Water Temp: 53-57
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Ranger pilot: we were the Tracker that was 100yrds from you when that boat dropped anchor on you. After he was done with you he came into our cove and proceeded to blow it out. He beached his craft destroying at least one bed we knew of. We had just smacked two fat spots and then they were gone!
City: Santa ClaraTips: Please have som courtesy for others. Had this been a Tournament there would have been a Hudd upside your head. We freely give out fishing information just don't ask us while we are on the water. We feel ya Rangerpilot

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Back to the previous post... We ended up with 10 fish, 5 spots and 5 largies. Largest just over 4 and best 5 went about 14 lbs.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Out again today at safe light. This time with fellow angler and friend "Pony Boy". Fished til 6 pm and the day was a bit tougher than 4/5. We each caught 1 in the 1st hour, but a very long stretch before we hooked up again. Late afternoon bite was much better compared to the morning. The fish seemed to have backed out a bit, though they were still in 15 feet or less. All fish caught on a variety of plastics and no reaction bite for us.
City: LoomisTips: What's the deal with the Asian anglers that I keep seeing everytime I go out to Folsom these days? They load up 5-12 people in a boat and drop them off on shore to different parts of the lake to fish while the boater fishes by himself in the boat. Today after he droppped everyone off, he pulled his boat up right next to me and dropped anchor and cast out a line where I was already fishing for about an hour and then started asking me questions??? Now I consider myself to be pretty friendly and share info, but if you pull up on me and start casting where I'm casting...you might want to watch the back of your head for incomming Huddlestons!

Water Temp: 56 - 62 degrees
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Nice to see I wasn't the only fisherman who had a hard time Friday (yjjforme). :-P
Luanched the Custom Valco "BASSBUSTER1" out of Ladd's around 8 a.m. and was off the water by 4:30 p.m. My first 4 hours was focused on finding prespawn fish and my last 4 hours went spawn bed hunting in LVW Marina. Only got 4 bites all day and should have made them count. The mistake I made Friday was not switching to finesse and down sizing. Even the spawn bed bass were spooky and not willing to defend the beds. Should have down sized to 3" worms and possibly used my Strike King 2" tubes. My wacky rigged Zoom Trick Worms were not working on the beds today. The four bites were short strikes on a black/brown and black/red jigs. I should have down sized those too.
City: StocktonTips: Learn to be flexible from day to day when out fishing. What worked the day or two before may not keep working days later. Keep expiramenting and be versitle.

Water Temp: 58-60

Report: 2 day report, went thursday and had a great day tossing l.c. red square bills to rip rap. also was flipping brown and purple jigs but for some reason my flipping bite hasnt been too good (might just be me) all in all good day 17 fish for a best five of 21 lbs. also went out today (friday) this negative tide KILLED my day. launched at 7 and had an outgoing tide for 2hrs and quickly caught 2 fish (both bout 2.5-3lbs) on rip rap tossing square bills and that was it for the rest of the day absolute waste of a day the tide went negative round 11 and no tide change till about 230 when i was getting off the water. the bites gonna be hard the next couple days i think from looking at the tide charts. good luck and tight lines.
City: stocktonTips: wait for a more stable tide swing

Water Temp: 49 - 55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Thursday 4/5/12 & Friday 4/6/12.
Lunker Larry, because you mentioned there aren’t many reports, I decided to write this report even though my fishing buddy and I had a real tough half fishing day Thursday and a full day Friday. Perhaps there are few reports because of the tough fishing. We launched out of Lakeport and first headed south and got blown away by high winds and waves, also no fish. It was a struggle to get back to the north end to some protected cuts/channels where we finally caught 3 fish, a 4 lb 4oz, 3:8 and 3:3. This was only after being told by a friendly fisherman and his buddy that they were having some luck drop-shotting a morning dawn colored worm. Over night the air temperature dropped to freezing. In the morning, we had to chip the ice off the seats in the boat. The water temperature had also dropped overnight from 55° to 49°. There was very little wind Friday and the day turned out to be beautiful once it warmed up a little. Again we went South with no luck and then headed North up to Rodman Slough. The water in Rodman was cold and chocolate colored, again, no fish. We then worked our way back toward Lakeport and ended with 4 fish all between 2 and 3 lbs again on morning dawn colored worms. Both days we fished from 12 ft of water in to shallow water. All fish were caught between 8 ft and 5 ft at the openings of cuts/channels. Over the two days we also tried many other techniques including the A-rig with no success. However, I did have a couple hits on the A-rig but no hookups.
City: PinoleTips: The fish have not yet moved in. But if we get some nice warm days, the fish will start moving in and the bite should really pick up.

Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: gorgeous day to be in such a beautiful place, saw a gigantic bald eagle fishing. We did better than he did though. We hammered them shallow on creature baits under any shady dock we could find. The best 5 went #32. Lost one at the boat that was every bit of #12. It hurt but still a #66 ten fish limit this week makes me giggle like a schoolgirl.

Shadow Cliffs Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out the other day and water is now in the 65 degree range. Spawn is in full effect. Saw several males on beds with females close by. Saw a couple 8-10pound females cruising the shallows. Caught a few of senkos and that was it. I ran into a guy with a stringer of bass, he told me he wanted to show his kid and he would throw them back. I told him that he needs to let any females go right away. Keep an eye out for our resources, practice catch and release.

Report: Took my son to Berryessa for the first time for prespawn bass fishing.
Fished the shore at Smittle Creek and Capell Cove
Caught 3 fish (2 smallies and 1 largemouth)
Two were females 1.5 lbs and 1 was male 1.5 lbs.
Water in Smittle Creek is stained but still visible down 3 feet. Water in Capell was muddy with 0 feet visibility.
All fish taken on night crawlers (weightless) within 10 feet of shore.
City: Moraga CATips: Fish have not started staging yet. It seems as though they are just starting to move up. Late spawn this year due to late storms?

Water Temp: 58 ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished dead end slough for a 6 and a 5 between my brother and I. A few other fish that barely kept mixed in. Got the 6 on a crankbait. The rest on wacky senko, black and blue. Crankbait on falling tide. Show some love to fishermen in tubes. Don't cut off people in inflatables-we're here for the same reason.
City: ConcordTips: Senko and crankbait

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Hey CBoat - It sure would be helpful if the more skilled anglers like you could share a little more information with those of us trying to learn. You don't have to give away your location or super secret techniques but what about the types of lures that were most productive, where the fish were (i.e. rocky banks, near tules, outside the weed line, etc.), the general vicinity (i.e. east Delta), the technique used (flipping). Well you get the idea – it’s really nice to hear how well you did but it would be even better to learn more about how you did it. You weren’t on the bank with minnows were you?

Water Temp: 49-51
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took my boy's to the lake for our annual Spring Break Trip, fished Tuesday & Wednesday. Tues. was gray sky's and cold, started out at Rodman's slough, too muddy moved north towards Nice and caught a 3.5lb with a Chrt/Wht spinner bait in the clumps of tules on a tule point. Moved to lakeport and started fishing the docks, Sean picked up a 3lb'r on the spinnerbait, then he switched to a Jerkbait and nailed 2 more fish, a 3 & a 4lb'r. Went in due to rain and wind, went out Weds early to sunny skies but it was tough with the COLD wind blowing, picked up 1 more on the spinnerbait, lost a couple went in because of the wind. Still a good trip.
City: PacificaTips: water's still cold & dirty, but we found fish shallow (3')

Collins Lake
-
Water Temp: 53-57
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: My brother and I fished this lake for the first time. The lake is full and up into the trees. The wind blew us around so we started with rip baits and LV500's in the morning. We kept getting trout on the LV500 in 15 feet. We moved off but did not get anything. When the wind became more manageable we tossed worms and 6 inch Senkos into the trees from 4 ft to about 20 feet. There we started picking up fish and ended up with several in the 13 - 15 inch length. About three the wind got worse so we took a couple trout we had caught home for dinner.
