Report: Started fishing actually on Friday night @ Spanish Flat campground. Cast a Nightcrawler in , by our campsite , and left the pole alone for about 2 hours while I set up camp , ate , etc... Decided to check my bait ..........and had some trouble bringing the bait in .......figured I had a " Stick Fish " .........but it turned out to be a 8 lb Carp, it didn't even fight , it was just dead weight, I figured it was dead , until I started to take out the hook , with my worm still more or less in tact......... he came alive ......I threw him back ....so he's still there ! Saturday , 4 / 15 / 2000 , we rented a boat and cruised over by the " Free Boat Launch @ Capell Cove and quickly got into 3 really nice Rainbows.......left there to try to troll for salmon out in the middle of the lake.....Didn't have the right setup ( No down riggers ) , but snagged a Rainbow with a Rattletrap ( hook was in his left front fin ) afterwards ......called it a day .......Not as good as a day as I've had @ berryessa before, but was decent anyhow.
City: Walnut CreekTips: Use Rainbow "Kastmasters " , Nightcrawlers , and Chartrese glitter powerbait

Report: I fished the WestCoast Bass Future Pro and did horrible. I had 3.28lbs while the winner in division one had 8lbs I think and division two had 9lbs for winning wieght. I was doing everything wrong, until 30 minutes before weigh in I started to split shot blue ghost magic worms. I got three fish in that 30 min. Only one was a keeper. The other two were 12.5 inches and 12.5 inches. The winners were throwing worms too. I also caught one throwing a blade. I hope to do better at Folsom next month. Tight Lines
City: SacramentoTips: Most guys were fishing in Putah Creek and down by the Narrows. I wasn't draging the worm either, I just threw it out in front of the boat between 12 and 22 feet deep and worked it back to the boat like a texas rig. Morning Dawn is also a good color. Good Luck!

Report: Had a great day on the water. Prefished Sat. for Sunday
Tips: For me, they seemed to key on red. The bite varied with every fish. Some would smack it hard and others would be a pressure bite. When you feel your bait go over a rock, get ready.

Report: Thurday mornin until Noon, picked up 6 fish to 2lbs on Jigs (Black 1/4oz/Junebug tail (Craw)). No dinks. 15-40ft. Pattern: Rocky area's on the westside of the main lake area. Pope and Putah creeks or anything that has a major flow is Mud to stained. Friday the 18th didn't start until 11 in the mornin, the bite on Jigs was tougher had to work for the fish. Bounced and released 4 keeper's on jigs. Both day's didn't try worms didn't won't too. Talked to some fisherman that were up and they had fish going on rocky area's of the lake, but were catching them on everything. Cranks,Worms,Jigs.
City: Castro ValleyTips: I would recommend finding clear water still for at least a week, there's more rain commin in and the lake has risen at least 5ft. Pattern's i would recommend 1/4 to 3/8 jigs with a blue tailer, until 10 in the mornin. then switch over to a worm, watermelon or Witches T's will work..For you cranker's HMMmmmmmmmmmm. Fish are still on rocks and main points but not in back of the coves in numbers...Going back up about Tues or Wedne.. I'll send in a report then.. Soft bite..........Pauseeeeeeeeeeeee Hookpoint

Report: Fished the south end for two days. Friday afternoon went to the east bank above Spanish flat, dropshoted a few smallies off rock piles in 25 to 30 ft. Then fished skiers canyon, used brass and glass on isolated structure in 30 ft for spots. Caught 7 fish total, all in the 2 lb. range. Saturday went straight to Skiers Canyon and caught 3 more spots best was 2.5 lbs. Tried big Island, no luck there. Went back to Spanish flat area for more smallies and caught 2 more. Fished the narrows for one fish. Caught one more Spot in a cove above skiers Canyon.
City: TracyTips: First time on this lake and used only one bait on both days, purple grub on dropshot and brass'n'glass. 20 to 30 feet with isolated structure and deep water close by was the key for me. Really enjoyed fishing this lake and I'll be back.

Report: We planned to hit the lake early Saturday morning and be off the water by 11:00 AM to avoid the skiers and Lake Lice. Got to the ramp at 5:00AM but had to wait about half an hour while some nimrod practiced launching his boat. Finally got underway. Our first stop was a favorite cove, where we immediately found fish chasing bait. First cast with a fluke produced a nice 2 1/2 lb. smallie. Next cast a small largemouth of about 1 1/4 lbs. I had been watching some deer on the bank when I made my next cast, just long enough to take my eyes off of the bait. The fluke no sooner hit the water and we heard a hugh splash and my rod was damn near pulled from my hand, by the time I realized what was happening the fish was gone. Real Toad! Then the bite turned-off, so we went up north but only caught one 2 lb. largemouth. Then returned to our starting point and the bite was on again! We caught a few more 1 1/2 - 2 lb'ers. I caught a nice 3 1/2 largemouth, but unfortunately she swallowed my fluke and when I set the hook I ripped her throat real bad, she was swimming on her side when I tried to release her, so I kept her.( I know it was a female because she had two skeins of imature roe in her when I cleaned her. When the sun hit the water the fish stopped chasing bait and the fluke bite died, so we moved down the bank and started shot'n worms. My partner and I caught and released about ten fish in the next hour all of which were 1 1/4 to 2 1/2 lbs, except for a 6 lb. Channel Cat that bit my Witches Tit worm. As planned, we were on our way to the dock at 11:00AM just as the Lake Lice were taking over the lake. Nothing like having four or five quality hours of fishing and then being home in time for lunch.
City: BeniciaTips: Flukes or top waters when fish are chasing bait. Splitshot (as light as possible ) your favorite worm later in the day.

Report: Fished this lake for the first time. Surprised at how many others had the same idea. By noon any submerged tree providing a lick of shade had 2 or 3 boats around it. Or so it seemed.
Only managed one small LM each but saw a lot of fish gouped up on the graph anywhere from 10' to 40'
City: ChicoTips: I could use some.

Report: first off, stop fighting and arguing, second it is not your business if one chooses to catch and keep or even release, if you have a license you are entitled to do what you want (within reason and morals). second you have no right to be a fishing Nazi, mind your own business, and let people fish the way they choose. also we don
Tips: Fish to have fun, enjoy your self, an respect nature & the enviorment.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: to austin, pay you'r dues and figure it out your self. If you catch a fish in the spring put it back where you caught it so it can finish making its babies.
Tips: practice catch and release and people may give better info for the sometimes tuff bite this time of year with the changing conditions.
