Report: Got there about 7:30 AM. Fished until 1 PM. Went all the way to the end o the dam and all the way down the path. There were 3 in my group, all using night crawlers. I caught 2 Black Bass. A 14" 2 LBS spawning emale and a smaller one. No keepers. No one else got anything. Harrased by at least 3 Park Rangers...watch out. Heard they were catching big ones on the other side o the lake in the shallows. I never went. maybe next time.

Report: Delvalle is not really a stronge lake for anything but trout and bluegill. Balck bass hit and miss. Stripers good luck. THe water is very warm right now so the fish are deep. The inspection is for only if you have a boat. No standing water or any water in your boat. Make sure youor lower unit is dry dry dry. I think the inspection is about $6-$7. Del valle can be a really good lake but it is tough in the summer weather.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: I mainly fished for trout, fished from 7:00-1:00. The only thing we hooked up was one small trout that i cought walking the banks near the dam on a kastmaster, hook came out of his lip right before i could bring him on the beach. Through a spinner around for a while with no action. But early in the morning the trout were jumping everywhere, you couldnt look around without seeing fish jump, good sized fish too.

Report: Got to the launch ramp around 9am and took a 10 minute run to my first spot. Started drop shotting with a 4 inch flat tail at 40-50 foot. Took about 20 minutes to pattern the fish and from there til I left was nailing them. Had to leave around 2pm and by then I had 24 fish, 6 smallies and the rest LM. Biggest was 4.05 and my best 5 was around 14lbs.

Report: Hey JCAB, I called the OEHHA in Oakland after I saw the posters in Lake Del Valle two weeks ago, there was a study done on four bay area counties, do not know which lakes, but chabot and del valle were tested, (also shadow cliffs but they could not get a good sample). Alameda county did not want to wait for an official report from OEHHA and decided to post flyers about mercury (the other counties agreed to wait), OEHHA will come out later once all the results are finalized in a couple of months (not sure). Basically the person told me mercury affects the nervous system, so developing children and pregnant woman should not eat a lot of fish, older men are not affected by it as much. Report: I dont think this lake is all that great of a place to catch bass. If you wanna catch some bass go to Shadow Cliffs and fish the back ponds. What also sux about del valle is that the boat patrol just stops every frickin boat there is that pasts by him. ITs ridiculous.

Tips: Go Somewhere else this lake is ok

Report: We hit the water yesterday around 12pm to under overcast skies and o&on rain. Water level is extremely low, be careul through the narrows, lots o shore ishing o the points and anchored boats. We hit the walls down the narrows and caught 2.5lb rainbow and a nice 2lb largemouth. My sister hooked on to a good size largemouth, but lost it when it outsmarted her playing in a submerged tree. Saw some good size trout in a ew boats, not very many limits. Lots o boats on the water, but it was good un.
