      Report: Caught 2 Really Nice Keepers On Rainbow Trout Spook,Did Not Weigh Them As I Did Not Want To Stop As I Was Catching Bass Almost Every Cast For A Short Period Of time Good Fishing To All.

      Report: FOM Christian Sportsman Clubs held their monthly tournament out of packers we launched at 6:30 and wighed in at midnight. Most teams reported very few fish after dark. Jimmy Zanottelli won the boater side using dart head worms and a swim bait. Tony Thomasy was second using crankbaits. Eric Parkin was first in the coangler division using crank baits.

      Report: The Sac arm is a very good fishery as well. ( I look at each arm as a different lake all together ) I have had great success fishing the verticle walls and points on the Sac. Lost of good points on this arm. Take a look at the gooseneck area on your map. Get one if you dont have one. Lots of clay and pebble bank on the obrien arm and its full of smallmouth. The water is generaly claerer on the Sac arm. Try jerks, rips and spinnerbaits if you have some wind putting a chop on the water. The fish will come out of the depths to hit. If no wind, I like to fish finesse baits. Drop shot, jigged or texas rigged 4-6 inch worms in blue ghost, pumpkin and chartuze have done very well for me. Good luck to you.

      Report: will be going to shasta in June for a week on a houseboat, wondering where a few good places would be to fish and what lures would you recommend

      Report: launched @ antlers 7 am. the water around the ramp looked like chocolate milk. i was soon surprised the water had cleaned up around the turn at sugarloaf.today i was out for trout . i figured i would start the day way up in the back coves looking for bait and seeing if i could get a couple on kastmasters. i soon figured out that this was going to harder than i thought . all day i caught bass after bass after bass. the bass we thick up in the rushing water of the creeks coming into the lake. all in all i got a nice limit of trout up to 20 inches and a eaey limit of fat bass up to 3 lbs that i released. not bad for throwing a kastmaster all day.

      Tips: bass and trout holding up in the fast current of incoming creeks and spillways....

      Report: caught 5 nice keepers on the new broken back spook and matching trailer 9 colors or styles you figure out the one working. they are the best topwater I have ever used. all 5 were over 3lbs. I Have 3 Different colors and the rest on backorder.all 3 colors caught fish.

      Tips: the broken backs are hard to get even though they are made in shasta county.I had to order them out of state I have given as much info as I dare as to not disturb the natural flow of the water.I head to oroville to try them next.get a big net as you will get quite a workout,action is incredible.

      Report: pics comming soon. once i figure out how to use this computer.......i'll be out sat. looking for another whopper. fished the other day before it rained. fish were all good size 3 lbs and up. looks like the big ones are finally coming in close. the flux in water levels hasn't helped that out any. anyways fishing was great and can't wait to get out there sat morning

      Report: I went back and read Johnny Mac's other posts here and I don't see how anybody in their right mind can say he was advertising......His posts say alot more about lake conditions than Butcher that's for sure. We don't need butcher here........

      Report: thank you doc for standing up for mr. mac i know he is the kind of man who would just want people to have a good time on the water. as for the other people who jumped to the conclusions that he was advertising, take it easy, why not say something about the lake when it is as good as it is right now.

      Report: hey no joke on that monster female. i do underwater photography. i have been taking pictures of this female for days. she's been hangin around this point for awile and i just finally found her sittin around for once. when i first saw this fish i crapped my pants. i have caught monster largemouth up in marin county. i know my fish. my friend and i have gotten monster bedding fish up to 18 lbs at this one lake. we know how to piss them off enough to get them to bite. back to the story.. anyways i was taking pictures of these nice 5+ females that were cruisin around when i saw a monster spot that was atleast 8 lbs. i thought that one was huge. but out of depths came this beast with her crew and all. this female had 4 or 5 big bass following her every move. all the bass with her were over 5 lbs easy. i just found a lucky spot. i was seeing fish all day just on this one point. schools of carp were every where. i even saw a school of catfish. some of those carp were well up around 30 lbs. i think the carp are getting ready to spawn aswell. lets just say i been scouting this fish for a couple days and she finally took the bait. i'll post a pic when i develope the film. i also got some great shots of the 8 lber... the record for spotted bass is 10 lbs i think. this fish beat it easy.. but no way in hell am i going to kill this fish for a stinkin record. nor do i have anywhere to keep the fish on my boat. that female is that big for a reason. she needs to keep makin those monster babies....

      Report: Launched at Bridge Bay at 0645 started on the south bank right out of the marina and throwing a white spinnerbait worked all the way to Bass Cove with only 2 bites missed one and caught a 1.6 Headed for Dolly point where I caught several very nice fish, most about 1.8 with the best at 2.5 all on a brown jig. Went all the way up the Big Back Bone until the creek was flowing, water is clear to about 8' only caught two fish above the bouy, both small started back working main points and catching some nice fish on jigs in mostly 22' of water, caught about 20 fish today and it was a warm sunny day for a welcomed change.

      Report: The Redding Bassers Turkey Shoot scheduled for
      tomorrow has been canceled. We went out to Jones
      Valley today to check out road conditions and they are not safe to drive out there towing a boat. With the impending storm coming harder tonite we reluctantly are going to cancel the tourney. We will reschedule as soon as it is safe. Will post a date here and have updated flyers in all places where you might have seen them. Thanks and see you in a week or so.

      Report: Not a fishing report but a story about a lucky fisherman. I left home at 06.00 headed for jones valley, radio says the road is still closed until 1/15/05 so I decide to put in at silvertorn,, about 1 mile up silvertorn rd. I hit a slick spot and even though I was only going 15 mph my truck and trailer slid off the road and down into a 20' deep canyon, the trailer stuck on the embankment with all four wheels in the air, only the hitch kept truck from turnning over, I was not injured and very soon Thad Gummings and his fishing partner came along and took me to the top of the hill so I could use my cell phone to call aaa, the wrecker from Kieth's towing was there at 0730 and I was in the water at 0900, my boat, trailer, truck did not have a scratch on them, I am so Lucky today If you use that road this weekend be very careful you may not be as lucky as me. Thad thanks again, I owe you.

      Report: Thought it was about time to submit a report, as it's been awhile. I'm doing this prior tp reading jerry's, so I won't be influenced,har!
      Launched on the upper sac.arm ar 9:30 am, beeeeutifull day,with slight winds out of the North. Snow near the launch ramp. Started throwing MGM's new baits, the Who done what? and the 6" leech, in a #66 pattern. Not even a nibble to begin the day. Caught one on a jig, and went hunting. Around 12 noon,fishing pretty steep stuff, got a 2 1/2 on the leech,fishing it w/a darter head.(best fish of the day). Finally figured them out though, and got four more around 2 lbs,dropshotting a shad worm. Wow, 10+ pounds. Home by 3:30 pm. Total fish caught was only 9 or 10.....

      Report: The Redding Bassers turkey shoot team event(open) will be going out of the Silverthorn Resort and NOT Jones Valley as the road into Jones Valley is still under construction.
      Their flier indicates an $80 fee(cash only)per team
      5 fish limit
      13 inch minimum
      blast off at safe light
      weighin at 3 PM
      I guess Silverthorn is not charging a launch or parking fee.
      The Hidden Valley Market will be open from 4-6 AM for coffee and doughnuts
      Signups at the Silverthorn Resort also 4-6 AM
