      Water Temp: 70-71

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Brent and I float tubed Calero Friday from about 8:30AM-5PM. Weather was calm, cloudy, and warm untill about noon when the wind picked up. It also rained (!?!?!) on and off for the first few hours. We saw bass busting at shad on the surface, complete with diving birds, but we were never there at the right time. Tried a Splash-It and a Castaic Threadfin Shad where we saw them busting but no takers. We ended up catching a little over 20 bass dragging worms and jigs in deeper, 17-30', water. Nothing over 3 pounds. We couldn't catch anything in water shallower than about 15 feet. There were also some suspended fish, but we didn't go after them. I caught one of them by accident when it grabbed a jig on the fall.
      City: Mountain View

Tips: Fish jigs and worms in natural colors (greens/browns) on the deep end of rocky points.

This lake will test your ishing skills. You cannot be stubborn. I the ish aren't biting what your throwing them you have to move and change until they do. I you cann't get bit in the trees go to the rocks. I white doesn't work switch to dark. I cranks don't work try plastics. Never settle or "they're just not biting today" because I guarantee you somewhere they are.
      City: Roseville

Tips: Right now - Topwater, Pig & Jig, Blades - Find clear water (South is dirty right now) 20 t and up around rocks and scrub brush. I the bite is tough work slow, try dead sticking, or burn or a reaction bite.

No fish on topwater, brown pig and jig worked well on smaller fish.Went with watermelon brush hog in the p.m. and caught the only good fish of the day, a couple of threes. Caught a lot of small fish. Report: Fished out of Holland Tract. Started the early morning with a buzz bait with no luck. Went to flipping and got a couple of dinks (< 1 lb). Decided to try a spinner bait as the tide started to go out, knowing the fish would be moving out of the tules and down to the grass line. Worked really well. Caught over a dozen but nothing over 2lbs! Made for some fun though!

      Water Temp: 67

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the NCBF Turkey Shoot on Sunday out of the Hook. (What a blast) Weather had warmed up a little and the water temp came up a couple of degrees from Saturday. Bite was not good for us on Saturday. However on Sunday it was a different story. Bite improved with the warmer water. Fish were tight to tulie clumps in 3-5 feet of water. Best 2 for me went 8.9 if I remember right. Had a 2.5 that came on a Skitter Pop in the morning and the 4 and 5 came on a Strike King Flippin Tube that was texas riged with a 1/4oz wieght.
      City: Brentwood

Tips: Cold weather is making the bite very unpredictable. Normal summer patters are not working as well as in most years. If your not getting bit try other patterns. If it's hot with no wind try frogs otherwise flip tulies and weed lines.

      Water Temp: mid 70's

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Made it down or some serious night ishing on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The wind never really stopped blowing except or a little bit irst thing in the morning. Sunday, we launched rom behind Rattlesnake and the wind was really blowing so we ished some rock piles and ledges in the evening had some bites but no ish in the boat. Ater several hours the wind started to lay down and we moved up the west bank. We lost a couple more ish but around Glenhaven we inally got two, a 6.0 on a zipper worm and an 8.1 on a spinnerbait, also caught an 11+ catish. landed a ew more smaller ish until sunrise. Monday night we ished over around Konocti bay and only had a ew ish until the moon was up. Last hal o the night produced a couple in the 3-4lb range, a 5, and a 8.5 on smaller worms and big Yammamoto grubs. Found a good spinnerbait bite irst thing in the morning around deeper weed edges at Kono Tayee, several 2-3lbers and a 6.1. Tuesday night we returned to areas we had ound ish beore and landed about 15 bass to 5.5 and 6.0 with another 11+ cat.
      City: Arcata

Tips: Deep rocky areas in the wind produced the bigger ish or us. We started with big worms and brass and glass but didn't get a lot o bites until we went to a more suttle presentation. Use a trailer hook on your spinnerbait at night. The 8lber was barely hooked on one.
