      Water Temp: 70-72

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out from 7am to 12:30. Caught several fish all one pounders all on shad crankbaits: Fat free shad, Speed trap and a wiggle wart. Fish were suspended and caught in about 8' - 10' of water. No bites on spinnerbait, drop shot or senkos. It was overcast in the morning which burned off around 10 and it was breezy all morning. Lots of fisherman out but not a lot of catching.

Tips: Replace stock trebles off cranks with premium treble hooks.

      Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Congrats to Joe Miller and partner on tourney win last weekend (previous report)! Last night I again guided 2 of the 3 previous guys from my last trip with them a week or so ago. They couldn't get enough of Clear Lake in one trip!! We started at 4:30 pm out of Red Bud and found the bite to be very slow. I was trying to see if the D&M Piranha swim jig was working and stuck one over 5 lbs right away. The client new to bass fishing got a keeper right after on a brush hog. Good start I thought! Wrong!! The next 7 or so hours were weird. Perfect night weather, good water and air temp with maybe too calm water. We all hooked and lost fish after fish - nearly the whole trip. A few good fish were landed - and get this- first time - NO dinks. Maybe winter is here. We were going to fish 'til 12:30 am. Finally - at 12:15 am - the BIG event happened! The client that caught all the good fish on the last trip sets up on a fish with his newly installed 10" Berkley Power worm - I think red shad color. I only had my Oroville net since I lost the bigger one a while back and the new one isn't here yet. I looked at that fish in the black light and said to myself "Oh No!" I did get her in the net on the first try and then yelled "OH YES!!!!". She went 8 lbs 2 oz! His 5 biggest bass in the last 2 trips with me are a little over 26 lbs. Great Client, har!! He doesn't mess with "them" small guys!! At 12:32 we started back to the ramp - photo shoot done and big bass swiming away saying "what happened?"
      City: Yuba City

Tips: I guess my tip is "never give up" - and my clients didn't. They were self contained and used their own baits. The bass were equally unimpressed with anything we threw. I had 2 big bass nail the swim jig - I set - nothing! Clients same experience! With Manny's big fish, our 5 best were nearly the same as Joe Miller's tourney weight - about 25 3/4 lbs. Most action was 10 to 25 feet. Nothing shallow in spite of no moon.

Report: Was out about an hour on the float tube. Wacky rigged senko on a 1/16 darthead snagged me a 3 pounder. Water is nice and clear here in the south end of the lake. But its the same old story, fish slow, or just bring a case off beer and a can of worms and then its always a good day.
      City: K-ville

Tips: Back in the fishing game and looking for fellow float tubers to fish, Clear Lake, Highland Springs, and Lake Mendo.

      Water Temp: 79-80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: OK, anyone that is fishing Clear Lake may say 4 plus foot of vis, yes if you move the 1/16 inch to 2 inch thick algae on the top of the water the water under neath is very clear :)You can find water with out aglae but you have to look for it, in fact up north on Hwy 20's side it was very clear. Ok lets get to fishing,I found fish in 1 to 3 foot of water up next to rock, it was hard to believe that 1 to 3.5 lb bass were feeding on those tiny silver fish but they were. The bite was getting better and better as the week went on from what I heard, I would says this week end should be good before the new moon, I don't want to give out to much info because I think my self and one of my kids may start fishing a tourney now and than but I will say small plastics in dark colors were the ticket for my 6 fish to 3.5 lbs in 3 hrs of fishing 8/14.
      City: San Jose

Tips: Don't be afraid of the algae, in fact fish it, the fish are using it for cover and that is why I was catching fish in 1-3 ft of water when there was 30 plus feet right next to it mid day in August on a lake, you would think you were fishing the Delta. Take a Kid fishing !!

      Water Temp: 58-62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: The spawn is in full swing at Clear Lake with the water temps from 58 to 62, a few days of warm weather should bring another wave of fish up.

The pre-post spawn bite has been good for me using Jigs Soft Plastics and Swim Baits fished in staging areas with some fish from 5 to 8 pounds and a bunch of 3 to 4 pounders.

Look for the top water bite to pick up soon
      City: Clear Lake

Tips: For me the key is to slow down and fish every piece of heavy cover flippin and pitchin shallow or fish swim baits, soft plastics and jigs in the staging areas for the pre-post spawners.

      Water Temp: 65-69

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: We fished Sunday evening on the 9th after we checked in and got settled! About four hours which produced five fish in the three and a half to five pound range! Drop shot (2), Jigs's (1) and Senko's (2)!

We quickly found that if it moved they would not hit it! Dead sticking was the only thing that would work! ...

Monday was the weather day from Hell! Cold, Rain, Hail, and the brutal North wind that turns Clear Lake into the sea from Deadliest Catch!!! :) We still managed 10 nice fish which turned out to be the best day with a five fish limit of 20-25 #'s even though we wussed out and went in in the early afternoon frozen!!!

Tuesday With the High Pressure we only managed four fish!

Wednesday was a very nice day with temps around 75 in the afternoon and we connected with 8 fish!

Thursday was hot with afternoon temps in the low 80's but we could only catch three fish for the day with the biggest at 6#'s!!

We had a great time with no problems at all, just wish that the fishing would have been a bit better!! We talked to several tackle stores and all said the same,, "The bite has been tough!

All fish came from dropshot and wacky Senko's on my part with two on a 4" Paddletail swimbait! My partner caught all of his on a texas rigged Senko!
      City: Lakeside

Tips: For us, if it moved they wouldn't touch it, but that was right after the cold front!

      City: lower lake

Tips: If your fishing in the daylight hours just brake down and drag shiners.(somthing I rarely do) nightime is easy to catch em on swims and jigs.
