Report: So you would have made the decision to break the law and submit a tainted catch for consideration for one of the most revered records in the fishing world. I'd rather see a bank angler hook it in the mouth using natural bait, have it wieghed on a certified scale, get the record, and eat the fish for dinner if that is what he or she chose to do with the LEGALLY caught bass.....

Tips: Unethical behavior hurts all outdoors enthusiasts....Play within the rules!!!!

Report: Hey Zack...can we watch the language, kids read this forum.....What happened to sportsmanship and ethics??? Your comment represent attitudes that hurt all outdoors enthusiasts....Is it okay to tresspass if you are after a record book buck? What if you think there is a record bluegill in someones pond, is it okay to go on thier land and pull a gill net through the pond? What the heck there is a world record at stake.....The big bass was snagged. The regs dictate that all snagged fish reguardless of size are to be released immediatly, not put on a stringer, not taken to a dock and not photographed.....Read the regs....those guys are lucky that didn't get a citation....Maybe one is on the way.....This is a country of laws....When hunters and anglers violate game laws they hurt all of us by giving ammo to the anti's.....
      City: Elkton

Tips: FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!! A RECORD MEANS NOTHING IF YOU HAVE TO CHEAT!!!!!!!!

Report: Rick everything you said highlights the worst part of our sport. In your way of thinking the end justifies every thing leading up to it. What if the fish had been speared? Gill netted?? Stunned with an M-80???
The fish was snagged. The regulations state that a snagged fish is to be released "immediatly". When you get down to brass tacks the angler in question actually broke the law by putting the bass on a stringer, transporting it and dance around with it on the dock. Who would want to see the world record broken by a catch that was so obviously tainted???? From the sound of things it sounds like he was lucky not to get a citation.....
      City: Elkton

Tips: Follow the laws and conduct yourself in an ethical manner. There is no record worth sacraficing your integrity for....

Report: Launched out of Blue Oaks about 4:00pm, started out throwing shad colored blade and rip bait(pointer/ghost); nothing.
