Report: The largemouth bass are stacked @ the drop-offs along with a ton of bait fish. they are pretty tight lipped. Changed gears to smallmouth. Could see on the surface after the sun was out for a while. Hooked into one in about 2 feet of water. & that was it , just one. bbbrrrrr. it's cold on the lake right now... dress warm.

Tips: Caught my one and only on a 1/2/0z. chartreuse w/ gold dbl. willow blades spinnerbait. Probably would have caught more if i would have stuck w/ it. But, it's a pattern I'll try more next next I get on the water.

Report: Took two times out to find a pattern. Getting hard to fish after work. Need to go with a proven plan to catch some in what little time you have. Mid -lake - West side of the lake. In the eve. lots of fish feeding. Try a small floating crank bait. Lizard slow dragin' worked too before sunset. THANKS Rich for the tip.

Report: I have never fished lake mendocino. I have some fishing buddies coming in from Washington on the 18th. We plan to fish Clearlake BUT thought it would be a nice change to fish over on Mendocino for one of the days.

Can any of you share some tips about fishing for stripers there at Mendo??? What should we throw? What is the best area to fish for stripers? Should we throw rattletraps or can we use plastic like we do for Largemouth? What are the limits (number of fish and size) to keep? (one or two fish? 16" minimum??)

      thanks in advance

Report: We caught and released several large mouth bass. They were on the small side, but still a lot o un. Spinners in white and crank bait in craw patterns were the most successul. One striper made it in the boat at 34 inches! I'm not sure o the weight. I estimate 15 to 20 pounds. My 8lb. scale bottomed out quickly. The mouth o the creek kept us busy in the evening. There were too many skiers to ish during the day.

Tips: I'm new to the area. I someone out here has tips on getting on the bigger bucketmouths, I'd enjoy some nuggets o ino. to work with.

Report: fished there for about 3 hours and caught nothing....big surprise. In 3 hours tried just about for everything, trout, bass even catfish. saw 1 guy pull out a carp that was as dirty as the lake. this lake is complete and utter crap and a long time ago, it was worth fishing at.
      City: san francisco

Tips: Dont fish here unless your a carp/goldfish fiserman and if u do happen to catch an edible fish, throw it back, cuz its most likely infected with sum killer parasite.
