Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: In 1961 and 1962 I went to Shasta Junior College. I grew up in Orland, my roommate was from Etna. One day in the spring we rented a boat at Obrien's and I had my uncles little motor. We bought some water dogs for bait. We had them on over the side of the boat with a little weight and as we went over a ridge line my roommate got one on...... After a while he got it in and it was a 7 lb 12 oz largemouth... You could put your whole fist in his mouth. I don't think we caught anything else, we really didn't know what we were doing. I don't think we even had any more bites..... It made the San Francisco tv sports news... I don't remember if it was on the local news or not. Yes, he took it home....

Started Sat with topwater and got 2 quick keepers and several blow ups and small ish. When the sun came up bite died. Tried everything else no takers, 1 more keeper on a dropshot. Sunday NO topwater or reaction at all but the ds bite was better. Weighed a small limit but lost 2 in the 3 lb class.
