Water Temp: 55 to 57
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out again later in the morning at ~10:30 and fished to ~5:00. I hooked 4 and landed 3 of them which where all keeper size being ~2.0, ~3.0, and the biggest ~5.75 lbs. Landed all these on senko’s and swim baits.
City: HEALDSBURGTips: Fish slowly and be patient while the water keeps warming! Hopefully the colder weather and rain next week doesn't hurt clarity and water temp to much!

Pardee Lake
-
Water Temp: 50-52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I fished beautiful Lake Pardee yesterday with my buddy Mike Sperbeck. We started about 10 am, and was again shocked by the water clarity. I expected this with the lack of rain. We started in the main body with no success, then moved up the river. About 12:30 pm - our first bite and Mike puts a mighty 10 incher in the boat! Boy - that was worth a 2 hr drive!! Well, my attitude changed very quickly as I immediately set on a good fish with my brown/orange Blade Runner jig w/Yamamoto #180 grub trailer. She jumped and Mike yells "there is your 5 lb smallie!" Some of you know I am still trying to land one over 5 - I keep losing them. Again, this one was close at 4 lb 7 oz. A thrill anyway! The bite picked up - after Mike's second 10 incher! He did have last laugh when he landed a 5 1/2 lb largemouth later in the afternoon. Back out in the main body - after thinking about it for awhile, I decided to throw a 6" Basstrix swimbait. One feels like a genius when one catches a 4 lb 2 oz smallie on the first cast of his current thinking. She ate the swimbait! But no more hits on it. We ended the days with 6 bass for Mike and 3 for me with our best 5 around 18 1/2 to 19 lbs. No toads but very successful day.
City: Yuba CityTips: We caught bass both on the bank and off-shore structure - from 10 to 30 feet deep. Mike had several swimbait hits too but only landed one. Fishing might have been better in the late afternoon but the lake went dead-flat calm! That is rare for Pardee. Fishing will probably be pretty good everywhere for a few of these warm days, but weather may change next week and possibly move them off the bank again.

Report: Shore fished at Bidwell marine. Fished roboworms and got 2 spots. 1 16" and a really nice 17 1/2". Guessing the large one was about 3 pounds, maybe a tad less. This has been my largest fish caught in this lake. Fish slow, bits very soft, so pay very close attention. Anyone looking for a fish partner, let me know. Available most any time.

Eastman Lake

Water Temp: n/a
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Jig bite is still working well in depth of 15 to 35 fett. The bigger bass are hold on or around isolated structure in the 25 to 35 foot range.also i gone from tossing arkie and football head jigs to now throwing bullet head jigs. Changing skirt designs and adding the right yamamoto trailers matching the jigs color has made a big difference in putting the bigger fish the boat. BBT tournament trail is there march 9th. I would think it would take 19 pounds or better to win the tournament. Ill be bowling a tournament that saturday and fishing hensley lake on sunday. Kenny let me know when your headed up too the lake ill drive up and bring you some jigs and yamamoto trailers to match. i only live 15 minutes from the lake and i will point out some areas to hit that will be holding fish. Weather going too warm this coming week.

Amador Lake
-
Water Temp: 50-52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I fished here for the first time this year, after eating one of Laurie Lockhart's wonderful patty melts at the lodge. I started fishing about 4 pm and caught a 2 pounder right away on a jig. I threw a Huddleston 8" swimbait for awhile and had a big hit, but lost the bass after 10 seconds. Caught a small bass and then a 3 1/2 - all on jigs. This was in the Jackson Creek arm. Overall, kinda slow. After dark I had the lake to myself, but the bass showed no respect. I didn't have a hit bite for about 2 1/2 hrs and was about to leave. I decided to hit 1 or 2 points in the Carson arm before leaving, using a black/blue Netbait paca craw. I got absolutely hammered by a nice fish an 3 minute or so battle was on. I won!! She went 6 1/2 lbs even and is now on display in the aquarium at the lodge. They will release her next week. I finished at the dam - landing another 2 1/4 lb bass. As always - good fish makes the long trip worthwhile!!
City: Yuba CityTips: I really didn't have enough action to give many tips. In Feb and March - jigs always work at Amador, as do swimbaits if you have the patience. I saw a 14 lb trout weighed in and bass don't eat them. Actually - maybe they hide from them!!

Diamond Valley Lake
-
Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 6:30 till mid afternoon and bite was decent. Threw jigs most of the morning with pretty good results, four fish to three pounds on Johnny C's California Resevoir jigs that Matt had turned me onto at Last Chance Bait and Tackle in Hemet. Decided to go try and find a bigger bite so we started throwing swimbaits and we ended up catching two more; one about 4.5 and the other a 9.3; River to Sea S-Wave 6". Best three went 16.79 and would have had about 22 lbs for five.
Jigs on rocky points early and reaction when the wind comes up later in the day.
City: Desert Hot SpringsTips: Johnny C's California Resevoir Lure jigs in natural colors you can get them at Last Chance Bait and Tackle.
Swim bait is hit and miss, we just hit it right that day but it was our only two swim bait bites in four days of fishing.

McClure Lake
-
Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Tough fishing. A lot of fishing pressure, must have been over 100 boats out there. A boat at just about every spot we went to fish. Caught 2 spotted bass up to 2lbs on jigs, both in around 50 feet of water. Saw other people catch a fish here and there. My partner and most other people were catching on small roboworms.
Tips: Fish slow. Most the time you can't even feel the bite, just dead weight.

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 48-50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Mike Sperbeck and I fished the south end Thursday afternoon. Windy again and difficult to fish. We caught 4 in late afternoon that went a little over 20 lbs. All soft plastic baits - about 15 to 20 feet. I wuz beaten by .01 of a pound!! His biggest was 5.80 and mine was 5.79. Bummer! We fished after dark for about 2 hrs - no bites. Left for McDonalds and some HOT coffee!!
City: Yuba CityTips: Sure can't complain about the size of the bass. They are eating something! All 4 bass were caught in a different area - unlike some previous trips. The bites seemed a bit more aggressive this time - probably because the water is a tad warmer - er, less cold!!!

Oroville Lake
-
Water Temp: mid -high 40's
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished with variety of baits, no response on reaction baits. And you would think that there is no bite on finesse baits unless you really watched the line. Lot of bites came off in about 20-30 feet inside any coves, off those roboworms and jigs. Fished for only 3 hours, released over 15 basses, all chunky and fat. Between 2 lbs to 3 1/2 lbs, nothing less or more.
City: ParadiseTips: Fish real really slow, and watch your line!
