Report: launched at b&w and worked the tule strips with spinnerbaits, senkos, and cranks...3 1-lbers on the speedtrap in red craw and then switched to sexy shad kvd 1.5... 2 more 2lbers. worked the rock wall with senkos and picked up 4 more 1-2 lbers on black/blue flk and oxblood. wind was ugly and hard to keep the boat long enough to work an area. by the time the fish was boated, the boat was 20 yds from the hookup.

riverats: post a fishing report and keep your negative comments off this report page.
      City: sac

Report: Not many reports posted lately. Sorry - it's me again. I had a great time guiding a fellow from Seattle yesterday late afternoon up until 11 pm. He had never been to Clear Lake and had only caught bass up to 3 1/2 lbs (Washington smallies). We took care of that real quick as I netted his first bass a half hour later - part the the Clear Lake welcoming committee - a nice 4 lb 10 oz largemouth. Talk about a happy camper!! I thought this was the beginning of a fish-filled trip, but the bite turned out to be slow. Later he caught his first night bass - right at 5 lbs and I caught 2 around 4 1/2. A 4 fish limit (called a "tough" limit) around 19 lbs. We lost 3 more. Not sure why it was so slow, but that's fishin'!! He is coming back in November!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: My client was a pretty skilled angler so I let him fish a jig in the rocks. The Blade Runner jig w/Yamamoto grub produced his first bass. His "5" was on a brush hog - which he had never used before. I was using the 5" Yamamoto Flappin' hog - a great bait! We were fishing in the south end on rock structure, docks, and tulle berms which are now in deeper water. The lake looks great now!!

Report: Had a blast. Only caught 4 bass to 3# but saw everbody catching fish. Senko and plastic worms in trees. Caught all in one stand of trees where I have never caught any before (because of the low lake level). A guy out deeper caught a 14# striper and had another blow up on his bait. It started raining a little while after I showed up and they were biting. I spent a majority of my time trying for striper but blanked.

      Tips: Fish trees for largemouth.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went up to the lake monday, got on the water around 1pm fished till around 7pm. Fished around State park nothing, then moved south to the keys. Caught 14 bass biggest went around 6lbs. Tuesday fished from sun up till dark. Started out fishin the docks around Lakeport no action, wind picked up from the south so I worked my way down more south, county park area picked up 2 bass both in the 3lb range, then went in State park picked up another two in the 3lb range. Went back to the keys and got another 12 ranging from 2lbs-7lbs. headed back to the casino and swited to crappie fishin for an hour and picked up 6 14"-16"

Tips: All the fish came out of water in the 3-5 foot range. some of the bass in the keys were on beds. Caught the bigger bass on Maverick's swimbaits in the hitch color, the rest of the bass bit anything with greenpumkin most were caught on senko's 6" and the crappie bit the yellow/white mini jigs. Too windy to fish my favite spots but still had fun in the keys, worked the swimbaits slow and senko's had to watch the line very soft bite's most fish just picked up the senko and slowly swam to the boat. Hope my next trip does not rain, uot fishin in the rain for 12 hours sucks lol, good luck to all tightlines

Report: Finally got a day off of baseball to take out the Ranger and we managed to do alright. The day started of slow with a few small crankbait fish. My dad dumped a 4 at the boat to start the day, not good. Got a few reaction bites on a craw pattern LC. Moved to another slough and stared flippin tight to tules and the bite there was hot. I got a a couple 4's and about a 6 doing that and my dad got a few 2s and a 4.

Tips: Fish wind blown rip rap with tules without weeds.

Report: Launched at Whiskey Slough @ 6:30, extremely high tide. Fished most of the day in Whiskey, a little in White's Slough. Got my first bite @ 11:30AM picking up four barely keeper sized, slick headed bank runners on speedtrap. At 12:10PM rounded out limit with 6lb 6oz chunk on the same speedtrap. Beautiful weather, too nice to catch alot of fish.
      City: San Ramon

Tips: Lately it seems like rocks with no tules are working best for me.

Report: Took off from Stockton this morning about 7am, worked our way to Franks fishing serveral spots along the way. It was very slow for us, we ened up with only two keepers that we caught in Franks on spinnerbait. We tried cranking, senkos and swimbaits, we just couldn't figure it out.

      Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Holland Riverside. Great day... for tanning. Very calm and sunny. Took my friend and his son out. Threw a bunch of stuff and only senkos and brushhogs worked but even then, a lot of short strikes and fish coming off. Punched mats and shallows for nothing. Rocks with weeds with around 5+ feet water seemed better.
      City: Pleasant Hill

      Tips: I'd like some...

      Water Temp: 60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went out Thursday and we missed the boat this time. Cold and windy. Then a huge, cold and windy thunderstorm beared down on us. It was so windy by the late afternoon, I couldn't hold it with the trolling motor. We finally left. 4 little fish and 2.25 lber. That's all. Worked real hard too. Talk to one guy who said he hit a 10.1 and 5 over 5 way out in Stockton.

Tips: Don't ask me. I caught most fish on shallow running crank baits in back end sloughs when they were biting last week. On another note, please reserve the obscenities and the hateful ugly comments for another time and place other than this website where we can all enjoy some comaraderie. If you have something against someone, please forgive them for the horrific deed, whatever it was. It is a tough world out there and then to come to this site which I look forward to and have to read silly comments like riverat's. Very disheartening riverat and shameful...

      Water Temp: 60-65

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: After I put down the reaction baits at 9:00 I found a decent pick on the drop shot in the 12/15 foot range. I plunked off some three pounders but the water was to clear for a senko bite. I did however toss a senko into a tree and watch a 9 and a 7 pounder come right up to the branch I was totally snagged on. While they were trying to figure out how to eat my senko off of the branch...I reeled down broke off spun around grabbed my drop shot and flipped it into the same spot. Both fish go nose down and gone...gulp... I'm bit so it's off to the races with my 10/8 braid/flouro a #4 owner and a tungsten sinker....the rod is the dsr820s by Loomis with a Sedona reel. It was my go to rig all day but it is very light. I did some serious running around while trying to slow her down but once I cleared her from the tree she kept dig'n for.I switched rod angles and she came up and jumped in the middle of the oak tree and went down and under the branch she was on the wrong side of. At that point I let her tear off a mess o' line into the nearby depths and landed her a minute later. I ended my day at 4:00 and had 23 pounds thanks to the pig and a 5 pounder I wished up from nowhere at 2 o'clock.
      City: Ojai

Tips: My best time was between noon and 2:00.. Keep it simple. 8 pound line or less. I wacky rig a flik shake 4.8 with a 4/5 inch tag from hook to my sinker. FISH SLOWLY...Everybody seemed in a hurry to not catch fish....The water cleared and It's tough now so slow and steady and a shake or two before pulling it towards you a bit. It was all about wood. Almost all my fish were on wood. We are off the full moon but the weather is going to get typically snotty for everyone this coming Saturday. I gotta work.
