Putah Creek, 5 mile an hour area where Ive been getting them in the afternoon, No wind condition, birds weren't workin, nothing happenin, threw Two baits, for 4 hours, Topwater and a spoon, Fished from 30-55ft with the spoon, caught 1 fish in 40ft...skinny fish, big mouth no body wt. Caught two fish with topwater suspended (had to be) in trees. I did not crank at all.
      City: Castro Valley

Tips: I think after 3 trips you have to diffently find the shad and either spoon them or use somekind of reaction bait. The water is starting to cool down some with the colder nights. It should turn on soon.....I hope!!!
