      Water Temp: 49 to 50.1

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished a couple of hours right before sunset. Mainly wanted to get the boat in shape as it was the first time out in 6 months. 0 reaction bite so I went to my confidence lure on this lake, Green Pumpkin Seed Hula Grub. Caught two clone 1/2 pounders dragging. First was a light bite the second aggressive. Dock talk mentioned that the bite will get hot soon, due to the warming stable conditions. The lake is having it's annual Tourney on 02/23/13.
      City: W.Sac

Tips: Fish slow. Listening to msic on my Ipod helped me slow down. No reaction bite drag for a small limit.

      Water Temp: 48-52

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went over to konocti bay today in search of prespawners. Was suprized at how many fish i spooked out of the tullies. Picked up the jerk-bait rod and instantly got a few interested. I watched a 6+ take my bait! That was it fot sight fishing for the day beacuse the sun went down and i couldent see em anymore. Went back to jones and fished rock piles with jigs and swims and managed a limit. Not bad for 4 hours in winter
      City: lower lake

Tips: Jig bite is defently picking up, just drag it slow and steady. 5 inch swims have been working for me all winter. Have fun!

Report: Fished out of Lime Saddle today. Launched about 8am, off the water at noon. Slow fishing. Got 2 spots, one 15", one 14 1/2". Both on roboworms. Again, got 1 trout on a roboworm!!! I think they are trout. Silvery sides, green backs. Does anyone know what they are.

Fish slow, both fish picked up the worms super light, no real normal tap like feel of a bite.

Cold and slow fishing. Ton's of wood on the water.

      Water Temp: 47 to 49

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Look for swimbait fish shallow early in the morning. 7" osprey linethru's and 6" R-Macs in Ghost trout and Ghost purple trout have been the ticket. After around 9:30 in the morning the bite has been on brown and purple jig's, green pumpkin senko's and dartheaded 6" Mojave oxblood and purple ghost worms in the 23' to 35' range. If there is wind in the afternoon look for a spinnerbait bite on white with double white willow blades or charteuse and white with a nickel colorado blade and a gold willow blade

      Water Temp: 48-50

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: After taking my Brother in law and his Brother in law (up from SoCa) to Clear Lake the day before they were told today would be quanity not quality. I rigged them with very light spinning tackle using small plastics. They both got their fill of 1-2# fish and some "dinks" thrown in. Wind in the early am was a little strong from the west then switch to the north and calmed down a bit. Bite was better, and the best fish came in the afternoon. I guess that's normal this time of the year. Lake still has some stain but not enough to stop them from spotting the bait!
      City: Roseville

Tips: Fish your favorite spots with your favorite lures but make sure it's slow. Fish seemed to want it almost stopped except a couple of stupid "teenagers" that bit on the reel up. See everyone on the 23rd!

Report: Spent the day fishing sun baked banks and we were able to catch a nice mix of largemouth, smallmouth, spots and two nice trout. Water Temp: 50-54*

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Haven't put out a report in a while cause I just had a baby and not had too much time to fish. I'm just glad I can still find and locate fish on a winter pattern. I launched out of paradise and fished for about 4hrs and zilch on any sort of reaction baits like rip baits or chatter baits (even on rock walls mid day, I figured warmer water temps from rocks so more active fish) but my buddy and I had a pretty good jig and senko bite. The fish seem to be holding at around 6-8 ft and you just gotta cast and drag if yah jig fishing (brown and purple best color for us we found) and your typical senko fishing (cast let it sink, pop pop pause and repeat) the wacky rig senko did seem to get more bites than a regular t rig. ( watermelon red and black and blue worms) all in all 11 fish for 4hrs and almost all were cookie cutter 1.5-2lbers.
      City: Stockton

Tips: Don't sight fish cover, fish are holding Deeper and you have to adjust accordingly. Bites even on the high tide are on the outside of the weed line, yah don't have to fish super slow just be patient and the bites will come.

      Water Temp: 48

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Invited my Brother in law and his Brother in law up for a day at Clear Lake and one at CFW. The fishing (minnows) was steady with about 20 for us. Smallest about 2.5# Most in the 3-4 range. On the first spot my Brother in law got his personal best 5+ His previous was a 1.5# Oroville monster. His Brother in law had never caught a bass until he got a 3+ at the 3rd spot we fished. Now the pressure was off me as both had caught bass. Well my Brother in law's Brother in law (huh?) grabbed the largest minnow in the live well and said "I'm going to catch a bit one with this" About 2 minutes later he said "I think I have one" When I heard the drag singing I said yup you do. Well after I saw color, I knew he had bested his PB already as she came in at 10.2#

How's that for your first bass trip? A life time fish in just about 2 hours of fishing!
      City: Roseville

Tips: No brainer, just get some of those great minnows from Jimmy at Clearlake Bait & Tackle, find some rocks in 15-30 feet and hang on!

      Water Temp: 49

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Left Fresno at 4:30 am, stopped in Turlock for coffee and $100 in gas for the boat, out of Ladds 7am, fished Mandeville, Mildred areas. threw topwater, swimbaits, jerkbaits, 6" senkos in two different colors, 5" senkos in two different colors, texas rigged 6" and 4" paddletail worms in two different colors, each, traps in both red craw and shad colors, blades in chartreus white with, chrome willow leafs, brass willow leafs, chrome colorado blades, brass colorado blades, one chrome willow leaf and brass colorado combination and one brass willow leaf with chrome colorado blade combos, jigs with craw trailers, craw trailers without jig skirts, used fast retrieve, slow retrieve, hopped the lures, drug the lures, soaked the lures, I stared at my tackle boxes full of lures for short periods of time, long periods of time, moved them from one locker to another and even tried a piece of peanut butter and jelly sandwich on a treble hook. off the water by 2pm. Not one, thats right, not one single bite all day. Not for me, my partner or the dude in the gorgeous new Ranger we spoke to. The only saving grace was my partner just got his concealed carry permit, so i felt completely safe from pissed off bank fishermen, illegal aliens and all forms of piracy.
      City: fresno

Tips: Save your peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for yourselves. That didnt work either.

      Water Temp: 56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the day after opening. Fishing was terrible. Trouser trout fishermen posted up on all the main lake points. Couldn't make the casts that would have caught the fish. I fish this lake at least 4 times a month. This is the worst it's been in the last 6 years. Threw everything in the boat at em! Cranks, Jerks, Jigs, swimbaits, dropshot....only bite I got was dropshotting a 6 inch senko. If you're thinking about going out here don't! Stay home until april when the water temp starts to heat up. I did hear people talking about a blue and white Nitro out there on opening day slaying em? Couple guys said they saw him hucking 5 lb spots outta his livewell at the end of the day.....After my experience I think they're full of it. I usually boat at least 10 spots each outing...it's just terrible right now.
      City: dublin

Tips: Stay home until the water temp warms up. If you see a Z8 blue and yellow nitro out there with a 250 on the back watch out! He almost ran me over!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: jigs and drop shots off humps and points. moving on to something i read on one of the fishing reports addressing the future pro at clearlake. i fished anglers-choice, BBT, and future pro tour and i can say this all three circuits care about the handling of the fish, and it's a shame that the other two would bad mouth the future pro tour in order to gain another boat or two. the message that should get out is that it's the responsibility of the anglers in the events who bare the blame for those dead fish due to poor fish handling onboard there boats after the catch, and after the weigh in, not going the required distant to release the fish since the live release boat never showed up. And yes thats my name on this report as i don't hind behind my monitor, i stand by my words. happy fishing.
      City: sacramento

Tips: move often until you find the right point or hump.

      Water Temp: 46-49

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Since last Friday's bite was pretty good for us, Mike Sperbeck and I decided to try again! This time lady luck (skill!! - LOL) decided to smile on me! We launched out of Red Bud at 4 pm and found post-front wind - quite bad. We moved up to areas we could hide a bit on the west side, catching 5 from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 lbs before dark. We were using small beavers and Berkley Havoc baits. As I tell all my clients - the bite after dark is dead for an hour or so. NOT so last night - at least for me - about time! I was trying a NetBait plastic thing in blue/black color. I missed a nice hit at first. Then, shortly after, my Flame Green Fireline just got tight. I set on instinct and immediately thought - catfish - all the way to the net. She was big - all 9 lbs 9oz of her. BUT, no whiskers - she was a bass - WOW! My biggest in 2 years. We put her in the livewell in case of a double photo. Five minutes later, the second subject of the photo picked up my bait and she added 6 lbs 10 oz to the photo. I was pretty stoked about 2 bass for over 16 lbs. Reminded me of the old days at Clear Lake. That was it - and we bounced our way back to Red Bud about 11 pm. One loves his Ranger 521 the most during those rides!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: All of our bass were around the 20 foot depth - nothing shallow. These big fish can take a bait so soft - rod sensitivity is everything in the winter!! As last trip, we were fishing off-shore broke rock fields as best we could in the wind. One needs to keep their line tighter that normal this time of year. Dead-stick is the structure will allow it. Water needs to get around 53-56 degrees to be the bass a little most active.
