Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Bank fish in island pond on a fine morning. Action okay in the shade of the trees in shallow water. Fished a texas rig tube and caught a few, 2-4#s. Green pumpkin, 1/8oz bullet, 2/0 hp hook on 8lb line. I didn't cast farther than 15ft, let the tube sink to the bottom and crawled it. I think they hit when I hopped it. Good luck to all fishing here.
Tips: If its bright, bring shades. I tried a small spinner, and some cranks but no hits, but i'm not really sure how to use them since i'm rookie. Any tips on how to use them here will surely be appreciated by all.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Dear Bass Rokkie? If you you want to rip some bigger bass consistently you have to get off the bank and out on the water, in a tube, boat or whatever, besides, all of those trout fishermen on the main lake and all of the dogs in the back only have a limited access and the bass know it . I'm not for one minute suggesting that big bass can't be caught from the bank, I may have even done once or twice myself. For me, getting out on the water, away from people and other distractions has, over the years, enabled me to focus on the relevent and tune out all of the irrelevent which is ususally a waste of the valuble daylight hours that you can fish here(legally...) Get yourself a float tube and some fins, soak up some of the Zen that is pretty much everywhere out there BUT on the bank and pay attention to what works and what doesn't, the time of day & year, water temp, moon phase, local forage, etc., etc.... it's not inconcievable that you could figure out that entire place in a season. Good luck young jedi...

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Anyone not fishing last saturday missed out. Fished from bank. Bass were crazy, hitting small spinnerbaits (chartreuse, white; tandem blades)and 5" watermelon senkos (as soon as it hit the water). Got some good ones on finesse tackle- tough fight especially with the grass, had to pull on the line to drag 'em out. Anyone know if there's shad or bluegill or sunfish? How deep is it around the float tube entrance in island pond? Where's the deepest part of the arroyo? Do bass bite trout plugs in the main lake, and if so can you share some hotspots? If you have an idea post it plz. Thanks. You rule!
Bass rule!Tips: I just cast towards bubbles on the surface. Sometimes you can see ripples

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Nope you cant get in trouble for fishing the island pond. The island is supposed to be the better one of the two ponds. Ive talked to people who worked there while just getting into the pond to do some fishing and they have never told me that you cant fish it. So there ya go....
City: Morgan HillTips: Ive found that you can catch tons of bass in the weeds in the arroyo by the tulles. Try using watermelon candy brush hogs or watermelon senkos texas rigged.

Water Temp: warm
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: im new to the lake ( and fishing too) but i've had some luck. I fished the island pond for the first time and I was lucky- caught a 3 or 4#er on the first cast. moved further down and got another one. Me and my bud moved to the other pond where i caught a small one on a buzzbait and missed a BIG one a little later. We moved down to where my friend was catching some the day before. The buzzbait bite was gone so i switched to an old school jitterbug, casted and bam! I didnt get a bass but my first 1/2 or 1# green sunfish. it ate the whole treble. My bud got another 2#er.
Tips: senkos in watermelon, white buzzes. maybe try a popper if there is no wind. Good Luck!

Water Temp: ----
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Time o day dictates what size leader, and what depth I throw the Drop-shot. The ish are up shallow and active in the morning, so I'll throw it shallow (2-5 eet) until the sun hits the water. When the sun hits the water, my approach changes and I'll throw it on deeper structure (points and drop-os) that lead into deep water. Keep your leader long enough to where your bait will be above the weeds, even i you have to go 3 eet or more. Hope this helps...Andy
City: LivermoreTips: Throwing rogs, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits have never produced or me out there in the backlakes. That doesnt mean that they won't work, but stick to plastics, and change colors and baits until you ind out whats workin.
